Starbucks

talk about a bad atmosphere — I’ve never encountered a Starbucks where the employees were so unenthusiastic to be at work. no smiles, no effort to greet, I stood awkwardly waiting for the young woman to even make eye contact with me at the register and when she did she said «yes?» as though I was bothering her! maybe it was a funky day for the employees or something, and having worked retail for over 6 years, I understand customer service can be a little emotionally draining. I’ll stick with another Starbucks from now on.

I came upon this Starbucks while driving around San Rafael. I ordered an iced chia w/​vanilla and a multi grain bagel. My chia was perfect. I really don’t go to Starbucks at home in Utah much anymore. My boys own a café where they specialize in coffees, teas, cupcakes and etc. I Love the chia at their café and the chai at our Starbucks is quite bland! I decided to give it a try here and it is delicious, perfect dose of vanilla. Bagel was toasted perfectly. The employees were very friendly and advised me of places I could check out around town. Very friendly atmosphere!!!

I’ve been coming to this place for years and I’ve never been disappointed until now. I ordered two grandes with whipped cream. When I held my cups they were very light. I think the guy who made them made talls instead of grandes because only half of the cup was filled with coffee, and then the other half filled with whipped cream.
I probably will not be coming here again unless it’s an emergency. Also, one of the employees was making a call on her phone while near the cash register. Smh!

This is my favorite Starbucks location in San Rafael, out of the many!
The people are the nicest behind the counter here.
The space itself is a little odd, as its very long and has a limited number of seats. Would be great if they could have tables out back on the canal.
They stop brewing dark roast around noon but are always willing to do a delicious pour over for you.

sometimes the service is kind of slow other than that they have really friendly service and they make great Java chip Frappuccino who can be mad when they make it that good

Starbucks is great for holiday drinks! I lol coming here and order something complicated like Peppermint Mocha because I could never make it at home! It’s also a cool place to go hang out, charge your phone and chill with friends. I like their latte on a simple day when it’s not a holiday drink day!

Great service and my passion tea actually tasted like tea vs. other locations where it’s mostly added water and ice. My breakfast sandwich was toasted just the right amount. Good location to stop by on a road trip or if you’re in the area!

This location has a very strange vibe, and there’s always a problem with the bathroom – either someone has camped out, or it doesn’t work, or something. They have two doors, one that leads to the canal, and that means they probably can’t police the location that well. Not one of the friendlier Starbucks.

When the wifi was not working:
«I am so pissed. The internet is f*cked up.» Wait, did that old granny say the F word? «I just got here, spent $ 10, and the internet is f*cked up» to her friend on her cell phone. Yes, she did.
«You know, has anyone ever told you that you look like Liam Neeson?»
«Yes, and I wanted to punch that person in the throat.»
I was too scared to turn my head to my right and confirm that he looks like Liam Neeson.
Just a sampling of the conversations at this Starbucks. Eavesdropping is a productive activity here.

This location isn’t that clean but the fact they have private parking here is a plus though. It’s also on my way so it’s in a convenient location for me. Drinks aren’t that consistent here either. The staff and service too are inconsistent. Some are great while others could learn to smile once in awhile.

This Starbucks is seriously the worst I have ever been to… And I go to Starbucks everyday and have lived in many places! First of all, they’re all just rude. No one has ever once smiled at me. Then there is the issue that every time I come in most of the staff is in the back talking and no one is there to make drinks. I have given this location so many chances but it’s just pathetic. Starbucks should shut this location down because it’s truly tainting their name…

I usually love this place because I can grab a quick coffee after i do a bank deposit and it works out perfectly.
Today was NOT the case. I waited in line for about 20 minutes because they had a huge drink order in front of me for 14 drinks which I didn’t mind waiting for initially. Then i looked around and out of 4 employees one was working the drink station and the other three were walking around not really doing much.
The worst part was the girl making all the drinks and the miserable attitude she gave as she was handing the drinks out to people waiting for their orders. Almost throwing them at the people instead of placing them on the counter when they were ready. Her name way Lynn or Lean. Very rude and when I asked a question about my drink having an extra shot she shot back at me that it had 4(with a look of disgust)…like i was supposed to know what that meant. I asked again in a different way if that means an extra shot and she said yes with an attitude and then walked into the back room. The other girl behind her had to clarify with me about my drink beforeI left.
Terrible attitude and really turned me off from coming back here. Used to love this little location until that girl served my drink.
BUMMER!

The girl behind the counter and the Barister were fighting. very unpleasent… Then i was told off by the barrister… I have had continual bad service and lack of care many times in there… I am willing to walk by the homeless outside smoking all the time to get in this place but i cringe at the attitude of the workers… If ony there were some other place open early like this one…

This is the best & most local friendly Starbucks in Marin. I’m a daily regular here mostly for my caffeine fix & cool down thirst quencher. All staff are super courtesy, friendly, warm smiles makes one feel great. A Smile is good for you.

If I could do zero stars, I would. Other than the nice guy working there today, I would say this Starbucks has the WORST customer service overall. They are also extremely slow compared to others. A bunch of bench warmers working there. The blonde girl making drinks today completely ignored my order. On busy days this happens but there were only three people there. I waited for about three minutes… no drink. She proceeded to clean containers until the other two drinks came in. She made those and still proceeded to ignore the fact that I was standing there waiting. So rude. She walked away before I could say anything. Probably better that I didn’t say anything to her because It would have been ugly. The nice guy came over and looked at me confused. I told him she did not make my drink even though I ordered long before the other people. He graciously apologized and put my drink in a cup. I left not very happy.
Got in the car and drove a bit. Took a sip of the drink and almost gagged. All chocolate, no coffee. She didn’t even put coffee in it. It was gross. That girl needs to be fired or at least get her some social skills. She’s terrible!

Great location but too many problems with the baristas. The customer service and coffee quality is inconsistent. Baristas don’t call out the orders causing mass confusion on drinks waiting at counter. Baristas seem to be the most unpleasant of the staff. Why is that?! Go to the Irwin location instead. You’ll notice the A+ quality of service, coffee… and drinks made FAST!

Best one in San Rafael.
Staff is very helpfull, on point, quick, and consistently good coffee.

I like this starbucks for two reasons:
1. Smallest starbucks in San Rafael and is usually less crowded. When you need to get work done, def. come here instead.
2. The staff is super friendly, you can easily strike up a conversation with any of them and it isn’t the usual «this is awkward» feeling. Baristas actually feel like friends.
As for the coffee, its very good and since there are less people here than the other starbucks in the area, Baristas usually concentrate more on what they are doing instead of just churning out mocha after mocha.

This Starbucks is a-​okay and I wouldn’t recommend against going here.
The inside was too cold however — not temperature-​warm even though the atmosphere was warm. It was so cold that hot drinks cooled quickly. As a result (?), the place was mostly foot-​traffic with no more than one table (
) occupied at any time (there are seven tables for two, and two sofa chairs).
The workers are friendly. The place is pretty clean (
). Me, doubting I’d return since it’s not that easy to spot even though it’s right off 101.
There is a parking area in the front and the back hallway leads to outdoor seating (
). However, it was kind of stinky since the waterway running right below was all swampy and muddy. The restroom requires a key code.

Yay Starbucks!!! I love this coffee house more than a friend sometimes! They know my name, and my drink. I usually get the Venti Ice Coffee four add shots, and I never have to ask. I live close by so I always go here every morning for my coffee. There is parking and you don’t have to worry about meters, its small, but you can usually find room. I don’t always go to the starbucks on fourth street because you can never find parking, and if you do you may end up paying for it.
I rate this location five stars because they try, meaning they don’t always get my drink exaxctly the way I would like it, but I know that there is an honest effort put into the creation. The staff on board has been pretty consistant and its been usually the same people, which is nice because you know that they must do something to treat there employees right.
Now, there might be the occational cop or two around the building but they are just doing there job, they are just there for the same resion you are. COFFEE!!! Speaking of which there pasteries are not that bad, I have only tried the Reduced fat coffee cake, the brain muffen, and the pette yellow scone. The perfect oat meal is not bad and the spinach wrap is good too. I am not sure about everything because they are loaded with calories so I try and stay away from them.
