Good beer selection… Don’t go there hungry or thinking you can taste beers before you order. The fellow serving wasn’t friendly and treated us like we were trying to freeload. We were the only customers in the joint and he seemed bothered by us. Won’t return.

I was skeptical for awhile before going to this brewery based on the pictures of the environment but I was wrong and I regret not coming sooner. The pictures do not do this place justice, great energy. Friendly staff, very relaxing, lots of activity options, non alcoholic drinks available(townshends kombucha, yerbe mate, coconut water, ect.)(games, books, video games and instruments) and always good music(willing to change too, if you are not a fan.)

We stumbled across Bunsenbrewer because we were charging our Leaf at Fred Meyer across the street. What a find! Very tasty beer, great sliders and homemade zucchini pickles… As a nerdy science teacher I absolutely loved it. The proprietor sat at the bar with us and chatted. We will be back!

Stopped in to try the house beers — they have 18 or 20 taps but most lines today were guest beers, and a respectable selection of those. But as to the two house beers I tried — the«Oatmeal Brown» was overly sweet and undercarbonated, and the Red was way too malt-forward with no balance. The space didn’t appeal, but I’m way outside their demo.

I spent about 6 hours hiking in the Mount Hood Wilderness on Saturday and was thrilled when my phone popped up this place when I asked about a brewery on the way home. It is in an industrial park and the interior is designed to look like a science classroom which is a fun concept. I was impressed with the great attention to detail. There are science-y posters, the tables mimic lab tables, the chairs are throwback classroom stools, the glasses are beakers, the flight tray is a frog dissection tray(complete with laminate frog), and the pint glasses have neuron symbols and fill lines. Overall, it’s a very cool geeky theme. But, and it pains me to say this because it is *that* cool, who wants to hang out and drink beers at school? I would have loved to see a couple of picnic tables out front. And with smaller breweries it’s nice to see the operation a bit more. Here everything is tucked away and out of sight. The flight is $ 10(same price as a growler fill, wtf?) and includes 6 beers… odd because there were only 4 house beers on tap. I asked about narrowing it down to 4 as I didn’t need to try the guest taps and was given a poor response, «you can double up on two of ours.» What?! I got one each of Bb’s Tesla, Bb’s Edison, Bb’s Fahrenheit, Bb’s Goodall, Oskar Blue’s Old Chub, and Lumpoc’s C-Note. Tesla, a coffee stout, tasted like cold truck stop coffee to me and had absolutely no head whatsoever. Edison, an amber, was a bit bland with no aroma to speak of – of the bunch it was most drinkable. Fahrenheit, a habanero Belgian red, was gimmicky; it had no balance and the pepper flavor was overly assertive. Goodall, a blonde, was also a letdown because of it’s flat and unremarkable taste. I like a bit of fruit and a bit of bitter in a blonde. Unfortunately, because of the limited house beers, I ended my flight with the Lompoc and Oskar Blues offerings. Both, as expected, were tasty. Coming at the end of this flight, however, they were delicious. I know I sound harsh. And I don’t mean to. I respect this brewer. It’s not horrible beer. It’s just not refined either. Maybe I’ll return later in the summer. If this brewer continues to hone their craft, some exciting brews could eventually result.

No bottles, no cans, only pints, growlers. The only air guitar stage in the metro area. Oh, did I mention that you can use THEIR band equipment.

Now who stumbles onto a brewery of this coolitude? Nobody… unless apparently you look around once in a while. Great eats and a GREAT selection of hoppy well done beer. Love this little joint.

Space I liked, beer I was not a fan of however I was in the minority on this opinion at the table. I didn’t get much of a vibe from the people who were there and the place isn’t set up too well for socializing with strangers, so the crowd is who you bring with you, which may or may not be your thing. This is the type of place with large tables, couches, old video games and plenty of board games. Basically a coffee shop vibe with intoxicants. I dug the place and if it survives long enough I’ll visit it next time I’m in the Sandy area.

Great place to hang out. Good beer, food and live music tonight. Perfect end to the night after the blazer game. Spencer the bartender is great!

We were passing through Sandy craving a brew, and Siri located this place for us. From the outside, it’s just a steel shell building, but inside is a «science lab» setting with lab tables and chairs/stools. Nice selection of brews, and a small selection of pub food. Loved the physics theme. Enjoyed the brews. Will definitely be back.

Tasty beers here and pretty cool atmosphere. The location is in a sort of industrial park, but inside was nicely done. They have a smaller menu with a few sandwiches and snacks, which is cool. We only had beers but would go back to try some food. I don’t recall a vegetarian sandwich option though. Overall nice place.

Fantastic!!! Obviously a start up brewery, but solid beers, great atmosphere, really personable service. This will be my go to stop between Portland and Mt. Hood. Such a great addition to the neighborhood!

Disappointing beer, and no substance to the food menu. The service was ok, once we approached the bar, but when we walked in and we were not even acknowledged, which seemed a little strange.

Good selection of beer and great atmosphere. Too bad it’s in Sandy and Sandy kills all new places unless it’s a chain restaurant(but Jack in the Box has left now too). Hopefully the brewing part of the business will keep it alive!

I love this place. The staff is friendly, they have free NES and SNES video games to play, an array of musical instruments to jam out on, and the huge size of the place is very refreshing. Minors are allowed before 8, which is nice so I can take my daughter and play games. Oh yeah, TONS of board games available for playing. I especially love the science theme that the place has. And the best part? AMAZING Beer! The brewing staff really have dedication to their craft. A place that Sandy needs in its community. 5/5, would recommend to anyone.

unfortunately this business suffers from its less than amazing location, but the well executed concept and solid ‘reduced gluten’ beers are worth the trip

We went in at 5pm on a Friday evening. Dead. We were the only table and there were a few people at the bar. WHAT?!? It’s Friday Night at Happy Hour… ooops no Happy Hour here. I want to support local… pretty sure all bars in Sandy are«local» though and they have better food than this place. This place probably has the best beer though. We were offered some samples. We had the Belgium Wit… I believe this is one of their own. Loved it. The food… leaves something to be desired for sure. I don’t think they have a proper kitchen here and it shows. There are about 5 items to choose from on the menu and nothing is really«cooked», but rather warmed up. We had the pork sliders. The bun was a Kings Hawaiian bun… cold. The pork was pretty decent — maybe made in a slow cooker — no complaints there other than it needed to be warmed up more. The sauce was supposed to be a sriracha lime… didn’t taste like either. No heat at all or tang. The slider could have really used a toasted bun and a nice scoop of coleslaw. The pickled zucchini… is not good and should be nixed as it’s simply some sliced raw zucchini with a splash of straight apple cider vinegar and some dill. I think every«basket» of food is served with potato chips and pickled zucchini. We didn’t have silverware or napkins at our table. Our waiter brought out the food and said«there are forks and napkins over there, you can grab them if you want» …hmmmm OK sure. In all honesty his place has some pretty amazing potential. I think the owners had a great vision… they just need to really work on the execution and in doing so — I see this place being the go to place in Sandy… a Sandy version of Roscoes maybe? They really need to play up the science class meets school of rock theme. They have a rad sound lab in the place and anyone can go up and jam. AWESOME! If this venue was anywhere in Portland — it would be rockin every night… IF they scrapped the current food menu and updated their décor a bit. They have games to play, both board and video games. The stools are throwback to your middle school science class lab stools and it looks like the tables are a nod to the same. There is a random beaker here and there on the tables… a picture of Einstein… like I said — good ideas but they need a bit of work. Overall, I’d be back for the beer but would nosh somewhere else. There isn’t much in Sandy as far as food… but this place definitely isn’t it… but it COULD be with a few easy tweaks. Which I would LOVE to see.

We saw the sign in the window and decided that when we came off the mountain, we would stop in, and we weren’t disappointed. They had about a dozen beers on tap, all good ones and 2 of their own. We had their Verbeek Imperial IPA, a very good beer. They don’t have food yet, but are hoping to line up with some food carts. In the meantime, they allow you to bring in food. Next time we our on Mt. Hood, we will call first to see if there is a food cart(got to support the locals) but if not, bring in some take out to enjoy with one of their beers. YIPPEE! So excited to have a good brew on the way home from a great day around Mt. Hood.
