I like that Tea Au Lait has a large variety of teas, but definitely overpriced for boba, and the tapioca is inconsistent — some days they’re perfectly chewy and other days they taste like they’ve been sitting there all day and gotten soggy. Going to the cheap Asian places in Fremont would probably be a better steal.

I ordered the chocolate with boba. The boba was pretty good and the chocolate tasted great. Moreover, it was cold enough without ODing on ice. Nutella crêpe was pretty good too. I just wish they were open later… damn tri valley.

craving some pearl milk tea! so we came here after leave sakura. with a name like tea au lait, i thought it was some french place and wasn’t sure if they had pmt at first, but luckily they had a poster on the door that proved otherwise. i ordered the regular pearl milk tea. i actually like mine with more milk, while my coworker who ordered the same thing likes her with more tea flavor… so you cant please both. good to her, just ok to me! haha they also give you a selection of what you want with your tea — boba large or small, assortment of jellies. they also have crepes, bento boxes, and sandwiches. normal prices for them i felt. perhaps i’ll try a crêpe next time

The tea here is really good — nice, chewy boba and an awesome Thai iced tea. Had their savory cheese crepes a couple of times, though, and it tasted sweet at the same time. Really strange, and a little gross, but their other crepes are good. Major letdown, though? This place always smells really strange on the interior. I say«strange» because I like them too much to say bad. It doesn’t make me want to sit in there with my food, sadly.

I love the jasmine milk tea with boba at Tea Au Lait! The only problem is that this place is NEVER open. They aren’t open Sundays and have been closed on more than two or three occasions on the business days that they are supposedly open. I would give them more stars, but the hours of operation are so inconsistent that I can’t make it here as often as I’d like.

The Royal Milk Tea was good and the boba consistency was chewy. The service was very friendly and they even gave a free sample.

I immediately noticed a «Caffe Trieste» sign outside and they were already getting positive points for that. Unfortunately I do not know if the milk tea has any of that coffee — I doubt it. Regardless, it was good. It’s not called«regular milk tea» but«royal milk au lait» or some fancy BS. The flavor was good and not too sweet. Boba was of medium chewiness — I like softer but that’s just personal preference. I’ve had better boba milk tea for less than $ 3.40 but if it’s a typical 100-degree day in San Ramon, then sure why not.

We went there for the wi-fi(you have to buy something there to use it), HUGE selection of teas, so I got a Green Tea Latte Frappé — it was quite tasty. It was $ 4.70 for a medium size. I think it’s a little overpriced, but in San Ramon it may be the going price. Service was just OK, not very friendly. Would I go there again? Yes. I want to try their Nutella crepes and some more blended tea drinks. Plus they are the only free wi-fi place we could find in San Ramon.

There’s something charming and relaxing about this little tea shop. They offer a wide selection of loose leaf teas, tea drinks and coffee drinks(the coffee is from Caffe Trieste). The drinks include tea freezes, tea with milk, tisanes(herbal infusions), boba tea, tea floats and more. The milky tea float is made with royal tea and vanilla ice cream. The menu includes crepes, cookies and pastries, making this a nice spot for breakfast, lunch or just a snack. I had their veggie crêpe($ 7.50). It was huge. The crêpe part was nice — thin, soft, slightly sweet. The crêpe was filled with cheese, corn, tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms, avocado and a drizzle of brown mushroom sauce. I didn’t like the sauce — it didn’t have much flavor other than some saltiness. The canned corn flavor was overwhelming. The red bean pearl tea didn’t have too much ice and it wasn’t too sweet, but some of the beans were hard. However, it’s good that they make it with real beans vs. powder. The boba balls were very sweet but not too soggy, hard or mushy. The décor is on the plain side with posters that describe different teas. Service was friendly but quite slow. They have a bonus card for the drinks, buy 10, get 1 free. $ 10 credit card minimum.

I returned to Tea Au Lait to enjoy a delicious cup of tea, try a sandwich, and utilize their free wi-fi to get some work done. This time I chose a jasmine green tea that was lovely and delicious and made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I also ordered their veggie sandwich on wheat that was also very delicious. It was stuffed full of a variety of fresh veggies that filled me up but not in a heavy way. The woman who works there is incredibly nice and takes the time to answer questions and give out samples. I am looking forward to trying more teas from their extensive selection. It is going to take me a while but I am up for the challenge.

Love, love, love this place! The best selection of teas and crepes — the girls that work there are knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend it: o) (the texas toast with Nutella is a great splurge)

3.5. Nice selection of tea and there’s always one you can sample. The lady who helped me asked what kind of tea I was looking for and made a few recommendations, letting me smell some of the tea. You can get your tea hot, cold, sweetened, with milk, with boba, etc., basically however you want it. The berry green tea I had smelled great but lacked fruit flavor, so eh. Only ever had the savory crepes, and they’re mighty tasty. A crêpe’s around 7 bucks, but they’re huge and filling. Note: They make your tea and crepes fresh, so it’s not fast food. You can definitely linger there awhile with a book or chatting with a friend. They used to have free wifi but I’m not so sure anymore.

This place has a robust selection of really yummy teas. Great hot or cold. Not so great: I’ve tried ordering boba with my tea three or four times, and each time I’ve tried it, it’s awful. Always too hard or way too soft. Service is also slow. Haven’t tried their food so I can’t say speak to it. As far as price goes, their teas are more expensive than the teas you’ll find at Peet’s or Starbucks down the street, however this place does pride itself for their specialty drinks. I would recommend this place to folks who are huge fans of tea and are looking for something unique, but if you are a cutomer looking for a basic English Breakfast tea, maybe you’re better off somewhere else…

This place gives me a chance to use my bad fake English accent: Me: «Would you like a spot of tea. my love?» R: «Why certainly. Earl grey please.» Me: «Milk with that?» R. «Of course, my dear. You think I would drink my tea like a commoner? Without milk? Am I from the colonies?» Me: «„ELLO! ‘ERE’S A MASHER! LOOKAT ‘ISCOLLARAN’ ‘AT!“»(stolen from an old English cartoon) R: «Do you think they have Earl Grey with Psilocybin. It’s been a dreadfully long time since we last had that.» This is a lovely little place that makes a proper tea. Served in a small pot in a proper tea cup — not a coffee mug or cardboard cup with plastic lid. This, BTW, means casual service. Proper tea takes a few minutes to brew, plus set up time. So expect at least 5 minutes for you tea, but it’s done right. The crepes are pretty good too. They are large and filling, though the last time we were there one of the crepes wasn’t quite done enough. I haven’t tried the smoothies with boba or any other balls of stuff in them. Maybe next time. Actually, probably not. I’ll stick to the tea The kids can get the smoothies. So if you want tea, you can go to Starbucks or Petes and get you standard bag tea. Or you can come here and get tea served the way it is meant to be served. No Psilocybin though.

Tea Au Lait is a very good and nice place. They have good prices, good drinks– I loooooove the Boba(tapioca…hehe). Make sure you know what you are ordering, before you get it and throw it out. The flavors are good, the little snacks are good, nothing amazing though. Also, the couches are kinda weird, dunno why, but just are. I recommend this place to everyone… have fun!

Being a total tea junkie, I was pretty ecstatic finding this place when it first opened. Very good blended teas, with premium teas used in their blends such as the jasmine pearls used in their«I love rose» tea. Most of their hot teas are pretty good, and even though I’m not particularly fond of some of the iced teas, their peach black tea, green tea smoothie, and some of their juice blends are pretty tasty, and you can ask for any of your favorite hot teas iced as well. They do serve up some delicious crepes and pastries, with friendly service and a great atmosphere. I’ve gone back numerous times since the first discovery, and highly recommend this cute little tea shop to any tea lovers out there!

This is a ten minute walk from where I work so sometimes, when I’m feeling a little too Monday, I venture here for a lift. Let’s cut to the chase… I am not into Boba. After the nasty Tapioca-Pearl-Sneeze projectile incident I really have not ventured down that path again. What shines here are the Estate Teas. I was skeptical at first. $ 3.00 for a freakin’ cup of tea? Ummm, cup of hot liquid bliss was more like it. First time I went for the Jasmine Dragon Pearls Green Tea. Awesome. Second time, I ordered same. From then on, the willowy tea goddess that runs the place made suggestions… try this, try that… I think I’ve had every green tea and most of the oolongs. Out-Fricking-Standing. So yesterday at work I’m feeling pissy and I head back here after months away. The willowy tea goddess A) recognizes me, B) greets me with my name like a long lost friend, C) suggests another awesome tea. I have eaten here and the food is a tad pricey and service is slow. Slow is most likely because there is one person running the whole place. However, I have to say that it is good. Décor??? Ikea meets Target. But who cares? I have yet to have Milk Tea or Fruity Tea stuff. Just not my cup of tea for the most part. I say, if you need a lift, hit it for the Estate Teas…

Janice says: –A little overpriced and menu was confusing to people who don’t usually have tea. How to decide? –Actually went in to get a latte or something and they were nice enough to put it in my mug that I brought. So NICESERVICE. –haven’t tried the food. They are probably trying to make it like a young hang out area with mags and stuff, but i’m not sure if it’ll work in this area. I don’t usually have cravings for tea, except for at night, so I don’t think i’ll go back. But it’s a cute hidden place.

I went to Tea Au Lait due to a much needed boba fix after Sakura Sushi. We hunted and hunted for it and realized it was right next to Sakura. Felt so dumb. Anyways, the place is cute, and the people super nice. The owner was there to make me my red bean milk tea with boba. The tea itself was good, but the boba was inconsistent. Some were perfect, some were hard, some were too soft. It was like the Goldilocks and the Three Bears, but in one drink. For the boba I give this place a 2. I will go back though to taste the food. They have a good deal if you buy a savory crêpe you get a free tea =) Only problem is that the crepes are expensive around $ 7 – 8(tax included). I hope they’re huge and flavorful, otherwise I will be sad.

I, too, was taken in by a «compliment» I had received. Very sneaky… I felt SO used after I read that. But, after I got over it, I decided to check the place out. My friend and I had gone in after lunch to pick up some boba as dessert. As we’re talking towards the place, we a) find out that they serve crepes, savory AND sweet; and b) try the sample of lychee black tea available outside. The tea was really good. The balls were a little hard and chewy. :) Upon my second visit to this place, my co-worker and I decided to try out their menu. What makes Tea au Lait not another boba place is the variety of their menu. Besides the numerous types of tea that fill the menu, are salads, hot & cold sandwiches, sweet & savory crepes, and yummy-looking desserts. THEGOOD — The tea(of course). Recommend: Lychee Black Tea and I Love Rose Tea — Crepes Recommend: Savory — Chicken Club. Sweet — Nutella & Banana(not on the menu, but just ask!) THEBAD — The service is not really«slow», per se. But if you’re in a hurry or are starving to the point where you can’t take anymore, service will seem like forever. Best advice if you’re in the area is to call ahead and pick up. Tea au Lait is a perfect addition to the growing food scene in San Ramon. Crepes AND boba in one place? You gotta love it.
