Their apple fritters & cinnamon rolls are especially delicious although, everything I’ve tried is great. The service is courteous & friendly. I’ve treated my coworkers with their wares a number of times to rave reviews.

The glazed donuts here are sooooo incredibly good. I don’t think I can eat a donut from anywhere else after having tasted the donuts here. Owners are friendly and it’s nice to see their friendly faces whenever you stop by here.

Best early morning stop for all things sweet and delicious, with plenty of hot coffee in classic and fancy flavors. Their wide selection of donuts is always appreciated. Favorites being their fluffy glazed and jelly donuts. Show your coworkers just how much you appreciate them by stopping by here first. .. and load up!

This is a review of Jelly Donut in Northgate One in San Rafael. This is a good doughnut shop. I am not sure about the raves. But they make a pretty darn good doughnuts. It certainly wouldn’t take down Peterson’s in Escondido or challenge Top Pot in Seattle. But, hey, neither of those places are in San Rafael. I had a chocolate covered bar, a buttermilk old-fashioned, and three glazed(to-go) — They were all good. Their glazed doughnut is the closest glazed to Krispy Kreme I’ve ever tried that wasn’t from Krispy Kreme. The buttermilk old-fashioned was creamy and cake like. It was a very good doughnut. The chocolate covered bar was pretty basic. It didn’t really stand out. The staff was friendly and effective The interior is simple and functional. They only accept cash. I had cash. So, this isn’t really an issue for me. However, this is 2014, it is ridiculous for any standing bricks & mortar business to not accept cards. The customer comes first. Well, unless they want to use a card. The customer is always right. Well, unless they want to use a card. So, where exactly did that fourth star go? It is hiding in the ‘70s. That was the last decade it was acceptable for a business to not accept credit cards. (I do have a caveat to this. If a place is truly legendary as a amazing throwback experience, they can get a waiver on the requirement for modern technology. Jimbo’s Hot Dogs fits into this category. Jelly Donut does not.) Plus, for a doughnut shop, they have very limited hours. Almost every time I have walked by(usually between 7 and 9 pm), they have been closed. Today, before grabbing lunch and going to the grocer, I checked their hours. I am glad I did. They were closing at 3 pm. If I had not checked first, I would have missed them. Come on, its a doughnut shop. What is a cop supposed to do if he gets hungry at 4 pm? I paid just over $ 4 for my 5 doughnuts. Overall — Jelly Donut is a good spot. They have good doughnuts. Just make sure to show up early(but not too early) and to bring cash. If you like classic doughnuts, you will leave a happy camper.

I loved this donut shop! Super attentive employees, you walk in the door and they just give you this family welcome vibe! Donuts taste freaken Amazzzing! Super fresh. When I came here I got an apple fritter that was the size of my head! A raspberry filled glazed donut which was pretty large as well, 12 donut holes I I really liked the donut holes they had a great texture If you like cake donuts I think they do a great job on those as well I ordered a crumb donut which was probably my favorite! I really like the location huge parking lot. If you happened to be in the area definitely stop in!

Love this place best donuts ever! The people who work here are super nice and the coffee is good. Some people might not like the deco but I’m a huge fan of mom and pop shops with excellent food and service.

Jelly Donut is simply the best donut shop you’ll ever find. Took my three kids here throughout their childhoods. They all love this place and still talk about it. Forget Krispy Crème and other chains. These mom and pop owners come in at 4:00AM every day to whip up very tasty donuts in all the good varieties. They work so hard at it and deserve your business. Make this place your go to donut shop too!

Jelly Donut has quite simply the best donuts I’ve ever eaten. Try to get there first thing in the morning when the donuts are still warm — divine! I love the raised glazed and my kids love the sprinkle donuts. When they open their bags, they are often surprised to see that the staff has thrown in a donut hole or two.

One of the few businesses in the strip mall worth mentioning. Good donuts from this Mom & Pop place. No lines, and we usually find an extra something in our bag… always nice to have a sweet surprise :) The French donuts are one of my favorites. Note: cash only.

I’ve probably passed by this place a hundred times but today is the first time I decided to walk in. Unilocal kept raving about their crumb glazed donuts and donut holes so that’s exactly what I ordered. I have to agreed that I thought both were yummy, but not super incredible like some people said. Good donuts for good prices, I will be back!

I’m ashamed of how much I like this place. If it wouldn’t make me die of a heart attack, I could eat here everyday. I love the mom and pop atmosphere of this place. Reasonable prices too.

Jelly Donut is the best! My dad is a regular here, but we live out of town and only come once or twice a year.. They seem to love children and were so sweet to my family with two young kids. The owner is incredibly kind and generous – she gave us lots of extra donuts to take home. Oh, and their donuts are traditional but pretty amazing: fresh, light, sugary, crispy, YUM!

These mom and pop donut stores are starting to go away, but somehow(for the better), this has stayed true despite a Starbucks just two doors over. Plan to spend $ 1-$ 2 here per donut/pastry but you get your money’s worth! If only it wasn’t for my growing waist line… I’d come here every morning!

Been to this place many, many, many times with my uncle who actually introduced me to this amazing donut place, and I must say: not only their donuts are really delicious(it even beats Krispy Kreme by a notch or two!), but the owners are so sweet and generous that on many occasions, I’ve got something extra in my bag… either a few donut holes or a whole donut! Most of all, despite its small size, their pastries come out very fresh and luscious, I even take it to school and those donuts still taste wonderful! It may be a tiny hole in the wall that can be found next to a large, nationally-owned coffee shop, but, their expertise in making high-quality donuts and pastries shows that they know how to make quality desserts. Every time I get to visit this store, it brings out my childhood again and again… And nope, this is not your typical Dunkin’ Donuts or Krispy Kreme! This shop makes real donuts, and it just makes my mouth water!

I only go here once a month when my aunt comes. The donuts are cheap and delicious. I always get the chocolate old fashioned donut. Sometimes they throw in a free donut if you get lucky. Have been here forever and I love supporting the local business!

What can I say about Jelly Donut. How dear to me you are. My family and I have been going to JD for over 10 years. It is a after church Sunday ritual. The owners have seen my children grow up and always have a smile and a «Hello!» for us. Their jelly donuts are simply the best I’ve ever had and I’ve had many all over the US. AND they make them three ways which I’ve never seen anywhere else: powdered sugar, glazed and, my favorite, granulated sugar. The exterior has a slight crust which when bitten into reveals a soft, pillowy and slightly chewy interior. Heaven! Their glazed donuts blow Krispy Kreme away. FYI If you like KK then you, sir, are no donut aficionado. What else? Apple fritters, perfect donut holes(which they often sneak into your bag or box which we call«bonus holes»). Another not to be missed creation is the crumb donut in either yeast or cake configuration. I’ve never seen them anywhere else and they are GOOOOOOOOD! Finally, sprinkle colors that change with the seasons. Take a look at my pics and get there immediately! A pink box of happiness awaits you.

Friendly staff, wide selection and nice alternative, inexpensive coffees adjacent to Starbucks. Haven’t tasted one donut there I didin’t like! Cash only.

I wouldn’t ever expect to find a good doughnut place in a strip mall near a Starbucks. Jelly Donut — doh! Is an unassuming and small. You go in and the space is dominated by the counter showcasing their goods. The counter window isn’t as big as a Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme, but it does have a decent variety of cake doughnuts. I quickly and easy found two donuts that I wanted. The two other people with me also found a good selection. The lady helping us even through in an extra! We walked out with three paper sacks of donuts with grease spots appearing on the exterior. I can only speak to the deliciousness of the apple fritter that took me two days and a friend to consume. That’s right. The first day two of us shared a piece and I ate the rest the second day. Frankly, I don’t know how you can go wrong with an apple fritter.

Walked in. Display case full of donuts. Me happy! Found the Old Fashioned Maple Glazed and got two of them(shared one with a coworker). Very tasty! Almost as good as my favorite place near my house(Rolling Pin, San Bruno). Lady who rung me up was very nice and said ‘Have a nice day!‘ Glad I ran this morning! Donuts are so worth it after a five mile run @ 5am in 46 degree foggy weather! So gooooooooood! Content until my next craving.

in this crazy world being taken over by Krispy Kreme, Dunkin Donuts and the like, this mom-and-pop(literally) holdout is a gem. this hard-working couple starts up EVERYDAY, well before the sun comes up, to make sure there is a huge variety of freshly prepared, melt in your mouth donuts from which I can choose. I don’t need no stinkin’ conveyor belt to deliver to me a fresh glazed piece of yeasty heaven! and, they still do baker’s dozens. take that, k kreme! trying to cut back? try a bag of their donut holes — just as good, just more bite-sized.
