The food was good but I felt like it was a little over priced for what you received. The place is nice and a little upscale for such a casual area. The menu was very limited I would guess maybe 10 – 12 choices for entrees. I want to say the kids menu was more appealing to me than the main. I would eat here again, but would not be the first choice.

I can’t say enough about how wonderful our experience was here. From the food to the service, everything was top notch. We went for an early dinner(around 5:00) and were impressed with the happy hour drink specials. $ 7 glasses of wine were 2 for 1 before 6:00! Draft beers were $ 8 each. The blue crab and shrimp stack appetizer was unbelievable, I would highly recommend it. We had the diver scallops with lobster ravioli and the seafood linguine special. Both were rich in flavor and generous in portion size. I would probably list this as a $$$ restaurant since most entrees were $ 25-$ 40, but either way, they are worth every penny.

Celebrated our 10 year anniversary on Sanibel Island and wanted a nice quiet dinner. The place is clean and the menu offered a nice variety of choices. My wife had the sea bass and I ordered the almond encrusted grouper. Both dishes were excellent. Service was also outstanding from our waiter to the bus. We just wish the atmosphere would have been a bit more romantic considering the menu prices.

Enjoyed a delicious dinner our first night in Sanibel. Already recommended Traders to fellow travelers at our inn. We’ll definitely be back!

One of our regular stops while visiting Sanibel Island. Recent visit did an early dinner meeting up with a local friend. Service is friendly and an experienced wait staff. Drinks were quick, and refilled promptly. Food was quick and good as usual. Cool shopping area behind the bar for those Florida souvenirs. Stop by Whitneys Bait & Tackle across the street too for all your fishing needs and book a trip with Whitney. Great day on the water.

Not good, not terrible. Unfortunately, this restaurant is exceptionally overrated. While the food was what one would expect from an average diner, the prices were astronomically high for what we received. The lump crab cakes, at $ 17, were soft, and appeared to have been pre-prepared and sitting for some time before they arrived at our table. And the corn accompaniment was overloaded with cumin. The crab-stuffed shrimp with risotto special was so-so at $ 34, and the parmesan encrusted chicken on angel hair, for $ 24, was overcooked, dry, and the sauce unflavorful. Given all the glowing reviews, we were quite surprised that the quality of the food. We would not recommend this restaurant at the prices they are charging. Service was also only average. Perhaps that’s what best describes this establishment: average. But they price themselves as premium, which they are not.

Our favorite place to go in Florida, we have been going there for 5 years. It’s a well managed, incredible food, good stiff drinks, clean and really good service. They take reservations and always get in close to the time we make it for. We go there for our date night. We have tried other places on the island, but we always come back to Traders. We had the gumbo, spinach salad, pasta with crab, lobster, scallops. Everything was amazing

Ended up going during happy hour, just making it the cut-off. The place was busy, and I used the valet parking(it’s free not counting the tip). It was 2 for 1 on the beer. They had a local wheat that was good. I got a big bowl of gumbo that was very good — and I’m really picky about my gumbos. I also tried some crab cakes that were good. A solid 4 star meal.

Great tasting food, reasonable prices. Solid. Ordered po boy blackened grouper sandwich, very good, but size of filet didn’t fit the size of bread, too small. Come on now… Otherwise, very good.

Had a very nice meal here with 3 others. Good service, pleasant waitress. They were able to accommodate us a half hour early. The macadamia crusted grouper was tasty, as were the blackened mahi and shrimp and grits. No room for dessert: this place serves Midwest-sized portions! Average $$ per entrée is $ 24 – 34. On the loud side, which we weren’t crazy about, but know that it’s standard practice these days.

First time in Sanibel, immediately headed to Traders based upon Unilocal!reviews. Not disappointed. Excellent. Light and airy atmosphere, excellent service, great food, friendly, decent value. Only complaint: no outside seating despite lovely deck. Both spouse and I got Caesar salads with blackened grouper, I got beer(excellent curated selection!) and spouse got white sour cream-based gazpacho which she reported as excellent. Super friendly server(Brenda) spent plenty of time talking and advising us. Would definitely return!

Traders Café is a wonderful place for an excellent meal in a relaxed atmosphere. The service is excellent, they welcome us like locals, and treat us like friends. We are particularly fond of Kerri, who waited on us most recently. The tables are elegantly set, with white butcher paper on top of the table cloth. This may sound questionable, but a box of crayons is provided. Personally, I use the crayons to write love notes to my wife on the table. Great fun, great food, great service.

We visited Traders for dinner and music on a Thursday night when Danny Morgan was playing(7 – 10 pm). We did make a reservation to ensure we got a good table and that was a good idea. Groups that just walked in seemed to have to sit right in front of the band and it didn’t look too enjoyable. For dinner, I had one of the nightly specials, which featured their lobster ravioli(which is on the menu in other dishes) and crab stuffed shrimp in a creamy sauce. This dish was sooo delicious, I ate every last bite. The ravioli was heavenly, I would recommend it highly if it is available. The shrimp was large and fresh and cooked well, and the crab filling was yummy. We stuck around until the band was finished, drinking wine and dancing. It was a really fun time!

Traders became our go-to place during our trip to Sanibel. So relaxing and casual, but such wonderfully delightful food! My favorite meal there(out of 3!) was a delicious grilled mahi filet with mango salsa and black beans. We also enjoyed a scallop appetizer and the most decadent dessert I’ve ever eaten. .. a mocha pie on a oreo crust, topped with ice cream, fudge and hot caramel sauce! I don’t usually have dessert but this may have just proven to me that I’ve been all wrong to turn it down! Wonderful experiences with great service, every time. The varied menu makes it easy to stop in here a couple of times during your stay. Good bar, too!

The food has been the best on the island for me. I have eaten at most of the restaurants, especially the highest rated on Unilocal but this place has some great food. A must try.

The grouper po-boy lunch sandwich is my favorite lunch item on the island! The fish is delicious. My wife had the tomato and mozzarella salad served in bed of spinach with grouper– it was very good and dressed perfectly. Their kids menu is the best(some healthy stuff)! Atmosphere is comfortable and service is always attentive.

As a local, I can firmly say that this is one of the best restaurants on Sanibel. I can’t come home to my parents without going. We always leave full and happy! The flavor and complexity of the sauces make the entrees. Our favorites are the Scallop and Sea Bass entrees, though we’ve never been unhappy with anything we’ve ordered. Last time we were there, the Snapper was to die for as well. Note: they’ve introduced a Happy Hour that makes this affordable for everyday as well!

Sehr empfehleneswert!
