The Foam Store does quality work. It also can save you a substantial amount of money when you are shopping for custom made cushions.
To furnish a new window seat, I needed two large rectangular cushions.
The Foam Store helps you select the appropriate cushion material (foam and batting). I brought them fabric I ordered over the internet. You also provide the Store with the exact measurements for the custom cushions.
Then the Store makes the cushions to your design and size specifications. In my case, two weeks were required for the turnaround time. The quality of the custom sewing was very good – surprisingly so.
You could also retain the services of an interior designer who will come to your home, help you with the selection of fabric, do the measurements, and then fabricate the cushions in their design studios.
In this example, it very likely either option results in high quality custom seat cushions.
The Foam Store choice yielded a savings of about 40%+ –compared to quotes from the interior designer. It is your choice.

I had custom cushions made and they turned out great. I was impressed with the quality and turn around time. The staff was very knowledgeable and made it very easy. I highly recommend.

I called them to inquire about getting a cal king foam mattress split in half to reduce motion transfer. (I’m upgrading from a tradition mattress to memory foam.) Gentlemen on the phone was very helpful. Explained that splitting the mattress may not offer any improvement if the halves are still touching each other. It’s rare to find an establishment with such excellent customer service.

I purchased a sofa several years from a local company in San Rafael, that has since closed down. The cushions on the sofa were starting to fall apart — the result of many kids and pets wearing them down. The fabric was torn and shredding in places… Needless to say it needed an overhaul. I found the Foam Store as I was driving by, and I am so glad I did. Lisa and her team were superb. Not only did they convince me I didn’t have to go buy a brand-​new sofa, but they also hooked me up with an upholster and new fabric.
When there was a mishap with the fabric being delivered to a wrong address, they were on it and the situation was resolved within 30 minutes. Terrific customer service. Terrific resource. I will plan to use them on the window seats I need to replace, new outdoor cushions, and cushions for our boat.
Definitely as good as it gets.

Steve and the staff know their stuff. Very knowledgable and no pressure. The prices are fair and I will take all my upholstery business to them.

The service here is what prompted me to leave a review. I had the pleasure of meeting Ken, Lisa and Steve and all three couldn’t have been more accommodating. I was in need of some foam for a couch and chair and Ken helped me decide on the kind of foam that worked for my needs. When the order came in, Lisa stuffed the three cushions and brought them to my car. I had to bring one back to be resized, no fault of theirs, and Steve cut it to perfection. Incredibly friendly and helpful… I recommend The Foam Store highly.

I have been doing cushions the hard way for years but just bought four large custom bench cushions here, had them dacron wrapped, and it was worth every penny.

I’ve been buying foam for various applications here for years. It’s much more convenient as a location then their headquarters in SF, and the guys who work here are knowledgeable and friendly. I’ve purchased a number of high quality conventional foam mattresses, foam for furniture cushions, latex mattress toppers and pillows here. I can say that their ever-​flex high-​end conventional foam is really great for my sleeping preferences and is very durable — though most others think my mattress is too hard.
For most buyers, I’d suggest buying a firm (v44) conventional foam base of 4−5″ thickness, and top that with a 3″ natural latex layer — you can even get different firmness of latex for the left and right sides of the bed to suit both people who might use a bed. This set up would be much more durable and comfortable than a traditional spring mattress — you’ll get 10 – 15 years of life out of it easily and no sagging and squeaking either.

I cannot recommend this business as far as customer service goes. I have gone in twice within the last 2 weeks. The first time the salesman was busy with another customer and I was not greeted nor even acknowledged. Okay… he was the only person working there so I waited around for about 10 minutes trying to catch his eye. Didn’t even look at me, so I left. Yesterday, I came in and there was no other customer there so we began our discussion of what I wanted etc. Then another couple came in and he asked if he could help them (we were still engaged in our conversation) and they needed to make an exchange. He immediately began helping them without so much as an I’m sorry or excuse me a moment. I was completely ignored while the lengthy exchange was taking place, and after about 10 minutes of this I left. I will not go back again. I cannot rate their product (s) as I never was able to even get anything ordered. I would rate the customer service I received as minus 1.

Okay — full disclosure here. Two years ago, my partner came into this store with the exact same sofa cushions and inquired about getting new foam for them as Ethan Allan uses the cheapest quality of foam in their furniture despite charging premium prices. (But I digress…) He found the sales person to be totally dismissive and of not help whatsoever. He walked out.
Fast forward two years. I return to the shop with the same cushions and encounter a totally different experience. The sales person I encountered was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. He listened to what I had to say and made the appropriate recommendation as to the grade and density of foam needed for sofa cushions on a couch utilized by two larger men.
He quickly did all of his measurement and I was out the door before my quarter ran out on the meter.
As an additional bonus, the cushions arrived almost five days ahead of schedule and the price was certainly right. What’s not to like?!
We’re so pleased with the results that we are already planning on bringing in more of our cheapo Ethan Allan cushions for replacement. Guess that says it all.

My second visit to the store made me a customer for good. While the product was perfect both visits, the customer service was hugely improved. An enthusiastic welcome, knowledgeable assistance and recommendations, and reasonable prices make for a successful purchase. I enjoy taking my business to locally owned businesses whenever possible, take yours here too.
