Great sandwiches and pleasant staff! Location wasn’t amazing, not a lot of parking and no view outside. The inside was okay, could use a Robert Irvine remodel for sure. But he gentleman that made our subs was very kind. He chatted with us while he made our subs. I asked for a piece of bread to make my son a peanut butter sandwich on. He was kind enough to give it to us for free!

Subs were ok at best. But what is irritating is the staff. We came in 30 minutes to close on Sunday, by the time we were checking out the girl working said we couldn’t eat there since they were closing soon. Ummm what? We were taking our food to go anyway but if we wanted to eat there, 20 minutes is plenty of time to eat. So I said ok, it’s a long drive back home so I went to go use the restroom and she said I couldn’t since she just cleaned it. Are you kidding me!!! Screw this place. We won’t be back. There’s also a sign above the register something about Unilocal reviews, well go figure, hire better employees and you won’t have this issue!

Best subs ever! Soprano sub is our favorite. I don’t understand the poor reviews.

Updating my previous review to add some more detail for the owner. Did you know if you post a negative review of his shop he will send you a private message? But that’s not the point; back to my review. It was clear from my last visit that this is now strictly a sandwich shop. The salad topping selection is similar to but less abundant than that of subway. Pickles and peppers are not something I would enjoy in a salad, so please excuse the lack of those in the last picture I posted. As far as the tuna in the photo, I called it plain because typically tuna salad has things like onion, celery, etc which this tuna did not. The chips and bottled water were excellent! The owner refunded me for the salad, which was nice but doesn’t change that I would never come here for a salad. I might have tried a sandwich but after my experience with the owner and knowing of better places(caseys in the village, mals market seaside, compagnos Monterey etc) I’ve decided I won’t go back there, not even for chips.

I don’t even want to give a star. Ordered a turkey bacon avocado. First they only had one type of bread. For the day. Then seriously put one piece of bacon on the sandwich… ONE. For the sandwich prices I feel like that was not worth it at all.

Went here again after a long time of not coming here. It was ok. Seemed like they were under staffed tho. The girl putting the sandwiches together and doing the register seemed a little overwhelmed. I felt bad for her. The sandwiches seemed a little thinner than when I used to go here. I mean it was good tho.

I was surprised by the negative reviews for Jersey Subs. They cut your deli meat in front of you, the vegetables are fine, the prices are fair, and the bread is much better than what you would get at a chain shop(cough Subway cough. .. much more generous helpings of meat than Subway offers, too). I had no problems with the service we received. I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way to go to Jersey Subs — I generally prefer more vegetables on my sandwiches — but I’ll definitely be back next time I get my car serviced. From the nearby automall, it’s an easy walk to Jersey Subs, then to the beach to enjoy a satisfying lunch.

There was nothing wrong with the sandwich. It was not great it was not bad it was overpriced for what I got but to me that did not warrant a review. Your employee was the reason I left a negative review. I did not did not list her name so I am not directly singling her out to the community. A little background on myself I am 40 years old have been going to restaurants for many years. I worked in the catering industry for 5+ years while in high school and college. In all my years of going to restaurants this was the worst service that I have ever had. Myself and a coworker were literally the only ones in the restaurant and we waited for approximately 5 – 8 minutes waiting to order a sandwich while your employee was in the back washing dishes. She made eye contact with us several times but never said«ill be right there» or acknowledged that we were even there. It seemed like she was hoping that we will leave so she did not have to make our sandwiches. Please review your video records and you will see that I am describing the details exactly. She then seemed annoyed that my coworker who was a vegetarian had already made up his mind since your menu has very limited vegetarian sandwich choices and I was still looking at the menu since you have so many choices for us meat lovers. I asked her if she could just make his sandwich while I made my decision. I cannot remember her exact words but they were something like«well then I will have to go all the way down the line again» and she sat there staring at me while I waited to make my decision. Again please review your video records and you will see that this is also 100% accurate statement. If your intention was to operate an overpriced sandwich shop with poor customer service you have succeeded. And if I can persuade one person to not frequent your business then I have succeeded as well.

I have been going to Jersey subs for a number of years. Customer service in person and over the phone were good. The last time I have visited however wasn’t as good. the sandwiches are delicious. And the prices are resonable. my reason for the 2 star rating is the customer service. My boyfriend and I stopped in there on a Sunday. I have brought a small list with me because I’m purchasing sandwiches for my boyfriend, myself and my parents. When the worker notice that I brought a list, she seemed annoyed. She begin making the sandwiches for a few minutes. When she start working on mine, I then realized that I have forgotten to ask her for cheddar cheese instead of provolone. She cut the provolone and placed it on the bread. After I have apologised and asked her if I could have cheddar instead of provolone, she grew even more annoyed at me. Body language speaks a lot. shortly after she started making our sandwiches, she went into the back room without saying a word to us. Another worker arrived to help finish the sandwiches while the girl that was helping us in the beginning went to talk to her friends that where on the opposite end of the counter. afterwards, once our sandwiches were finished, one girl wrap them up for us while the other rung us up at the register. body language and attitude speaks volumes. The sandwiches were very delicious but the customer service was very poor.

Never going to be returning to this establishment. Ordered a capo, got ham, salami and 3 tiny slices of bacon. When I pointed out that there was no capicollo the guy working behind the counter rudely said the lady already made your sandwich, and didn’t do anything to address the fact that they didn’t make the sandwich per their own menu. Figure it’s representative of Jersey though. Armpit of America and apparently the dining experience in the area.

I hadn’t been in this place in 10 years. I use to come in here a lot when I worked in Seaside and I was very happy to see this place still in business. I can not speak on their hot sandwiches but their cold subs are awesome! The Jersey sub is my favorite. The bread the have is soft and tasteful. The meats they offer are sliced freshly while they make your sandwich, which you just do not see anymore. Highly recommend the Jersey Sub for any one looking for great cold sub.

Highway robbery for a sandwhich. Spent over 12 for a sandwhich and chips. It was smallest size and was not the best. Waited over 20 minutes with only 2 people in front of me. I can’t imagine the rent being so high to justify these prices with the quality of sandwhich. I’d rather go to subway and I hate subway

Husband and I were pretty hungry for subs and didn’t want Subway so we thought we would try this place! I’m so glad we did. I feel pretty horrible walking in like 10 mins before closing when it seemed only one person was on staff at the time, but the gal was awesome! She took lots of care and made sure the subs were made right. Husband got the Capo on wheat, and I got the South Side Jersey on sourdough. It was good! Normally I expect pretty cruddy cold cuts but the turkey was really tasty and they didn’t skimp on the avocado either! After all the toppings the subs were huuuuge. About the same as what we’d pay for Jimmy John’s back home but bigger! We will be back for sure.

SUB-STANDARD So I was here a few days ago while waitIng for my phone at Verizon hence not being able to check in. . My husband and I were drawn in by a fabulous looking sign of a juicy and fresh thickly sliced tri tip sandwich! Yum! We hadn’t been here before and love sub sandwiches so we were all in! We both commented as we entered that it was odd that at the height of lunch of lunch hour and the place looked like a Barron desert. .I think I saw some tumbleweed blow by as we entered… We made the short trek to the order counter and had already decided that we would split a large tri tip on sourdough. .I could’ve and should’ve watch the lady make the sandwich.. that was a major fail on my part! I went back to the counter after I was waived over that or food was ready.. With the drink was a little over $ 22. I scurried over to where my hubby anxiously awaited this beautiful sandwich among sandwiches! I happily tore open the paper!!! Then… Wa Wa Wa… We both sat there in disbelief at the sad pathetic… excuse for a tri tip sandwhich that was set before us… My hubby picks his jaw up off the floor and says«uhh you first??» I looked at him and decided to take one for the team. I mean how bad could this shredded beef concoction really be right? Well as you probably guessed it. it was not bad… it was epic… and not in the good way… Super salty dry and for lack of a better word yuck! I reached over gave the hubby a smack and a dirty look and said«you owe me big time!!» We both ultimately decided to go ahead and attempt to eat this… sub-standard concoction… I am just going to add that never try this at home fellow Unilocalers unless your planning on spending your day within 20 feet of a restroom lol .Tip of the day. If it’s not as described and it looks sad and pathetic for goodness sakes send it back!!! We would gotten more sustenance from yhe wrapper and better flavor too! What a shocker. we won’t back…

Been going here for a number of years and have never been disappointed by the food or the service. I enjoy talking to the owner when he is there. This place always reminds me of Port O Subs I used to go to in the Fresno area. The bread here is so good and compliments the filling so nice. My favorite is the Dagwood and the pastrami. Simple yet delicious

The second time I took m boyfriend and daughter to Jersey Subs was not a pleasant experience. The girl who made our sandwiches was great and prepared them quickly. WHen the owner went to ring them up was when we experienced the WORST customer service ever. We ordered a kid sandwich for my 2.5 year old and when the girl told the manager/owner it was a kids sandwich he immediately started arguing with her and measuring it, telling her it was a regular because it was longer than 4 inches. He was SO concerned with the size of the sandwich that he didnt even pay attention to what I was saying I wanted to drink. He actually had to ask me 3 times. I felt horrible for the poor girl not to mention that fact it was COMPLETELY unprofessional… I am a manager where I work and I almost wanted to offer the poor girl a job so she could get the h*** out of there… It was clear the management/owners are more concerned with inventory than customer satisfaction and employee well being that I WILL N EVERGOBACK to this place ever again…

Jersey’s leaves a bit to be desired in terms of service… as each time I’ve gone the place is never packed… so not a lot of reason for less than stellar service. Now I’m not saying their people are horrible… they are plenty friendly… just no real hustle. And when someplace is empty, you should get your food much more quickly than what they seem able to do. Now, the important part… taste. Jersey’s sandwiches have a flavor uniquely their own… and I love that flavor. Which is why I continue to go there on occasion… but while I love the flavor of their sandwiches… I’m not a fan of the price. They are a bit skimpy on the meat and cheese, considering the size of their bread… but also especially when compared to other sandwich places in Monterey. All in all, I’ll continue going here for the unique flavor… it’s very good… but only when I happen to be in the area and I’m in the mood for a sandwich.

I decided to eat here earlier today while waiting for my tires to be rotated at Costco. I should have just gone to the food court because this place was a huge disappointment. I ordered a large hot pastrami sandwich on white bread. The pastrami was whatever. They skimp on the meat portions, the vegetables are limited, not fresh, and they microwave the bread! What the F**k!!! Are you sh*tting me! For a $ 10 I expected to get the bread toasted, not effin microwaved. That completely ruins the bread! I don’t know what they are thinking over there!!! Final Thought: Never Again!

While waiting for my tires to get rotated at Costco, I decided I would skip the food court; was hard as to hell to do so, but as a foodie I need to explore the surrounding areas to see what I can discover. This exploration led me to Jersey’s Sub. I have no idea what makes a «Jersey’s Sub» different from Subway or Quizanos but decided it was a great learning experience. I ordered a Large Hot Pastrami on sourdough bread. Like most sub shops they allow you to pick your produce but their selection was limited. Ironically, they offer more variety of produce in their salad bar area than their sub making area. The pastrami was alright but lacked a strong flavor profile. As for the bread, it was decent but nothing to brag about. Overall Thoughts Wasn’t bad but wasn’t good either; I still don’t know what separates Jersey’s Sub from other sub shops.
