Love this place. It’s the only place I go consistently to get my nails done. I usually come in for full sets and pedicures and they’re both always fabulous. And I always get compliments on how good my nails look. It’s definitely hard to find places in the East Bay that are good at non traditional nail shapes and the girls here have it down.

This place is great and the service is always friendly. I used to work next door to this place and get my nails done on my lunch! They were always very accommodating.

I drive down from Concord to come here and I never request anybody specific because they all do a really impressive job. My pedicures last at least a full month before it starts to chip and they have a really great Shellac selection. Also they don’t give off that impression that they’re talking smack about you in Vietnamese that I see at so many nail salons. The name of this salon is well deserved because of how consistent my level of satisfaction is with their work after each visit.

I live in Emeryville and come to Thuy for my nails. That should say a lot to commute for your bi-weekly nails appointment. Their establishment is clean and welcoming. Their staff is accommodating and friendly. They take the time to know you and no one has to do that, they are just nails but they do. Which in reason that when take the time to notice their staff and cliental relationships, it’s there. You can tell a lot of their customers are regulars and that also says a lot about their business. They do great work and have a GREAT selection on colors and designs for crazy fair prices. Come see them, you won’t regret it. Your nails will find their new home here.

I love this place. Sometimes I find myself here for two hours after I’m done getting my nails done just hanging out with the girls. Suzanne, Thuy and Pam always take care of my sister and I here. They’re so friendly and accommodating. The place is always clean and all the other clients here seem to be regulars as well. Prices are great, shellac manicure and a spa pedicure for under $ 50 is almost unheard of in this area. Love love love Quality Nail Design.

The only good thing about this place is Tina. She’s seriously the best and is so damn sweet. But if you’re looking for a warm greeting and the usual friendly customer service smile, not your place. The owners are so fucking rude! Excuse my language… They pick favorites(people who bring in the money) I’ve been going there for years now and you’d think I’ve build a nice little friendship… Nope!!! But anyways. Tina is my girl! She does full sets like a boss. Love her!

I’ve been getting my nails done @ Quality Nail Design for 8 years now and am 100% satisfied. I’ve seen just about every technician but Pam is my go-to. I’ve had acrylic sets, pink & white, regular manis, shellac manis, & pedis, and they’ve all been great. My shellac manis that I’ve been getting the past few years last 2+ weeks. Their color selection is vast & diverse; I love trying out all of the fun new colors they acquire. The prices are reasonable and the service is GREAT — this is why I keep coming back. I can call or text one of the girls and they will fit me in, which I appreciate given our equally hectic schedules. I highly recommend Quality Nail Design if you’re looking for a great job and a competitive rate at a salon where you are remembered by first name & valued as a customer. Everyone here is fantastic but from experience I can personally recommend: Pam, Thuy, Rose, Suzanne, & Tina. Side note: Pam(owner) is so awesome — she sponsored a community project I spearheaded last year that helped feed & clothe homeless men, women, & children in the Bay Area. So thankful for her support!

This place is the worst! Had the most horrible pedi in my life by a complete amateur — probably not even licensed. The«larger sister» is rude and in different — just a complete B! Yuck. Water was scalding hot, the amateur nipping at my toes until they almost bled, crappy color because they dilute it with acetone — just the worst. I should have lit my money on fire in the parking lot… Avoid at all costs!

I’ll never go back. The technicians were rude and unskilled. The environment was tense, argumentative, loud. The atmosphere and service was completely unwelcoming. I witnessed a tech yelling over the speaker on their iphone ordering chinese food while working at the feet of a client, basically yelling into the clients face. My tech and all others walked away on their clients, unconcerned, leaving clients with either scalding hot or freezing cold water. Horribly long unexplained wait times. Zero massage and relaxation during service. All the while that I was present Saturday morning, all clients began complaining about the atmosphere and service with no correction or apology made by staff. Talk about a SCARY pedi… The water was scalding hot, which I had to wait to get someones attention so that someone, anyone would shut it off. The super young tech I had used mini scissors instead of clippers to cut my toenails, leaving my nails misshaped and sharp. Then, she proceeded to grind on my nails with a nail file until she burned through the skin several times. Yes, each time I stopped her. I almost walked out, but was hoping the massage would make it worth my time. I was wrong, the massage was non-existent. It’s been five days since visiting, and my toes are still healing and painful. Never again.

My new favorite nail spot! I started coming here about 5 months ago for Shellac Manicures and I’ve only had great experiences. They have a huge selection of Shellac colors and everyone that I’ve had work on my nails has done a good job. My nails always last 2+ weeks which is rare for me to have a manicure last that long. The prices are very reasonable too. *note* the last time I was there I wasn’t able to put the tip on my card which was a bit of an inconvenience since I rarely carry cash with me.

I’ve been coming here since it opened. Always a good experience and a good value, until recently. The last two times I went the atmosphere was very unpleasant. The first time it was clear that the owner was in the middle of an argument with the two sisters.(Are they all three sisters?) The owner did my nails and was grumbling to a customer(and the rest of us within earshot) about some argument over a trip to Las Vegas, and how ungrateful her sister was.(I really don’t want to hear this stuff when I’m there for a nice, relaxing manicure.) The bad mood of the owner translated into a rougher job on my nails that day. I figured this was a bad day for her, and didn’t want to let it affect all the years I’ve gone and enjoyed it. So I went back again yesterday. Totally unpleasant again. There were only a couple of customers in the salon, and three or four employees. I didn’t hear any grumbling or complaining — they didn’t talk to each other almost ATALL. The tension was palpable. I couldn’t wait to get out of there. I will probably go back and give them one more try, but DANG. A manicure salon is about personal service. Save your arguments for when you’re in private. Put on a smile and be gracious to your customers, or they won’t be your customers much longer.
