Jackson’s is a rarity, almost an anachronism, as an old mom-and-pop style produce/general store with hard to find candies and my personal favorite, Blenheim’s spicy ginger-ale(especially if it’s ginned up just a touch extra). They have a nice selection of homemade jams and pickles, too, which make great presents to give out-of-town guests a little local flavor. You can also buy milk from Maple View Farms, a nearby dairy. Produce is fresh and as you’d expect from the name, located outside for the most part along with plants for purchase. Swing by if you’re in town, there’s a bbq joint next door if you’re hungry, but I’m still partial to Lexington/Western NC style, personally. ;-)
