Ski N See

Rolled in to town and needed to gear up — figured they’d know a lot more about ski gear than anyone in so cal. Assumption was correct. They were so knowledgable and friendly. Our guy, Bridger? had skied everything in the store and was so spot on with his advice and so very helpful. So glad we waited to buy here. Great selection too!

Great friendly staff, I’ve never skied before but they seem to know what they’re doing and thanks to them my first time was a great experience. Like any pro shop the floor items are pricey but that’s to be expected. Also if you reserve equipment rentals online beforehand you can save 10% and it makes the entire process fast and easy.

Last season was my first time skiing and we rented from here. I feel like the employees were very helpful and knowledgeable. It’s nice being able to try different set ups to see what will work best and I think the pricing was fair.

I love this place. The staff is cool, friendly, and smart. I have rented from them 3 times so far (along with purchasing lift tickets) — and even won a gift card from them.
Very good rental prices — and staff is always willing to answer questions from beginners like myself.
It’s one of those spots where you feel welcomed immediately.

Oh boy. We used to like this place. Not anymore and probably will never be back, at least to this location.
I take my kids in to get sized at the beginning of the ski season (like I do every year) so that I can pick up the skis the night before, after work. I hate the crowds on a Saturday morning. We rented three weeks ago (made a reservation beforehand) and picked them up with no issues the day before. Last week, I made a reservation as I normally do, battle traffic on a Friday night to go pick them up and the problems began. They found my reservation and they asked for the sizes (because their stupid online reservation system doesn’t keep them on file) and I said, no they are in the system in there at the store (as they have always been). The kid running the front counter tells me, they don’t do that. I then inform him that they do and I’ve always done it that way. I did it that was 2 weeks prior. Finally a manager came over and helped him find the file for one of my kids and then decided to swipe him upside the back of the head — very professional I might say. He takes care of the first one and then searches for the next one… and guess what, he can’t find it. The manager came over to help him again and guess what, my son’s information is no longer in the system. He’s been in there for two years and all of a sudden he’s not. I don’t know his ski or boot size — it’s always been in the system. So they tell me there is nothing they can do. No explanation as to why it’s no longer there. I then asked, could they pull up the reservation from 2 weeks ago and he then showed me a 15“x“15“x15 box full of papers and said this is what they do with them. They just throw the piece of paper in the box so searching for it would be like searching for a needle in a haystack. Great, I just wasted 2 hours on a Friday night.
Thanks but I’ll be using other rental companies from now on.
Oh and one parting word of advice. Stop sending out follow up emails with the subject «How was your ski trip to Utah?» You have my address and know that I live in Utah and to have something like that coming from the President of Ski ‘N See is a bit embarrassing.

The only reason they even get 2 is because the guy fitting our boots was very polite and great at what he did. Between myself and two friends shopping with me we spent over 2000 dollars, even after this the shop guys refused to fit my new boots to my skis without paying a fee and to top it off when we asked to have them fitted he acted like we asked him to build is an airplane and demanded it be done immediately, when we didn’t even request they be done the same day. The shop people are very rude and I will not be dropping another penny to this place.

My binding broke on my flight to Utah. The staff went above and beyond to help me improvise and found me an extra strap that fit perfectly. Excellent customer service. Highly recommend this place!!!

With family in town that wanted to ski, so we headed to Ski n See. My 6^th grader also got one if those passports to go to every resort in Utah. And lo and behold… ski n see has a free equipment rental. Score.
We got there on a Friday very first thing and of course they were packed. We were greeted immediately and was able to be in and our in less than an hour.
The reason for 4 stars and not 5? The snotty girl at the counter checking us out.

WHen I drop my gear off to be tuned I expect a phone call to let me know when it done. Staff is cool but seems a little lazy and not very proactive.

Oddly enough, my experience with Ski N See started at another ski shop – a ski shop that had been my ‘go to’ place for years. In need of some new ski boots, I visited my old ski shop but left empty-​handed after trying on a whopping 8 different boots with absolutely no hope in sight. A week or so later I met Zac at the Sandy Ski N See location who brought out just two pairs of boots after measuring my feet and asking me a few questions, with one of the pairs, the Dalbello Boss w/​the molded iD liner, being the ones I took home that night. Upon skiing in these new boots however, I soon discovered that the fit was off despite my perceived perfect fit from inside the warm ski shop. Until the boots really warmed up they were like bear traps for my feet and walking in them, even short distances, felt like I was involved in some sort of self-​inflicted torture .
Back to Ski N See I went, wondering what would play out and how they might be able to help me ‘post-​sale’. Nothing tells you more about a place than when you go back to have something fixed and Ski N See really shined! Justin, the other boot specialist there with a ton of knowledge, explained to me that by having a footbed insert, my arch would not only be supported but also raised, effectively bringing my toes away from the front of the boot as well as raising my heel ever so-​slightly with a tighter heel pocket. Voila, total perfection; it worked! I honestly didn’t think that purchasing the least expensive footbed they offered would completely transform the fit like it did. Incidentally, Zac had recommended I purchase footbeds during my first visit – if only I had listened the first time… These guys know what they’re doing and have since helped my friends and I out on everything from boots and skis to goggles and boards.
Even though I have several hundred in credit at my old ski shop, I still haven’t been back to use it because my new friends at Ski N See treat me so well.
A genuine thanks to Jason at the Sandy location for tweaking the edges on my RTM84’s to perfection and to Adam and the crew there at the Fort Union location for helping me with the I/​OX Goggles, demo skis, and gloves – the goggles rock btw! All of these guys have been so incredibly helpful to me, going above and beyond every single time, that giving a rave review was the least I could do. Thanks again!

Great place to rent your gear for the slopes.
Purchase the discounted gift card from Costco. Only downfall is that you can’t use them on the discounted lift tickets they sell. It doesn’t make sense since money is going to them anyway.
I rented a board here and the boots they offer are the twist and lock kind. Kind of stinks since i prefer lace up ones as the boots kept becoming loose after a run.
But overall, really cheap and better to rent here then on the mountain itself.
and finally a shop that doesn’t give me a kids board!

Employee Jessica was extremely helpful in renting skies. I snowboard normally (not very good) so I thought I would try skiing. Rented for one day an it was only 32 $. (Give or take) Spent the day skiing and I had such a wonderful time. I don’t think I’ll go back to snowboarding.

I decided to upgrade all my gear this year, I waited or Ski N Grab, and I was kind of surprised byt the lack of selection they had, and even then things weren’t as cheap as my other ski buddies had told me they would be. I bought some boots and a generic foot bed, but thats really the only things worth getting there. I heard about Skiarama on KSL and thought I would go and check it out. I was shocked byt here selection and Ski N Grab, they didn’t have any Rosi, Dal Bello, Nordica, really they just had K2 and Armada. Long story short, I bought a pair of Axion 9’s, Descente jacket and pants. A custom footbed, all for the same price of everything I got at Ski N Grab and it was all high quality gear. A few weeks later I rent to go get my custom footbed made and my skis tuned up. The experience getting the footbed was as good as it gets, but when I went to get my skis back I noticed the tune up hadn’t been done, they realized there mistake and took my skis back and did the tune up that hour and refunded me my money to make up for there mistake. All in all Ski N See best place to get anything for the winter hands down.

I bought a pair of snowboard bindings here that had a problem. The staff promptly addressed the issue by offering and exchange or full refund. They were very helpful and friendly.

I’m a new skier and wanted to rent gear for the season for myself and snowboard equipment for my son. Service was great. The person who helped us was very knowledgeable and patient. Gave a military discount as well. Very positive experience.

I’ve had great experiences with Ski-​N-​See. We’ve rented snowboards from this location several times. They also have a great selection of both boards and skis in the sporting goods section of the store.
I’d give them five stars, but I find their website to be very misleading. So bad that I can’t in good conscience recommend them.
Here is a direct quote from their website: «Ski ‘N See is proud to have been selected the Best Ski and Board Shop in Utah by Utah Ski Authority for 9 years in a row!» I am just a big enough nerd to want to check out claims like this for myself. What did I find? Utah Ski Authority is a bogus website registered to the Director of Client Relations at Ski-​N-​See (info from

). Highly suspect! I’d put that in the category of extremely questionable business practices.

Warning! The owner who’s name is Roy is not a man of his word when it comes to pricing and sales. I called in to purchase skis, they didn’t have the year I wanted but had the newer version which he quoted me a price on and I agreed to purchase. He stressed several times that he would honor the price! He was going to call me back in a day or so with binding info instead I called him. Needless to say after several calls to the store he is MIA. That is a terrible way to treat a customer, unless he makes good on the deal I’ll spend my $$ elsewhere.

Despite the «See» in this store’s name, it is not Eyewear and Opticians as Unilocal would like you to believe. Ski-​N-​See is actually a sporting goods /​ski rental store. They had a large selection of skis available for rent and prices range from around $ 20 – 36 for a ski, pole, and boot package depending on if you want the newest equipment. We went with the $ 36 package and got a $ 2 discount for bringing our own boots. We also had 25% off coupons which were given to use by our hotel. Definitely worth it to ask your hotel if they have any coupons!
Service was pretty quick and there were a quite a few people working there on Sunday morning to fit our skis. We had 4 people in our group and I think we were in and out in about 30 minutes. Trust me, it is way faster and cheaper to rent your equipment in town before heading up to the slopes. You can even buy lift tickets here!
