Sandy Library

Too many loud, obnoxious kids/​teenagers in the study area making noise and messing around.
Makes it incredibly hard to study. There’s specific places to be loud.
I mean it’s a library,
SHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
I now take a 15 minute commute to Salt Lake Community College (both ways) so I can study peacefully.
Rather than a 5 minute drive up the street.
But hey, I’m a 20 year old college chick with no kids and likes her quiet. It’s a «Public» Library after all. Hahahahaha not.
Besides that–
I do still check out books here. It’s ridiculous how much they charge you when your book is one day late.
Anyways, self checkout is great. Books are books. Atmosphere is bleh. Building is clean.
Can’t comment on Computers, DVD, CD, Magazines, because I have never used any of these.

We have made the library a part of our family fun. It’s conveniently located in Sandy and the staff is informative and helpful. I’m amazed by the selection of media they have and they have almost every topic you can imagine. The children’s area is filled with games, stories, and entertainment. Enjoy!

far from my favorite library. not the best research librarians. I tried to research the underbelly of Joseph smith and Brigham young. They were biased in the information they sent my way. Also i was taken aback by how i thought i was treated, not very helpful

The library is great. Conveniently located just off 13^th and Sego Lilly it is a great location with plenty of selection. The kids area is fantastic.

This library is great! They have a large selection, and if you need to use a computer there is almost always a computer available in their computer area. Everything is easy to find and the recent remodeling is super nice too. If you need help, the librarians are very nice and helpful. I have never had a bad experience here. It can sometimes be a little busy, but overall it’s a great spot.

I’ve made no effort to hide the fact that I’m a library geek. I especially love the Salt Lake County Library System and the reasons have been well documented on my review of Midvale’s Tyler Library. That’s my home turf library, and while it still remains my favorite for all of the charm and personality it holds, Sandy is a close second. or third (lots of nostalgia for Whitmore and their rainbow reading room).

At Sandy, you have a massive location with lots of books to choose from. It’s big enough that you don’t really feel the crowds, so you can still get lost amongst the bookshelves.
Be sure to check the calendar for special library events. There’s always something fun going on, especially for kids, so don’t think it’s just all books. Oh, and it ain’t all books: music, movies, audiobooks. They have them all, and lots of ‘em!

I just read on the Sandy Library website that this is the largest and busiest location in the Salt Lake County Library System. But don’t let that keep you from stopping in. I’ve never been bothered by the crowds here.
One of my favorite things about the Salt Lake County Library system is the inter-​library loan program. If Sandy doesn’t have what you’re looking for, they’ll get it for you – from any other SLCO library in the valley, and leave it waiting for you on the hold shelves. And you can manage all of your holds, checkouts, and renewals online, which makes it so convenient. Another perk is the self-​checkout scanners. There are plenty of stations, so wait-​time is minimal.
The kids and teen sections have recently been remodeled, and they look really good. There are also meeting rooms available to reserve. One small, one large. They also have computers and a study room, but I haven’t used those amenities. All in all – a great library.
