I am now a huge fan of this place. I’ve been looking for a good sports/hang out bar in San Rafael for a while now and I’m pretty sure I’ve found it. I came after a long day of work during Saturday happy hour and it was great. So many TVs with games on and really not that crowded. The server recommended the fresh squeezed IPA on tap and then accidently poured two so I got a free beer! I also had the quesadilla and pork buns off the happy hour menu for dinner. Really good and great prices on everything. Definitely my new hang out spot

This is by far the best sports bar I’ve been to in Marin. Great selection of beers on tap and in bottle, very friendly staff, lots of big screen tv’s, and good food with reasonable prices. What’s not to like?! The waitress tonight introduced me to Fort Point Kolsch, a local beer, which was excellent. All good.

I’ve been eyeing this restaurant for awhile and finally stopped by for happy hour to sample the food and grab a beer. As most locals to Marin know, the happy hour scene here is pretty sparse and often overpriced. That isn’t the case here as my partner and I tried several small plates paired with a couple beers and the check came out to be $ 10 – 15 less than what we have been used to paying elsewhere. The interior is typical of a local bar with lots of dark wood and tall tables with wooden chairs. While not a large space, there is plenty of room for a moderate crowd. It took us awhile to order because the menu options and beer on tap all sounded interesting. There are plenty of popular microbrews and the food consists of a mixture of comfort foods from various cultures. We tried the pork buns, pork sliders(with tater tots), shrimp tacos, and a jazzed up rendition of American-style hard tacos. All hit the spot except for the pork buns, which were a bit flat… and fried. The shrimp tacos were massive, good flavors with a hint of crunch. The pork sliders were good as well. Maybe not the best I’ve had, but definitely above average and worth trying. The tater tots were drizzled with garlic and fried to crispy goodness. The American tacos were also a good mixture of childhood memories with a modern restaurant twist. Overall, I really liked this spot and will definitely be back to try out the rest of their menu.

I love the way everyone makes me welcome from the door. First name called and my regular beer is poured before i ask. I had the«Traitor Val.» Amazing. Love the bacon aioli on this chicken jalapena sammie. Sweet Elba is cheerful and always says high. Bob my bartender was flawlessly filling my orders while in training with the awesome force of nature … Stella … the ultimate multitasker. Rudy owns that kitchen. Every plate exceeds expectations.

Randomly stumbled upon this restaurant. My husband and I were showing our friends from out of town San Rafael and we just so happened to find this awesome restaurant/bar. Awesome vibes and large craft beer selection. The food was great and the service was amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to going back.

Happily surprised! This bar fare was fresh, delicious and presented well. Menu included quite a variety of salads and non-typical pub grub in addition to the usual suspects. Extremely nice staff and decent patrons(considering the location). Will definitely return.

My hubster said he wanted to try The Flatiron for his birthday dinner. I think it was mainly because we usually giggle and sometimes outright laugh out loud at the messages on the board outside. So we went, thinking this might be a cool place for some bar grub. Now, I don’t drink,(allergic to alcohol, not for lack of trying to enjoy a good cocktail every once in awhile), but the waitress, I forget her name, she was awesomesauce, suggested my husband get the jalapeño margarita. Btw, he LOVES a good margarita. She told him if he didn’t like it, it would be on the house. Well… we paid for the margarita. HELOVEDIT. I ended up getting the blonde wings and quite frankly, after I tried them, I couldn’t stop talking about them. I don’t even remember what he ordered, the wings were THATGOOD. Needless to say, we’ve ordered the wings several more times and will continue to come back. Next time, we might come in to watch the Sharks… in the mean time, I’m trying to orders some wings tonight, but the phones have been busy for the last half hour…*hits redial*

Opinions are often based on expectations and as I have been to Flatiron 5+ times to watch sports, mine were set. Lots of TV’s with the volume on, good food, mostly but not always good service. Went with my 4 year old last week and everything exceeded expectations. Had 4 items from the menu which were all fantastic. Service was great and friendly. We sat in the back room on purpose to give the sports fans their sports bar and that too worked out well. Coming back this week.

Haven’t been here in a few years and just checked in and grabbed a blackened chicken sandwich with truffle fries. AMAZINGFOOD. Really good, and great fries. They’ve totally re-done the menu with typical bar fare as well as some higher class gastro-pub like dishes. It all looks amazing. As does the interior which has been totally redone since I’ve been there last. Overall– great sports bar with modern, airy, light décor and fantastic high end California bar food.

Disappointed!!! I called before going to make sure they would be broadcasting the soccer game for my friends and I. They said«we have 10 TVs we can sure find you one.» They informed me upon arrival that they would not. They were broadcasting the same feed on multiple TVs. I don’t appreciate businesses that don’t plan on keeping your word.

Nice little bar in DT San Rafael. Food is typical bar food: fries, some funky Asian fusion appetizers and their cauliflowers were great! Not too loud, just the right volume. Service was excellent. Yes, I’ll be back for another outing.

After drinking and eating here for years, I enjoyed lunch here for the first time. The menu has your typical bar fare, of course. What was pleasantly surprising was the variety of options. You had your burgers, sandwiches and fried options, but also wonderful sounding salads and tacos. After an appetizer of guacamole, with warm, fresh tortilla chips, I had the shrimp tacos. These are really good. Crunchy fried shrimp, coleslaw and a delicious green salsa. Perfect portions, great surroundings and friendly, attentive service. I’ll be baaaaack.

Great service and nice people. Whoever owns this joint did a heck of a remodel. Place is classy clean and love the movies late at night. Best sports bar and good food. Right up the Street is Spit Fire. Keep walking that place still cannot afford to carry white wine and is still musty and dirty. Not sure why they changed the name from Nickle Rose when nothing has changed. Head to Flatiron always when in that area.

Yummy cold beer. Great atmosphere and really good food. I love the floor and the look. The bartenders are always nice and they sponsor a lot of the local teams. Good times to be had

You really can’t beat this place. Great food, a cold beer, and a breeze at your back – even if it’s just from the truck doing 45 down 2nd Street. Bar food doesn’t really do the food here justice. It’s food. And you’re in a bar. But it’s better than that.

I had the burger and asked blue cheese. When my meal arrived, my meat and bun were covered in big chunky goodness. Then the heat of the meat began to melt in the best burger eating the knife and fork I’ve had in a long time. They make their own Mac salad and it suits this meal perfectly.
