Lake Forrest Ace Hardware

Okay, I bought something there for more $ than other places in order to try to be supportive of a local business. Needed an accessory, assumed if they sold an item they knew something about accessories. Well, I ended up Googling in the store as they didn’t. I bought a wrong sized item, called back and asked for the kid that helped me. He offered to order the correct one, supposedly talked to the owner while we were on the phone together and he took my name and number. Two weeks have passed, went in and found he’s not there. No one knew anything but a manager I’m assuming said ‘oh i got some of those in today’…nope not mine. So I asked, «after 2 weeks what would you recommend me to do, assume he forgot or something?» «Yeah I guess», he shrugged. No offer to help, apology or anything. So i returned my wrong-​sized item and went home and ordered it on Amazon for 15% less, it will arrive on my doorstep in a couple days. So Goodbye Lake Forest Ace. Higher prices, indifferent service=no more business from me. Very disappointed.

Store is pricey compared to Home Depot or Lowes. Good one on one customer service though.
