Well worth the ride. Good fish and chips. We stop here every time we are in the area.

Seafood Sam’s is always a stop while we are here. Good atmosphere for the younger kids. Food options are great if you like everything fried, however broiled and grilled options are minimal. I find the menu quite pricey considering you eat off paper plates and use plastic silverware. For the prices, it would be nice to have table service. All in all, an option for the whole family, but never my first choice.

I love Seafood Sam’s. I have been going here for years. The staff are wonderful and really care about the customer’s enjoyment and experience with the food. If ever there is an issue with an order they are very quick to rectify any concerns the customer may have. The food comes in fresh daily and you can tell by the quality of each yummy bite. I read some of the reviews of other customers and I would have to say I disagree with some of their reviews. One person complained about the food portions. My question is did they order the Lunch size, Dinner size or Side order size? Seafood Sam’s accommodates any type of appetite! Also, some ordered take out food and said it was greasy. Hello! Your ordered fried seafood to go. Where is the oil going to go? I know it holds up well compared to the competition because I am a local! My favorite dish is the popcorn shrimp lunch plate. Their cocktail sauce and tartar are yummy. I would say with out a doubt their coleslaw is the best on the Cape. I recommend this restaurant whole heartedly and it doesn’t hurt that they have beautiful views of the Cape Cod Canal. A lobster roll at sunset on a hot day can’t be beat!!!

Having grown up on Seafood Sam’s it is always interesting to see how this restaurant changes as tourist season hits. During the«offseason» the food is usually fried to perfection and the quantity is on point. When summer hits, the food seems more greasy, a little soggy and the portions look smaller. That being said, this particular location is decent and I love dining out on the back deck.

I had the baked scallops and shrimp, no liquid in the bottom of the dish and the shrimp was dry. Others in my party had the fried fish and bk potato and they said it was good but the coleslaw was bland. First time there and there were 3 ladies standing behind the counter and no one told us where we had to go to order, had to ask a patron. Then the girl taking our order never greeted us nor smiled the whole time. The place was not busy at 2 pm. Personally, I wouldn’t go there again. Cooks had a better menu and bigger portions for the price.

The worst lunch special I ever had. Fish and chips. Got it hot and by the time I pulled up on the canal it was soggy. A very small portion fog $ 12 no catsup ect. Don’t waste your time here unless your in a hurry and need a small bite for a lot of cash. Every year this place go’s up $ 1:50 on all there prices just waiting for the tourist

All I can say about this place is, it’s ok. It’s a tourist hotspot and is always busy. The food is decent and it’s located near the sandwich Marina. It’s not bad but not good.

First time here– a very nice place in Sandwich, MA. Walk up style with a very diverse menu to select from. With 5 of us, it was a large order — 2 lobsters cooked good, the Chowder is a bit watery– but still very good — had to the clam strips — very nice portion…

If you are ever in the cape. During you drive hope definitely stop by. Seating area huge. Great spot for family dining. Very impress with the food there. Even the kids menu. I ordered the Lobster ravioli plenty of Lobster meat made fresh pasta dough. Chowder is phenomenal with the spices added especially the tiny bits of celery with the cream and milk created a natural sweetness test to the broth. Kids menu were made with fresh creamy homemade Mac and cheese and fresh cut french fries. Again on your was home from the cape and needs some good eats. This is the spot your family will enjoy.

Decent menu. Reminds me of a roadside stop off. Cafeteria setup; place order, take a light up lobster with you, and wait for you’re signal that food is ready for pick up. No wait staff = no tipping. Mostly fried entrees, but some baked and broiled offerings. Food is very good and fresh. Bar has decent offerings of canned and draft brews. Worth a stop for lunch.

Quite disappointing. Got take out for 2. One Cape cod style platter and I fried clams w/bellies platter. About $ 30. Very small portions on both, and lousy limp fries! Oh well, lesson learned!

A large seafood restaraunt in a convenient location with something for every type of eater. When one of your specials is veggie meatballs and you are on location with a vegetarian with a shellfish allergy(all of the food is fried in the same oil), you know you are in a good place. Huge kid’s menu, and the seafood options come in several sizes from side, in a roll, or platter. I love whole belly clams and they were definitely soft and not sandy. The breading was tasty and the clams were not greasy. The small bar was staffed with a friendly server and had several good beers on tap, myself I favor of sharing a Whale’s Tale Pale Ale. Not your mom and pop roadside stand. Expect great taste!

This place is always terrific. Good fresh seafood cooked perfectly. Nice cool breeze on patio. Friendly bar tenders. Fairly quick service, even when busy. Also you can call in a take out order if you don’t want to stand in line.

Good spot to check out on the way home from the Cape. It’s not in the best location but if you want the cape cod seafood shack experience — come here. Although it’s on the canal, there really isn’t anything going on. Feels like an industrial park. But despite that, this is your typical order at the counter and pick up your food in 15 min. Prices are reasonable and the food is good. Well you can’t really screw up fried seafood. The lobster roll was good, lightly sauces, and on a hot dog bun.

Exceptional seafood restaurant in Cape Cod(Sandwich, MA). We came for an early dinner on a Saturday afternoon and found the place busy but not packed(which is a good thing, easier to find a table). Our party had 4 people and we got one fried seafood platter, a broiled seafood platter for two and a lobster roll. All were awesome, especially the fried clams and baked scallops. Clam«Chowda» was exceptional too. Sodas come with free refills and general ambience is relaxed.

Really big place with A/C down by Coast Guard Station. All kinds of seafood: shrimp, fish, clams, etc. Order at one end of the counter, get pager(red lobster) and then go pickup your food at the other end of the counter. Food was very good.

Along the way home from Cape Cod to New York, we wanted seafood but a little ways out from the Cape itself. We found this place on Unilocal and decided to check it out. The location of Seafood Sam’s is a little questionable, down some local roads, and what at first appears to be an industrial area, opens up to Seafood Sam’s and the US Coast Guard by the shore. The place is somewhat reminiscent of Nathan’s, old-school ambiance with some naval souvenirs hung on the walls. You order by a counter in the front with lobster buzzer in hand, and proceed along the left hand-side hallway that leads to the back where you can find a seat and fill up your cups from the soft drink machines. Plastic cups can be obtained from the staff member serving out the food to its patrons. There is also a separate ordering counter for alcoholic drinks if you like to imbibe on something a little more than just water or soda. Have a seat and wait about 10 minutes, depending on how crowded the joint is, for your lobster buzzer to go off. We came on a Monday for lunch, which they were offering their Monday special, Fried Clam Strip Platter for $ 9.99 saving $ 2.00 of their normal price of $ 11.99. The clam strips were breaded nicely without being greasy. Crunchy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside with no signs of chewiness. Served underneath is a bed of shoestring fries and a small container of slaw. We also ordered the Fried Haddock Platter($ 12.99), which includes slaw and a side dish. I opted for baked beans. This dish was slightly underwhelming. The haddock was nicely deep-fried, crispy on the outside with a soft flaky fish inside, but the batter lacked any real flavor making it somewhat bland and left me far from impressed. Your standard run-of-the-mill fish and chips dish. The baked beans were decent but easily forgettable. Overall, Seafood Sam’s won’t disappoint, nor will it really impress. Expect standard-fare seafood at average prices and average portions. If you’re in the area, it’s worth checking out, but I wouldn’t make it a point to drive out here.

Maybe it’s an east coast thing but I like being served. Here, you go up and order your food then you get a lobster shaped buzzer(which is really really cute) and wait until it goes off. When it does go off your food is ready to be picked up on trays. The portions were big. We had a large group and the fish bites were endless accompanied with French fries. I got the whole lobster of course. It couldn’t get any fresher. I love the taste of the natural salt from the sea water.

I generally am wary of clam shacks. These seasonal businesses tend to be a huge rip-off in price, and often quality. Seafood Sam’s is the exception that defies the rule(along with Sir Cricket’s in Orleans — reviewed separately). On a ride along the Cape Cod Canal earlier this week I offered to get my son a clam roll, a treat he really enjoys. Even as I asked I was thinking«You just volunteered to pay $ 20 or more for fried food on a hot dog roll.» The Market Price for the clam belly roll(strips are for frozen seafood eaters in the Midwest) was a very reasonable $ 13.95. Junior said it was delicious. My $ 13.99 scallop roll was excellent. The scallops were plentiful and flavorful. The buttered roll was golden brown. The cole slaw that accompanied both sandwiches was fresh and tasty. Seafood Sam’s is counter service only unless you sit at the small bar. The cashier was welcoming and polite. He even offered us cups for ice water(we looked overheated from riding all day). We got a kick out of the lobster shaped beeper you’re given to let you know when your order is up. The food expediter was equally friendly and offered us fresh tartar sauce. Don’t hesitate to go to Seafood Sam’s for a fried seafood or lobster fix.
