It’s a great restaurant if you’re looking for a place that’s quick and convenient. There’s not many places to eat in the plaza, so I find myself going to King’s Palace quite often. The food consists of basically your standard Chinese dishes. I recommend the beef & broccoli. The meat is always very tender! Also, the sweet and sour chicken is one of my personal faves. The service is overall good, the waitresses are always kind and patient. One thing that bugs me everytime is how they don’t provide chopsticks, unless you ask for them. It’s a Chinese restaurant, shouldn’t chopsticks be a given?

The food is not recommended and staff are not friendly at all. I hope we can have better service in this area.

This is our go to place for take out. We usually call it in and the food is ready for pick up in 15 – 20 minutes. Salt and pepper pork chops are delicious. I’m updating my review and changing my 4 star rating to 1. The last few times we have gotten take out the food has been so disappointing. The salt and pepper pork chops have been tasteless and dry. This is no longer our go to Chinese take out place.

Living in Windermere this is defiantly the closest Chinese food restaurant to my home. It’s not my go to spot but for the location I’ll go there time to time. They always serve good food and will get the job done for those Chinese food cravings.

Online orders are slow. They didn’t even put the order into the kitchen until I got there. Don’t waste your time ordering online.

Good food overall. Not the best honest food but reliably decent. I usually order the duck rice plate for lunch and it’s hit or miss. Sometimes it turns out amazing and other times the duck is cold inside.

Breaded Wings are amazing! Flavorful, crispy outside but not over cooked. Pizza is ok.

It’s quick and cheap and does the job. I’ve dined there with family and they have a cozy dining atmosphere that can be loud at times, but they’re friendly and their food comes fast. If you need take out you can order and have it ready for pick up in 10 mins. I got their Sweet and Sour Shrimp which was AWESOME. THeir noodles and rice are pretty standard as well.

We stopped in for a quick lunch on a Tuesday afternoon after the prime lunch hour had past. The place was not very busy at all but we had to wait a bit before someone noticed us. We were given a table quickly enough but the staff didn’t seem all that friendly nor interested in us. Our order was pretty simple. A Hong Kong style Combination Chow Mein and a Beef Tomato Chow Fun. The beef tomato Chow Fun was not too bad. It was decent in flavor. But, when we finish the dish there was a big puddle of oil in the bottom of the plates. That is a sign of carelessness. The Chow Mein was skimpy on the topping — only two pieces of small shrimp in addition to the few slices of chicken and beef. But the worst part was the sauce. It was overly salty. It just felt like the kitchen really didn’t care. There wasn’t any love and great care taken in the preparation of these two dishes. We will just have to keep looking for a better place in our local neighborhood for Chinese cuisine. Jim

Worse service ever!!! Ordered 2 items to go and it took 30 minutes! This is Chinese food, it’s supposed to be quick. I was the only one waiting at the counter for my food. I had to ask if my Food was ready and it was sitting there. They didn’t even say anything. AND you get way less food if you order To Go. Never again! Plus the food is just average. If you Want food Chinese just go across town and go to Peking Palace or have them deliver.

Food here is pretty good. However, when you go on their website and you choose the delivery method… don’t fall for it. Not sure why they have the option when you call to check on the order and they tell you they don’t have a delivery person. Pretty irritating in my opinion.

Came here for my birthday dinner, because I had gone here a week before that and loved it. Plus the fact that when you’re with a group of people, this type of food is a safe bet for everyone to find something they like. Made a reservation 2 hours before, no problem. Had 8 in our group, and we all ordered the King special on the back page. It’s $ 13 and you get a soda, cup of soup, your choice of entrée with chow mein or fried rice(or half and half) and an egg roll. Pretty damn great deal. Plus, they are gi-fucking-normous portions. Service was great, the first time I went there, my friend’s and I received cold egg rolls, and the server happily brought us freshly hot ones. Lemon chicken, orange peel chicken, spicy garlic chicken, honey walnut prawns, green beans, everything was delicious. All 8 of our entrees came out hot and in a timely manner. ONly took like 10 – 15 mins. Also, had a plum wine, was sweet and delish. Everyone had enough food leftover to take home for another giant meal. Great prices, food and staff.

Love this place. Having grown up in a traditional Chinese household, I know authentic Chinese food when I taste it. Their pot stickers are full of meat and not cabbage fillers, vegetables are fresh and not over cooked and their dishes taste fresh and not too sugary or oily.

We’re fortunate to have a restaurant that serves good food and that is conveniently located close to the grocery, bank, and other service areas. This is a go to place if you’re craving for Chinese cuisine. It has a very casual setting. So it’s 0erfect for us with younger kids. The food is served fast and so far, we have not been disappointed. They’re all tasty and comes in brig serving. I especially like their stir fried veggies and clay pot dishes The veggies are cooked to perfection: cooked, but still crunchy. This is our default place for our Chinese food fix.

Very clean and modern interior. I’ve been coming to King’s Palace with my family for years and it’s been the pinnacle of consistency. Great portions for the price you pay and good service. My recommendation for parties of 4+ is to look at the family set dinners. I’ve had the majority of them all and they have not disappointed. They all follow the same set up being: A tub of rice, soup, vegetable dish, meat dish, seafood dish, and a dessert. It’s hassle free ordering and there’s enough variety for everyone.

Outstanding Chinese food in Gale Ranch, San Ramon! This place doesn’t look like much from the outside, but spacious, clean, and modern interior. The feature a tank with main lobster, dungeness crab, and catfish. We ordered a large lobster, salt and pepper style for $ 18.99 and loved the taste and freshness! The gai-lon, Chinese broccoli was also perfectly cooked and drizzled with oyster sauce. I was surprised with their winter melon soup with spare ribs, it was amazing. Another great item was the emein with leeks and crab meat. I could eat this everyday. :) We got adventurous and order the salty fish with tofu in a clay pot. It smells bad, but tasted so delicious!

I have never had a good experience with King Palace. Yes, the location is convenient to San Ramon residents in the Gale Ranch/Windemere area, however the location does not make up for the poor service and the mediocre food. I definitely do not find myself to be an expert in Chinese cuisine, however, I never cease to feel ill after eating food from King Palace — perhaps my stomach isn’t used to the ingredients in some of the dishes. The few times that we’ve ordered food from here, our orders were mixed up(one time they added the crab — most expensive item on the menu — by accident…) and in the restaurant, service is really quite atrocious. I think a larger staff would definitely do the place SOME justice.

Honestly everyone with a negative review on here is crazy. Bad service means you’re on a crappy date and can’t hold a conversation for the 5 minutes it takes to get your first appetizer. With the $ 12 dinner special, the soup is delicious, the chow mein is great with thick fresh noodles, the fried rice is perfect because it doesn’t have too much soy sauce and fresh vegetables and eggs like it should. I got the General Tso chicken and my lovely date got the Kung Pao chicken and they were both awesome. To be honest, he is a fatty and we both have leftovers which is great. Also, it comes with a fresh veggie egg roll to top. Ignore the ones who say it’s too oily, I only have a couple reviews on here but I’ve eaten at a lot of places and it’s called King Palace for a reason.

I haven’t been here in probably over 2 years. I got food poisoning the last time and well I was pretty happy with China Paradise. Bummer as the interior seems to have deteriorated a bit. New owners perhaps? Interesting comments with 1 stars all to do with the lousy customer service. While I wouldn’t give it a 1 star I can see why there are so many negative reviews unfortunately. I stood there trying to get the attention of anyone– then 5 minutes later got a very gruff hand gesture and an «oy» to come over to the cashier. I had called in an order for pick up on a Mon evening. I came here because China Paradise & Amazing Wok both don’t make one of my favorite dishes– Salted fish fried rice(hom yu). So I ordered it here– pretty good– wish there was a tad more hom yu but we are limited in restaurants so it is what it is. I also ordered salt & pepper pork chop, wor wonton soup and shrimp with walnuts. While portions were on the smaller side(mentioned in other reviews), the taste was ok. So my verdict— when I’m hankering for some hom yu fried rice I’ll likely be back!

Awesome food, great prices and no waiting. I’ve been here twice in the last month and each time the food, service and prices were outstanding!
