Hi everyone… This is actually a review of the guests who dine at Chilis in San Ramon. My name is Tom and many of you may know me as I have worked here for nearly 3 years… but that is about to change. I am sad to announce that this restaurant will be closing its doors on 8÷27÷13. I will miss so many of the friends that I have made, both co-workers as well as those who come in to dine. I wish there was a way to call out each and evryone of you, but that might crash the Unilocal server. Please know that you all made the experience of working at this restaurant so enjoyable and you will all be missed. It has always been about the people that come in that has brightened my day!!!

I have eaten here many times and this place never lets me down. Food is very good and service is good too. I had tilapia fish and it’s so delicious., their salad is so fresh and good. I recommend this place and it is good for family setting. Kudos!!!

This Chilis is like any other Chilis. Nothing great or special about them. The service is a hit or miss and the food it either great or bad. Tonight was just«okay». I just asked for chips and it took about 10mins and a reminder, so I didn’t order food because of the slows wait.

I have eaten here several times in the past year. The service is good, the food is good, the ambiance is fine. It’s a Chili’s Grill & Bar. You will find things up to the chain’s standards.

Austin was such an amazing server. He refilled my husbands’ drink 7 or 8 times and our waters several times as well. We got everything we ordered exactly correct, and he always had a great smile and demeanor, no matter how many things we asked for and how difficult we made his job. I definitely hope to get Austin as my server next time I am at Chilis.

Going to Chili’s is like kissing your sister, yeah, it’s a kiss, but it’s nothing to get excited about. One thing I can say about Chili’s is that it is consistent. No matter where you go, which one you go to, the food and drinks are all the same. That’s not a bad thing, it just isn’t that exciting. We went there last weekend after a long day of football games. The place was pretty empty so the service was really fast. That was good. Wifey had a chicken dish and I had a chicken sandwich. Both were pretty decent, hers came with a habenero sauce that was pretty tasty. My sandwich came with a lot of shredded lettuce. But both were ok. They have a full bar which is nice. But their beer selection is limited. So, the wow factor really wasn’t there. I think I would have enjoyed it more if they had a larger selection. Will I be back? Sure, I will someday.

I came here to watch the Raiders game and to enjoy some ice cold beer. Our server was really cool. He seemed to be a really happy fellow which made my experience a happy one as well. I usually don’t like these types of dining, but it is definitely perfect for beer and football.

Cool place, BARISGOOD. I found a screw in my wife’s food a few months back. I still will not go there anymore after that… Been here at least a hundred times, no real issues. The one time she got a salad, we got a HUGE over an inch long screw in her food. They got the manager, who offered to «replace her salad» that was half eaten, or would get her another meal. NOWLETSBEREAL… would you eat more from a place after getting your food ‘screwed with’ lol. NO I thought being I came here so often they might take care of a regular and waive the $ 20 meal, or offer a few drinks… NOTHINGBUT A ‘i can get you another salad’ No thanks. Have not been back in the last 4 months and will not go back.

Last night we went to local Chili’s after the Giants win over the Cardinals and there were only two tables with customers in the whole restaurant. Checked out the menu since we had not been there for so long, I guess they have some fish now. However, I decided to play it safe and ordered the mini bite burgers $ 9.99 and the spicy shrimp tacos $ 10.99. The service was excellent since the servers had such few customers to serve. The shrimp tacos were very good. The burgers were just OK it was supposed to have apple wood bacon on it but it was tiny to say the least. I guess Chili’s is a safe choice for people not wanting to spend the money for Ballpark food and still get a beer and burger at 9 pm in San Ramon.

An evening of meritocracy. The service is reliably slow. The nachos and shredded lettuce are grey. Onion strings are limp, and greasy. The smoked burger was bland and the bun dry. I don’t know why we go back to this place except that about every 6 months we wonder if it has improved, if anything it keeps going down hill. This time we were placed near the bathrooms so my seat had a view into the kitchen and from there I could see foodstuffs on the floor bring stepped on and kicked around and I get a general feeling of dirtiness. The bathrooms were torn up, paper towels were a roll on the sink counter getting soaked on one end, pools of water on the floor.

3.5 Stars This is probably one of the only Chill’s I’ve been to and it’s good. I had Chicken Crispers and they were good and crispy. Another time I had a Bacon Burger here and it was so big I almost didn’t finish. Not a fan of the fries though, too much salt. Friendly service and clean restaurant.

***This review is for Happy Hour in the bar only*** There is a lack of «Happy Hour» spots in this neck of the woods so a lot of us locals frequent Chili’s for happy hour. and the service by Tom, Nicole and Andrew who regularly bartend is awesome! Lots of «regulars» in the crowd and you always feel like its the place where«everybody knows your name» and if they don’t you will make tons of friends immediately. just a great place to hang out. Lots of TV sports on if you are into that or just a good time if you wish to strike up a conversation with others. or just be left alone. Great drink prices. Lots of food items to pick from on the happy hour menu or order off the regular menu and it doesn’t sting the pocketbook!

You have been to one chain restaurant, you have been to them all. Moderately priced, mediocre food pretty much sums it up for most chains. What generally sets one apart from the other for me is the service. My server Nicole was super accommodating. Ahhhh, friendly customer service with a smile; what a lost art.

I usually go to Chile’s for lunch only. The food tastes great but they seem to put an unusually large amount of salt on absolutely everything. My favorites are the Southwestern Egg Rolls and the Boneless Buffalo Chicken Salad. You can usually get out of there for about $ 15 per person as long as you’re not having cocktails.

Sometimes it sucks having a ham & egger type boss. She told me one day that her and her husband looooove Outback Steakhouse. That should clue you in. When she said let’s do a Christmas/Maternity leave lunch for her and I, I knew Chilis was as good as it gets. We even sat in the regular seating in the main restaurant. I only ever sit in the bar seating because it’s usually open and service tends to be better there too. The floor was disgusting where we were seated. I think they were short handed but it was pretty bad. I stuck with my only go to Chili’s staple. Chicken Enchilada Soup with a side salad w/no Croutons. She had regular Chicken Crispers. My food was good but it’s usually good because it’s the best meal here that doesn’t involve to much cooking. They also had unlimited Chips & Salsa. We really didn’t want them but had a few anyways. The server offered to box the chips up for us. No thank you. Service was odd and very slow at cleaning up the area we were in. If I ever do come back it will be only to sit in the bar area for some Soup & Salad.

Stopped in at Chili’s on a cold, rainy, Tuesday night after sitting in traffic for 2 hrs to pick up the hubby at Oakland airport. Got the $ 20 two meal, appetizer special. I had the margarita chicken with veggies instead of rice, hubby and a burger and fries and we had the chips and guac. Our kids had two kids meals. Everyone was great. Our waitress was super nice and accommodating. Shelly Enget, the Manager, came out and gave the girls lollipops after their meal, which was really cool. Is it a Peasant and the Pear? No, but that’s not why you go to Chili’s. You go to get quick, fast foodish food where your kids can be loudish and you can have a casual evening. It fits the bill for sure.

My husband and I have been together for 2 ½ years and have never been to a Chili’s together. Why is this-well neither of us particularly like it and a long time ago both agreed it was the kind of place one might venture into every 5 years or so. Well, we were all trying to figure out what to do for dinner one night and we decided to suck it up and come here. BIGMISTAKE… We were lured in by the 3 courses for $ 20 «deal» and were provided with bad food-with way too much sodium, unprofessional waitstaff(mostly high school or college kids) who all seem to dine there when they are not working as there was more waitstaff visiting with their friends than the actual customers. What was worse is that the manager didn’t seem to care. So, another one of those life lessons… a «deal» is not always such a deal… and it will be a lot longer than 5 years before husband and I venture to another Chili’s again!
