They had the movie I wanted to catch on a recent trip to Marin. The theater was tchnically OK(sound quality, screen size & sharpness), but the place reeked of the odor of homeless people. ick. I will not be back.

Good local theater. They have first run movies that play early and late into the evening. On busy days the theater has difficulty keeping the restrooms Clean. There is sometimes an interesting odor in the theater. It’s safe for late night films. The staff is courteous. I like the theater because it has so many theater and can accommodate 3D and 2d films.

I was a bit hesitant to come to this theater because of the reviews saying that the sound was poor and the screens were small. However, I did not find this to be the case at all. The screen was the same as any other non-imax theater I’ve visited and the sound was great. The only real downside to the theater is that it doesn’t have stadium seating.

2 issues first I accidentally threw my stub in the trash. I told the attendant and she took me to the trash can and told me to find it. Digging for trash is not my expertise so I declined. The pop corn has no taste at all much better at Smith Ranch theater!

Just finished watching Turbo with my daughter and her friend. It’s mostly a good experience when we go here. However on this particular visit the floors were extremely sticky. Both at the concession stand and in the theater itself. Maybe theaters should be built more like ballparks and they could just hose the whole place down at the end of the day.

I have been here many times and never thought to Unilocal them. It’s a movie theater, aren’t they all the same. Well this experience really called for a Unilocal. They were just so nice. It was an early evening movie of «Jack the Giant Slayer» yes it was a school night and yes I know it is a kids movie. It is always a clean and friendly place, even when they are swamped and they have a big selection with 15 screens. This time was a little different. I had just picked up my grandson to do a return for him(see my review of Cellaris) and he was dying to see this movie. I agreed if his mom, my daughter, gave the green light(I never expected her to say yes) then I would take him. He called and she said yes with one condition, he had to complete his homework first. The very nice lady at the ticket counter loaned a pen to us and he did his homework sitting in their lobby. Now we had met the conditions. Five minutes into the movie we decided we needed popcorn. In the interest of time, I spilled the entire large box of popcorn on the floor as soon as we sat down. I returned to the lobby and remarked that it was a good thing I had a free refill. He filled the box again without making it our refill. How nice was that? Nice! Of course, we could not finish one large popcorn, but still it was the kind jesture. This theater, definitely 4 stars maybe even 5.

They are open late until past midnight. They are always happy to take my money from me. I really don’t recommend the 3D movies because they seem about as good as the regular 3D movies but they cost about $ 4 more. So, I think that the Century Northgate Theatre is a great choice for theatres if you live in the San Rafael, Marin County area. It tends to have more choices than the other theatres nearby in terms of movie selection. The hotdogs are not bad either. Some movie theatres will not even let you take water into their theatre because they want you to buy their water. At Century Northgate 15 they don’t say anything if you bring in a Nalgene container of bottled water. I recommend this theatre.
