We ate at the Thirsty Pony while on a trip to Cedar Point. It is convenient and located right outside the Cedar Point gates. The atmosphere is friendly and fun. My son ate a cheese pizza which he described as «alright but not life changing». I got a fish sandwich which was tasty. My sandwich came with a bag of chips but I substituted the fries which were very good. The pasta salad was also very good but was in a tiny little cup and was only about 2 bites. I also had a margarita which was horrible. I didn’t drink more than a few sips. I didn’t complain but feel like if I had they would have cheerfully made me another. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. The price was very good at around $ 40 including a 20% tip. I would recommend it and would definitely go back and give it another try the next time I’m in Sandusky.

Their wings were great; we had the Sweet Teriyaki and the Hot — crispy wings under the sauce. Also had a very good bacon burger. We will definitely come back here on our return trip to Cedar Point.

This place was amazing. After 3 days at cedar point the wife and I struck out 2 nights in a row with horrible dinners. Until we went to this restaurant. We had the best waiter«Antoine». Besides the food being delicious and the surroundings being great Antoine was the main driving force for why we had the best dinner ever. When we come back up this way we will ensure we make a point to dine at the thirsty pony due to the great service and great prices. Keep it up

I have never had such a horrible experience here.. 20 min for a drink. 1 hour 45 minutes for our food while others before us had ate and left to finish a night of rides at the park. We now have no time to enjoy our evening. A $ 100 evening of dinner for four was Compt 50%. Smart choice on management. Good food if it was hot. But this was bad. Stay clear. Amanda was a great bartender! Management needs to give her backup

I hate Ohio, and when I say hate I mean it. After eating here, there are 2 good things to come out of Ohio. First and most important, bone thugs n harmony, second is chicken wings here!!! Great service from Sierra, and the atmosphere was amazing. I will be back on ‘tha first of the month’

Visited the TP while on a family vacation. It was a comfortable place for kids. We ordered a turkey Reuben, Thirsty Bam burger, bacon burger, and a steak. All were very good quality and portions. Waitress asked my kids if they wanted fries or tots, both are an extra charge. This annoys me because the kids don’t understand that she is trying to up-sale… Anyway. The pepper jack and bacon mashed potatoes that are on the side menu options were delicious. Seriously, do yourself a favor and stop in just for these. Wow, they are good! Extensive bar menu. Many varieties of fruity drinks that come in vessels of various shapes. Good beer selection, too. In all, worth stopping in.

Attention Mike Sertino: everyone here sucks except for Scott. Give Scott a raise. Or at least a free beer.

Great food, decent drinks, good service! In town for the weekend for Cedar Point and wanted to try something local. The food was very good! I had a chicken sandwich and my boyfriend had a Chubby Hubby burger both were awesome and amazing French fries! We also had the nachos(½ order) they were good but needed more chips. I had a Blue Breeze which was good my boyfriend got a Coors Light on draft he said it was warm and kinda flat. Our server was very nice but super quiet. The main guy seating people and walking around(maybe a manager?) was a little odd. Overall decent experience and would probably go back!

Atmosphere was 5 stars Service was 5 stars Food was 3 stars: Fries are amazing but wraps and chicken wings weren’t that great. People kept ordering the hamburgers, they looked awesome we regretted our choice I posted some pictures, prices were roughly about $ 10 – 15 based on what you ordered. I’d rather go to Denny’s.

Stopped in here for lunch around noon on a Wednesday. We were the only table in the front, with a few people sitting at the bar. The menu was pretty big so it took awhile to make a selection. I chose the Cilantro Lime Chicken Sandwich and my coworker picked the Sloppy Pig. The food came out in a timely manner but it was not at all what I expected. The menu says you get chips as a side however it’s just a bag of chips and the pasta salad is in a tiny soufflé cup. The Cilantro Lime Chicken was to be topped with cilantro, lime vinaigrette dressing, avocado, and mozzarella. My sandwich had lettuce, mozzarella, and onion(???). A bag of chips, friend pickle, and chicken breast for $ 11?! It was just a dull chicken breast, but by the time I realized our waitress was gone and didn’t return until she handed us our checks. When she handed me the sandwich she said it was boring, and now I see why! Also during our time there another table came in after us. They were greeted and served drinks. Like I said the menu is large so they needed some time to order but the waitress never checked on them after that. The man had to walk up to the bar to place their order which they had to take to go. I’ve been a server myself but with two tables in the dining room there’s no excuse to be so inattentive. The atmosphere was busy, but a good busy, upon visiting we found this place on Unilocal and I really wanted to like it! Unfortunately I feel like parts of the dining room have never been dusted and the menu never wiped. The second star goes for the location and clean bathroom. Maybe they should limit their menu; it’s better to be stellar at a few things than half ass a wide menu. Overall I was very unsatisfied. Over priced, unclean, inattentive service, and average food. Not a fan of chain restaurants but that might be your best bet in this area.

I would say ha t this bar and grill was very cool. You had gambling, bowling, good food, and killer drinks. The chicken wings were good, they were breaded, but crispy. For me personally, they were too greasy. My co-worker had a order of shrimp tacos, and they came 3 to an order and were stuffed!!! I’d for sure go back again and try some other food items, and drink some beers!!!

Waited forever for just ok food. We waited for someone to take out order. Waited again for drinks to arrive. Waited once again for an appetizer that was cold. Kids meals were neat, they were unique, but expensive. The only aspect that was fast was when our waitress ran our credit card. Not a place I would ever recommend. Sorry.

On my last night in Sandusky, my visit to the Thirsty Pony was enjoyable. I arrived here after a full day riding roller coasters at Cedar Point, and naturally wanting to avoid the exorbitant prices theme parks often charge for food, i waited until I was outside the park to eat. ATMOSPHERE: Thirsty Pony is a casual place with a sports bar feel. There are plenty of TVs to watch sports, and you can play various gambles like Keno. The one really weird thing about this place is the horn when you walk inside. You have to honk it if you need to be seated. SERVICE: I sat at the bar and was served by Dave who was friendly and diligent. One odd detail I observed about the staff is they wear name tags. Normally, this is reserved for fast food restaurants and not full service ones. Plus, the tags themselves looked cheap and gaudy, so I’m not sure why the staff had to wear them. FOOD: I ordered their Cuban sandwich which was served on a ciabatta bun branded with Thirsty Pony’s logo. The meat in the sandwich greatly dwarfed the bun size. The entrée was served with a fried pickle spear and pasta salad. Instead of the included chips, I opted to upgrade for fries which came in their own little basket shaped like the ones you use to deep fry potatoes. VALUE: It would’ve been nice if the sandwiches came with the fries by default instead of having to spend $ 2 extra. However, the domestic draft beers were relatively cheap. A tall 24-ounce Miller Lite ran me only $ 2.75, whereas in upstate NY where I currently reside that same beer would be $ 5 – 6.

I am SO done. I used to love this place! It has gone downhill in both food and service. I’m usually pretty tolerant of most things while dining out. This last time was bad enough that that I can assuredly say«we’ll NEVER go back there again». Damn! I used to love this place…

The Thirsty Pony was the closest place outside of cedar point that was conveniently still serving food when we left at 10 pm. We got seated within 10 min and although it was very crowded, the waitress came and asked for our drink order after only a few minutes. Then we ended up having to wait about 30 – 40 min for our food, hence the 4 stars. That being said, our waitress was extremely apologetic and she did keep checking in with us consistently. The food was awesome! Huge portions, the sauces on the wings were good, and the«fricken’ chicken» was really amazing. I got the fricken chicken sandwich with no bun, so just the chicken, and it was extremely tasty and not too greasy, but friends just right.

We ate here our last night in Sandusky. At first we were a little put off by the appearance. It was across the street from our hotel and after reading reviews we decided to try it. Wow… First it is not anything we had ever been to with keno and betting on races happening in the adjoining room. This is a bar with excellent food! Tip. Great drinks. Strong drinks. Eat first! If not hand the keys to your husband. My husband and son stated with loaded tater tots. They were excellent. Hot and crisp. My daughter and I shared the lobster bisque bowl. We should have stopped there. It was a full meal more than a starter. I love a good lobster bisque and growing up in New England I have had it made in some excellent seafood places. This was close to any of those. Now to the burgers. Exceptional. Huge, juicy, cooked to order and love the brioche buns. None of us had complaints except we could not finish them and had no way to bring them home to finish later! Service was good and fast. The staff was friendly. The drinks were good. Wish we had tried it sooner in our trip.

Ate in a window booth, honestly the *Best* restaurant I have ever ate at, so much fun great design, amazing waiters/waitresses, Delicious food i recommend they’re wings we got a 30 sampler of hot honey garlic and garlic permasean, plus a pro about this place is you can book your table o the noWait app which worked out perfectly for a busy night… If your in sandusky ohio, whether its cedar point or not come here, really you’ll enjoy it, for alcohol lovers they have a lot on tap and they serve drinks in 40 oz saxophones so this place i a blast overall.

Thirsty Pony is by far the best place to get awesome burgers. I had the GUACAMOLEBACONBURGER and the hubby had the WHISKEYBURGER which was so delicious with the Pina Colada and Strawberry Daiquiri to chase it all down. Ohhh I can’t forget the awesome, wonderful and fantastic server named Abby. Keep up the awesome service girlfriend!
