Great place to eat they give plenty of food the service was great. If the city water was better the coffee would be great. Hope they continue food quality.

We love to go to breakfast at Café Perks! Good, down-home place where the locals eat, and for a good reason. I went there recently after running a 10K race to fuel up on a Belgian waffle. The servers all ooohed and aaaahed over my achievement and admired my race medal. The food was – as it always is! – really good with huge portions. This is the kind of place you feel right at home. Service is prompt, orders are always delivered exactly spot-on right as ordered, and the food’s always piping hot. Good coffee, too. I like my eggs over very hard, with the yolks solid, and they always come out just that way. Nothing fancy. Not the place to take your hoity toity snob friend for brunch. Just really good food in a friendly restaurant.

I have been meaning to come here for a while after a friend recommended them. Well today I needed to stop by the produce market to get some collard greens to make for Thanksgiving. My best friend and I love to frequent mom n pop diners so we decided to drop in for lunch today. From the outside the place is just very plain and if you are not looking, it is easy to drive right on past. As you get near the entrance, the Breakfast and lunch specials are posted on white boards. We walked inside and the place was virtually empty. To the right is the counter and there are booths throughout the rest of the dining area. The counter and table tops have seen better days and so have many of the seats in the booths. The menu is HUGE… Way too many decisions to make for a place that is only open from 6 am until 2 pm. You expect a menu like that in a 24 hour diner but in a place that is basically open for breakfast and lunch it is an overkill of a menu. I looked thru the menu and between the small print and tons of choices, it was simply overwhelming. We ordered coffee and I took a stroll around the place so I could snap off a few pictures. Our server was very pleasant and knew that menu inside and out so I can only assume she’s been there a while. I have to admit she really made that place special during my visit. My best friend ordered from the breakfast menu but I chose to try something new since my server raved about the burgers. I chose let her decide what burger to try and it came with a side of Fries and coleslaw. To be honest, I did not feel like trying to read thru their novel of a menu. Our food only took about 15 minutes and my burger looked great. It had bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and pickles. I added some mayo, mustard and ketchup and as you can see from the pic… It was a nice sized burger. I have to say… That was one VERY tasty burger! The fries were just your basic frozen french fry and the coleslaw was just your average coleslaw. Service — 5 Menu — 1(Print is small and the choices are endless) Atmosphere — 2(counter/tables/booth seats need some attention and the place is dated) Coffee — 4 Burger — 5 Fries — 3(Fresh cut fries are always preferred over frozen fries) Coleslaw — 3(Generic slaw mix with some pre-made dressing) The service was top notch and that burger was great but the dining area is showing its age. The menu is printed in a tiny font and is overkill for their hours. Nobody wants to struggle to read a novel of a menu when it is a breakfast/lunch diner. I will be back to check out the breakfast offerings and based on what I saw being delivered to the booth behind me, expect a good breakfast…

Wife and I have been coming here for years. We are on first name basis with almost everyone and love it. Prices are good, food is what you would expect. They make a killer hamburger but make sure you ask them to season it. It’s amazing!

Breakfast. What they save on ambiance and a fancy setting, they put into the food? Well, the toast was good. But the Greek omelet was undercooked and I’ve never had one with pepperoncini in it — usually lamb, onions, feta cheese and maybe olives or tomatoes. Strange because they just get chewier when cooked. And speaking of cooked, most of the potatoes were quite good but there were a few in there that needed a bit more time on the grill. And the tzatziki sauce had lumps in it. Service was mostly attentive. The one waitress was understaffed as the counter area was full from locals all chattering on with her.

I love the food at café perks. I’ve only gone there for breakfast and it’s always really good. My favorite thing is the sausage, egg and cheese sandwich on an English muffin with home fries. It never fails to be delicious! I’ve had the everything omelet, biscuit and grits and it’s all been good. A friend of mine recommend the hamburgers too. I never stay to eat in the diner. The vibe is a little weird so I just get my food to go.

I’ve been there twice now. The prices are great! The service both times was surprisingly slow. The first time I had breakfast which is pretty hard to screw up. It was similar to any small diner breakfast. The second time I had meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and collard greens. It was REALLY good!!! Both time I brought my young kids and they liked it as well. I’ll be back for sure!

If you like a good dive breakfast, Café Perks is your place! The bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy, and pancakes were all good. The same can be said for their breakfast sausage. Prices are reasonable. The coffee is awful. You kind of expect that from a diner, but I had high hopes given the coffee-centric name that they picked. I’d get iced tea next time instead of the coffee. That said, there definitely will be a next time. Nice little restaurant.

My husband and I weren’t sure what to expect when we went to Café Perks… we thought it’d probably be a cute little restaurant with a nice ambiance. WRONG! Café Perks is a dark, dirty little place with Dale Earnhardt memorabilia all over the wall… just a really weird place. My husband thought my pancakes smelled weird in a bad way and when I tasted them, they were nothing to write home about. I could have made way better pancakes at home. Just a greasy, small, packed diner, a weird vibe, and not the kind of place I’d go back to again.

We’ve driven by this place a ton of times and decided to stop in today for breakfast. We are so glad that we did. We now have a new favorite breakfast place close to home. They have every meat imaginable to go with your eggs(bacon, sausage, smoked sausage, ham, canadian bacon, hash and more!). Their home fries are out of this world, made with red potatoes. My kids loved it because they had chocolate chip pancakes. They also serve lunch. My husband got a gyro, which he loved becuase it had greek peppers on it This is a homey kind of restaurant that was packed. Service was good and the meals were reasonably priced. We’ll go back!
