Went twice in a few days as we are not into chain restaurants — especially when traveling. The garlic knots/bowties are so darn delicious! Ribs fell off of the bone, and the pasta was cooked to perfection. Only gripe would be the kids pasta sauce was a bit watery and saw some confused servers/food runners both visits. Minor, but strange.

I was in Sandusky on business and came in for dinner. I enjoyed the food and tried the local beer selection. The food was good. They had a good selection of different pizzas and pastas, which is my favorite. I would recommend this as a good, local food stop. It hit the spot.

Other reviewers have raved about the pizza. I obviously made a mistake… I ordered the chicken parm… and it was inedible… tasted like a banquet frozen dinner that got microwaved too long. Consistency of the chicken was shoe leather. Oh and the ‘marinara’ on the noodles… tasted like it came out of a jar of really cheap spaghetti sauce. They charge $ 18.00 for this travesty. On a scale from 1 to 10(10 = excellent): bread sticks-10, marketing-10, décor-10, service-8, ability to prepare non-pizza meal-1. Do yourself a favor if you go to Danny boys: Stick with the pizza.

Wow! This place is amazing! We were greeted with smiles, our waitress Tabby did a wonderful job, and the pizza pies are fab! The breadsticks are fantabulos too! It was gooey buttery and super tasty. We had a bottle of Red Rock Merlot with our dinner. It was great; raspberry and blackberry tannins. Not overwhelming nor bitter. Just right for pizza. We had the BBQ pizza and it was excellent. The cheese and sauce were very good. We also had the the chicken and berry salad. So yummy! Our waitress hooked us up with some games«tick tack toe» and«bowling board» for our kids. It was a great idea to help us relax. She was great! We will be back!

A good Italian meal, great service & fun atmosphere. I had the ½ meal of Shrimp Angelhair pasta, a bit short on the shrimp(I counted 3) but good flavor overall. Excellent Moscato wine & fun to play cards while waiting on our order.

Our server went above and beyond to make sure everything was ok.

I wanted to write another review, because I revisited Danny Boys, and plan to continue going. I tried a couple of new items and wanted to review them. I tried the oven baked turkey reuben melt, and a new citrus salad that was on the menu. I enjoyed the reuben, although I thought it could use a little more coleslaw. They put coleslaw instead of sauerkraut on theirs, which I actually enjoyed. I asked the waitress about the chicken citrus salad and she said that it had a lot of berries(blackberries, strawberries, blueberries etc.) and that it looked delicious, although she had not tried it yet. It really didn’t have those things, with the exception of strawberries, but it was okay. I personally think it tastes similar, but not quite as good as the DB’s Bistro salad, and I was confused as to why it is called citrus; maybe the dressing had a little citrus fruit in it? I’m not sure. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. A member of our party was really in the mood for a BBQ«woogie», which they didn’t have on the menu, so they put one together just for her. I tried it and it tasted great. We had the wonderful fluffy delicious bread sticks again, as well as the garlic cheese bread. Everything was wonderful and I think that everyone took home leftovers! We had two toddlers with us and both ordered the children’s spaghetti and neither would eat it, but that could just be because they were kids being kids. We will definitely be revisiting and recommend everyone give them a try! Visited October 2015

Stopped by on the drive to Pittsburgh & the food was pretty amazing. The service was excellent & the ambience outside was very peaceful & mic3. We waited over an hour for the machine to start working so we can pay & leave. Fortunately everything else made up for thr extremely long wait.

Nice place for some fun food. Pizza, subs, and large portions are this places thing. Service is good as staff were very friendly. Not a place to go if your looking to eat healthy, although they do have salads… way to many tempting items to just simply order the greens.

I gave it a 4 only because the cook staff botched my wife’s pulled pork fold over order. She wanted it without the jalapenos and onion rings. It ended up getting remade but because they actually make stuff here and don’t microwave it… it took way too long and by the time she was done eating a couple of the best breadsticks on planet earth she was full. Truthfully we all could have stopped with the breadsticks. I’m a business advisor and one of my prospects owns a few restaurants. The first thing I did was come home from our Kalahari vacation and tell him to visit this place. They had menu items I’d never seen. I had a meatball sub and it was absolutely amazing. The waitress and manager(maybe owner) was amazing and talkative and made you feel at home. It’s hard to give it a 4 and though they comp’d us a $ 3.99 dessert pizza(which was amazing too) it didn’t make up for what should have been a free entrée. I’d have just told the customer — «hey, we botched this. The entrée is on us, we put it in the box and btw… would you like a dessert on us?» With all that said I can’t wait to go again I’ll just be less likely to ask for anything too custom. This place is amazing. NOTE: If you’re visiting Kalahari you’ll realize real quick they upped their prices and reduced their portions. Danny Boys is a 2 minute drive from Kalahari and the food is A1. I won’t knock Kalahari’s food though. It’s decent. But their prices and portions are now bordering on Disney prices.

Was very happy with my dinner and Danny Boys! The breadsticks were homemade and great and my meal(Cajun chicken pasta) was delicious

I was pleasantly surprised when we walked into Danny Boys. The place is warm and friendly, with décor that somewhat reminds you of an Italian Bennigan’s. That actually doesn’t bother me — I found it welcoming. Wait staff was friendly, attentive, and quick to serve us. I ended up ordering a «Woogie» sandwich(basically a calzone), breadsticks, and a side salad. The salad was underwhelming, but the breadsticks were out of this world! They were freshly baked, perfectly seasoned, and served warm. The«Woogie» itself was extremely good — cheese was melted consistently, flavors were balanced. I was honestly surprised that a calzone could taste that good! We declined dessert(though I’m second guessing that now). Bar selection was pretty good — beer list was surprisingly diverse. This isn’t a 5-star restaurant with a celebrity chef. But it is a solid, tasty, friendly neighborhood joint that I will absolutely return to when I’m next in town.

!!!CELIACSBEWARE!!! I called this restaurant ahead of time asking about a gluten free menu. I was told on the phone that they had a full gluten free menu. When we got to the restaurant I was told they only had a «low gluten menu»(which only had 3 options on it). As a celiac, «a low gluten menu» isn’t an option. So I was stuck with a salad yet again for another meal.

Great food and great service. The portions are definitely big. Our waitress was awesome(Katy). Our favorite was the white chicken chili. The pizza was also a hit. A must try! Bacon and cheese fries needed more bacon and cheese. The chicken in the bg chicken bistro was overly seasoned and really salty. Overall we would definitely come back.

We are looking N the area on vacation and stumbled across this place(thanks to Unilocal!) The service is great the first time around but is slow today. The server said there is a large party but that’s not my fault. I hate to but i am deducting a star for the slow service. The food is delish and abundant. The two dollar sign($$) price range on Unilocal is misleading. The portions are HUGE and very sharable. We are currently here for our second visit in as many days, had to come back on our way out of town! We ordered the Taco Foldover(w/grilled chicken) and a order of the awesome breadsticks and marinara sauce. Today’s food portion of the tab is less than $ 25 and I’m feeding four adults, can’t possibly beat that. Yesterday we had the Pepperoni Chicago Style pizza, it was better than the ones I’ve had INCHICAGO. And the BLT Foldover(Ekvis style with peanut butter) was awesome as well. It’s a long way from home but almost worth the drive! ;) BTW, changed my mind on the star rating, the food was worth the wait.

Driving though, headed back to CA, I have to confess I didn’t have high expectations. I ordered the pesto chicken flatbread with no goat cheese. It came with goat cheese, and that’s where my low expectations ended. Jessica, my server, came over and apologized, then brought my side order so I could«at least start with something». Small detail but helpful for a hungry traveler! The meal, when it came, was absolutely delicious. Tender chicken, artichoke, balsamic vinaigrette– yum! Service was outstanding, food was great!

The salad was HUGE — couldn’t finish it. Pretty tasty, too. My dad seemed happy with his meatball sub. The waitresses were extremely helpful, especially because I need to eat gluten-free because of allergies. They have a menu called«low gluten» that is actually gluten-free, but they can’t guarantee there won’t be any cross-contamination. I know it’s exactly the same as any other gluten-free menu, but calling it «low gluten» freaked me out and I didn’t order from it. They did tell me that they make the Italian dressing in the restaurant and there’s no gluten in it. I got that on a chicken s

Huge portions. Delish fluffy buttery bread sticks. Frank Fries trio were awesome. The woogies(like a calzone) were uniquely good but a bit too filling, especially after having the breadsticks. The service was very good. They have microbrews on tap which is appreciated. I gave it 4 stars bc everyone in my group liked it quite a lot but I am mostly vegetarian and there were very few good options for me. All the salads are very meat(chicken)-centric and not enough dark greens. Not at all good if you are vegan or gluten free bc everything has cheese and/or white refined grains. The cheese trio on the pizzas was not flavorful and was gooey in a not good way.
