Super pricey!!! I still can’t get over the fact that I paid $ 30.00 dollars for 1lb of birria! PLUS the service was horrible! The woman at the register had a serious face, handed me the food with an attitude. It was my first time going there and most definite last time. The birria wasn’t even that good, definitely not worth the $ 30. My mom would’ve done a better job!

Overrated, pricey, and parking inconvenience make it not worth to drive 10 miles to it. We ordered several items from the menu, birria, barbacoa, asada, consomé and lengua ranging from average to insipid. I really wonder about the reviews that rate it as «best» Thank you for reading.

The food is delicious. I love the Torta de Asada and the Birria! I am giving El Cabrito four stars because it is a bit pricey, the staff is not very friendly, the seating isn’t that great(if I’m not mistaken there are 2 – 3 tables indoors and the rest of the tables are outdoors), and the parking lot is terrible.

Please don’t come here they’ve gone down hill over the years… Today I went in and ordered 4 tacos de birria and a consome… before I thought the prices were worth it but now I just think they’re out of their minds for serving tacos with skin, bones, and fat… literally no meat! And I’m paying $ 2.25 each!!! Really disappointed and I don’t think I’ll be coming here again instead I’ll be going to «Tacos y Birria el Guerro» Unilocal it they’re so much better and much more flavorful… sorry not sorry

BIRRIATACOS. The BEST birria I’ve ever had. EVER. These are actually my favorite tacos, and they never disappoint. It’s definitely pricier than your usual taco, but it’s soooo worth it! Make sure to add some lime and the free onions and jalapeños in the front. The radish it comes with makes it super refreshing. QUESADILLAS. The tortilla has that perfect crisp. The cheese is super melty. The meat inside(carne asada is my favorite for this) is incredibly fresh. Like they just brought the cow in 10 minutes ago to prep this for you. I love adding their salsa and aceite to this. BURRITOS. Includes your choice of meat, beans, cilantro, onions. I get the asada when I think I’m going to eat it for leftovers. I like the birria when I want to eat it all right away because it is so moist, so I wouldn’t want the tortilla to get soggy if I saved it for later. SOUP. I cannot get the name right. But my homegirl in the front register knows exactly what I’m asking for when I order a cup of the broth. They put cilantro and onions in it then I add lime on my own. So good with anything you eat here or by itself.

First of all this place has gone down hill we have been coming here for years and it was always the best there could have been but after today it was horrible I live in corona and it used to be worth it but after today never again! The lady there has the worst attitude not even trying to be polite. The salsas to go look as if they just placed a drop in there and try to make it look like its a lot! The salsa that’s made of oil has more oil than the actual salsa and when I told the lady she gave me an eye roll as if i was being annoying it’s pricey so I expect to get what I pay for not! In other words save your money your time and go elsewhere it’s not worth it anymore I don’t know if they changed owners but it’s down hill from what it used to be.

This is my go to place for birria. I’ve had the Chivo birria in the past, but this particular time I had the barbacoa de res. Both are very flavorful & the consome(broth) it’s delicious as well. The portions are small, and the prices are a bit high, but then again birria is usually pricy everywhere else.

Ok I’ll just get to the point. The only service you get here is when you order at the register, which was provided by a totally serious and unfriendly woman. I ordered the carne asada plate for $ 11.58 and first of all the meet was full of fat and tasteless, the portion was very small, and the tortillas were hard almost burnt. They do have a cool patio upfront and it was fairly clean. In conclusion and taking into consideration that I’m Latino, have dated mexicans, and have eaten at literally hundreds of other Mexican restaurants, this particular restaurant is mediocre at best. 4 stars for this place? Absolutely not. They get 2 stars for overall food and experience and 1 star for the cool patio.

I been craving birria for quite a while now it’s great to see that there’s a restaurant that focuses on making just birria… I actually love how tasty and moist the meat was. I’m not really a fan of there beans and rice, but with the extra juice they give you gives it a great taste. Over all I well decently be coming back!

Best goat tacos & chile rellenos in OC! My quest for succulent goat meat has finally come to fruition at this friendly little goat taco outdoor restaurant. The Birria, Asada, & Barbacoa de Res tacos were so satisfying and delicious! Chile rellenos here are perfectly fluffy and perfectly seasoned! Tastes just like homemade. Many restaurants have chewy chiles or oily greasy egg batter but here they have mastered the art of tender chiles and batter that tastes like the succulent sauce it soaks up. The tender cactus on top of the chile rellenos took them to the next level If you are tired of mediocre OC tacos then you must come here — these tacos reign supreme!

Ordered Chivo Birria Torta was filling & tasty, but lacked meat, unfortunately there was more beans on it than birria. They have a 1lb of meat dish which I will check out next stop by.

Estan tan ricos estos tacos el huero. Me encantan. Pero los parqueaderos son un problema. Los tacos de cesos son los mejores. Nosotros vamos cada mes ala lonchera del huero la birria. Te los reomiendo.

The jam packed parking lot is a testament to the popularity of El Cabrito. The specialty here is birria, goat meat. I tried one of their birria tacos and found it tender and not gamy. It was topped with onions and cilantro. I think it would have been nice if there was more flavor to the meat, but I still enjoyed the taco. They have a variety of drinks and when I asked about the jamaica, they gave me a sample. This led to me buying this sweet drink which has a small touch of sourness. The seating here is outdoors. I would like to try their other tacos the next time I go.

It was Taco Tuesday, and I was looking for some cheap tacos for lunch. I couldn’t find the original place that I had Unilocaled. Since I am the only person in the world without Smartphone, I found this place the old school way. I drove up and down 1st Street in Santa Ana until I saw a Mexican restaurant with the most people in it. I pulled into the parking lot. There was only one space left with my name on it. I quickly parked and went inside. Luckily for me, there were a couple of people ahead of me, giving me extra time to peruse the menu and look at the food that they were serving to the customers. The Birria plate looked fantastic. But, since it was a Taco Tuesday, I had my mind set on tacos. When it was my turn, the cashier looked at me like he was amazed that I, the Chinito, walked into his restaurant that was full of Hispanics. He then asked me how I found out about his restaurant, and if I discovered the restaurant on Unilocal.I couldn’t lie to him, so I told him that Unilocal brought me there. Not knowing how big their tacos were, I ordered 2 Birria(goat stew) tacos, 1 Barbacoa(Beef stew) taco, and one Carne Asada Taco. I paid the man, and waited for my tacos. The tacos were ready within 5 minutes. I took my order and drove straight back to the office. The tacos came loaded with meat, cilantro, and onions. They even gave me a spicy and a regular salsa on the side. They were not small tacos that you get elsewhere. If I knew the tacos were so big, I would have gotten 2 or 3. But, then again, their prices are more than at other places at $ 2.25 a taco. The tacos were all pretty good. I liked the flavor of the Birria. The meat was stewed perfectly. The carne asada was well marinated and cooked. I couldn’t decide if I liked the Carne Asada or the Birria more. The Barbacoa that the cashier told me to get was stewed just like the Birria. I liked the Birria more than the Barbacoa. The Chinito liked the Cabrito. Their tacos aren’t cheap at $ 2.25 each. When I come here again, I am going to try the Birria plate since it looks so good. No need to come here on a Tuesday since the tacos are the same price everyday. El Cabrito is a winner.

My roommates and I were craving some birria, which is Mexican goat stew(some really good stuff). Since I was the Unilocaler of the house they looked to me to pull up my book marks(I had about 6 or 7 birria places bookmarked) and pick one that had: a. Good reviews b. Fairly close to our house We decided on El Cabrito. Now, I wish Unilocal would change to a 1 through 10 star rating system or at least allow .5 decimals. With 5 being«average» on the 1 to 10 scale, I would have given it an overall rating of 6. My overall experience here was a 3.5 stars on the 5 star scale. El Cabrito has outdoor seating only and a lot of people come here to get their food to go. The food here is very good, yet I won’t be coming back. Let me explain. The birria here is delicious. It reminded me of my vacation in Mexico City where my friend and I took the hotel’s driver and his car all over the city, trying out the BEST birria places that he knew of. El Cabrito’s birria is pretty darn good. And the service was great. The lady behind the register took our order with a smile and even cracked jokes with all of us. However, there is one major problem and that is the PORTIONS. When you pay $ 15 dollars and 11 cents for birria you expect high quality birria and enough of it to fill you up and make sure you go home feeling satisfied. Unfortunately, the portions you get here for what you pay for is pathetic. We got very little birria for the amount that we paid for. I’m not a birria neophyte. I’ve been to many, many places to eat birria and both my mom and grandmother have made it from scratch(yes, from scratch with a live goat!). I’ve never paid this much for birria and have gotten so little. In this instance, there was simply no reason to complain. I’m going to vote with my wallet and go to another birria place when the craving hits. Loved the birria here(it was at least 4 stars), but the small portion for what they charge is, frankly, an insult.
