Love this place wish we come here a lot. The coffee de Olla is the best! With Pozole soo good. I love coming here! It reminds me of the restaurants in Ensenada!

My new favorite posole. Chicken posole is amazing. I’m writing this review after going back 3 times. I can’t bring myself to try anything else because, well, the chicken posole is that good. We also ordered the cheese quesidilla for my son. The tortilla was soft and fluffy and almost buttery :) mmmmmm…

First time here and I loved it! The vibe here is so calm… Wait time is about 10 min which is worth the wait… I had El Favorito which is chilaquiles red or green you can chose chicken carne asada or eggs and is accompanied with fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee and a fresh bolillo… I really recommend the café de olla

I had been here when it was newly opened and remember the pozole was good. I came back bc I was craving enchiladas and since I was in the area, Unilocal directed me here. First strike — no soda. Like they don’t have a machine or apparently a fridge. They have agua Fresca but not what I wanted. Ok onto the enchiladas. $ 10 for two wet tortillas stuffed with chicken and topped with iceberg lettuce and a drizzle of sour cream and cheese. Nothing special about the sauce and kinda flavorless. My kid got the sopes and again, a flat tortilla topped with beans, iceberg and sauce for $ 10. Maybe I should stick to pozole ! Oh and never in my life have I paid $ 4.50 for an horchata — especially when it comes from a powder !

I came here last week with a group of 8 and was a bit disappointed with their customer service. We all really enjoyed the food especially the pozole so I decided to bring my husband and kids here too. So, you walk in and no one greets you. Mind you, this is the second time I’ve walked in and been ignored for a few minutes. It took quite a while to get seated due to all the dirty empty Tables. Our drinks all came after our food yet it was ordered before. Bottom line is if you expect good customer service this is probably not the place. The food is great though so all the stars for that.

A signature coffee with sweetener and a hint of cinnamon with freshly squeezed orange juice and enchiladas for breakfast all inclusive with the meal and complimentary bread with butter and jelly. can’t wait to comeback for more!!! Cute little spot in Santa Ana. People are really nice. Thank you Alejandro for being a great server.

Some of the best tasting Mexican breakfast I’ve ever had. I have been there several times. Service is also good. I have recommended this restaurant to everyone I know and make sure to check in on my social media when I visit because I just love it. Favorite dish is «the favorito»(chilaquiles) Verdes with over easy egs. Not your average chilaquiles! They come with beans, coffee de Hoya and a side of fruit or fruit juice. A must try!!! You are wondering why I gave it 4 stars. Here is why: –The restaurant is very small and their waiting list system is not great. They have a very flimsy easel and chalk board outside for customers to write their name. — I sat right across from the kitchen today and I witnessed both waitresses grab the bread with their bare hands every time before serving it to their customers. I know, some might think this is no big deal… but it is! The waitress/server punches in the orders on to a pcs screen, handles money, wet rags to clean tables… I was surprised to see it happen over and over again… I guess this is a normal thing. I’m hoping that the owner or manager of the restaurant reads these comments. It’s something that they should look into… this restaurant is fantastic otherwise.

I was in need of hot soup that would cure my cold/flu. Yes, the soup cured my itchy throat and the headache I had. It was a perfect healing soup for me. Pozole blanco — soup was simple, clear broth with hominy & your choice of meat(I had the pork). You get shredded lettuce, radish, onion, salsa, & lime for the fixins. Super clean & delicious tasting. The coffee — café de olla is good but it is made with instant coffee granules. When I asked for the regular cup of coffee, server brought out the instant coffee granules. It was kind of a new experience for me to have an instant coffee. Tortillas — are not house made, I expected the real thing… The bread that came before the meal was good — nice chewy crust & soft inside! Country Crock spread & strawberry jam goes great with this bread! Service — nice, friendly, & attentive. It is a small restaurant, so go early to beat the crowd. If you love pozole — try them out!

Looked good on Unilocal so I decided to drop by on the way home. Got there early enough to beat the morning rush. Sat out in the patio which was nice. Staff was also nice but service was a little slow which I’m not complaining about because it is a Sunday morning. But the wait was worth it. Ordered the Enchiladas a la Mexicans and the café de olla. Breakfast was really good. I would definitely go back if I’m ever in the area again.

Worst customer service ever!!!

I came in here once to grab a drink, a large horchata. They charged me $ 6.21! That’s SIXDOLLARS and twenty one cents for a drink in a Styrofoam cup that doesn’t contain alcohol!

The food here is honestly really good BUT I’m only giving them 2 stars because this place honestly has the worst customer service ever. I’ve been here many times and every time it is the same dissapointment with their customer service.

Came here cause I read fellow Unilocaler people’s reviews. Walked in, stood there for like 3 minutes and nobody said hello to us or told us what to do. There were crumpled up napkins on the floor right when we walked in and it was soooo hot inside so we left. Bye lol

Unfortunately I may have been to this place on one of their bad days, we all have one. Went in on a Sunday, service is great, food has a blend taste not close to authentic Mexican as a lot of the reviews claim. Overall affordable, but they did not have tortillas that day, no Oaxaca cheese, no pork for one of the advertised plates, and the coffee tasted a bit too light. Expected a nice tasty hole in the wall; it’s okay. Would not travel far for it but it does look clean and they do show the effort to go the extra mile.

This tiny place is a gem. I enjoyed yummy café de olla and fresh made to order bisquets. But the true star was the chilaquiles with salsa verde. This is not your run of the mill Mexican breakfast dish. No way! The chips were fresh and the salsa verde was flavorful(you have your choice of red or verde). Then there’s the queso, creama, and sliced onion. All of this is topped with eggs cooked over easy. Yes, eggs over easy not scrambled. All that yellow, yolky goodness… mmmm yummy. I’m a convert… no more chilaquiles with scrambled eggs for me! The service was friendly and spot on. Free café refills and fresh juice served with the all day breakfast dishes will bring me back for more.

Let’s start by saying WOW!!! If you’re looking for that home style fresh authentic Pozole then you need to check out Potzoldencano! The place is very small which is the reason why the wait to sit can take a while… They have only a few small tables to sit inside and several tables outside! Believe me though, the wait is definitely worth it. I do agree with other people who wrote reviews about their waiting system… it kinda sucks and needs to be changed… Simply put, there is a chalk board outside that most people overlook as they enter the place… that is where you put your name and the number of people that will be sitting with you. Aside from all that, I decided to have the large chicken Pozole… Damn it was amazing!!! Plus I also had chicken sopes to top it all off with a nice ice cold Mexican Coke! The Pozole was just perfect… Perfect flavor, perfect amount of chicken and maiz!!! I will definitely will be especially on a nice cold day! P.S… YOUNEEDTOTRYTHEIRCAFEDEOLLA … I love this place and so should you!

A couple of friends and I visited Potzoldencano around the brunch hour on a Saturday. It is located in a small plaza off the intersection of McFadden and Bristol. They have a chalk board outside that you put your name on and wait to be called for a table. I would advise going in and letting them know you’re there so that they keep you in mind when tables become available. After about 15 minutes we were provided a table outside in their patio which was perfect as the weather was clear and sunny. Their menu is pretty straight forward and includes a lot of options. I decided on the chilaquiles plate with carne asada, my friend ordered the chilaquiles with scrambled eggs and my other friend got the chicken pozole. Our meals were served with our choice of juice and coffee. I decided on the horchata and coffee. It had taken quite a while for our server to finally come over to us and take our order and for our coffee to arrive after that. We asked for milk for our coffee and never received it but fortunately found that it really didn’t need it. The café de olla was delicious! They offered free refills which my friend and I gladly received. After a while all of our plates arrived at once. The pozole was served with a bunch of different sides so that you could personalize it on your own. I had initially asked for hot sauce for my chilaquiles — I like my spice — to which I received a confused look from our server. I didn’t ever get the sauce but ended up finding that I didn’t need it. The meal was delicious all on its own. The carne asada was tasty, the green chilaquiles sauce was spicy and the meal was overall very satisfying. My friend who got hers with scambled eggs really enjoyed it as well. My other friend who got the pozole didn’t complain one bit and scarfed down the entire bowl without saying a word. The horchata was the perfect amount of sweet and my friend said her orange juice tasted freshly squeezed. Despite the slow service and confusion between the server and our requests, the food and drinks were delicious and I definitely plan on coming back to try their famous pozole.

This place, upon first glance, looks so inconspicuous. I walked in and was greeted with smiles. I ordered the huevos benedictos. It came with delicious coffee & a soft bolillo roll. This was a tasty, meatless mexican version of eggs Benedict. It’s a small space inside, but they also offer a small outdoor dining patio. My only gripe were the front doors were not able to fully close on their own each time any one walked in or out. It was very chilly outside so some one nearest the door was constantly getting up to close them. Aside from this, the menu selection & plates I saw coming from the kitchen looked great.

Upping my rating to 5 stars. They continue to serve fantastic tasting food. Evidently the owner paid attention to the needs of his clients and FINALLY! Hired more servers. The next goal should be expanding. Sunday mornings are VERY, VERY busy. If you don’t make it in before 9am, expect a wait. I have tried about 95% of the dishes. I won’t eat anything that serves Sunnyside eggs, runny yolks gross me out. My husband has and gives his 2 thumbs up of approval. The plates are reasonably priced and great portions. I have shared my plate with the hubs. Definitely would recommend this place.

I really wanted to try this place out, has really good reviews and thought I should come and give it a try for myself. My boyfriend and I came for some good Mexican breakfast, boy we were fooled!!! He had the«amazing» chilaquiles everyone talks about and honestly bag tortilla chips with some flavorless salsa and some cheese drizzled on top are not my type of chilaquiles. I had the enfrijoladas, which was just some tortillas with cheese swimming in bean juice! So beans + tortillas chips +cheese= $ 30 I don’t thinks so. Yeah DONOT come here!!! Oh I gave them one star because their waters are good! Lol

Huge, gigantic fan of pozole! Enormous fan of CHICKEN pozole! I’m not an avid pork eater but I don’t mind it when I have pozole. So I was sooo happy to find a place that makes it with chicken! My friend’s mom makes some delicious chicken pozole and potzoldencano nearly mimics my friend’s! It just tastes homemade & hearty! I love that it’s so simple and delicious at the same time! As far as I know, they make pozole blanco only! It’s definitely more bland than the red or green ones I’ve had but it’s definitely healthier! I usually get it to go but I want to actually dine in one day! Their breakfast items and Mexican hot chocolate looks mouthwatering and delectable! Enjoy!:)

Starting with the coffee it was so good no sugar needed flavorful and you can really taste the authenticity. The served bolillos with butter and jam such a good pair with the coffee. I got the tradicional Which is chilaquiles with red sauce and comes with beans and I decided to top it off with scrambled eggs. The beans are perfect very good perfectly seasoned. The red sauce is good not spicy and it has a well balanced flavor of tomato, chile and what other ingredients they use. I would definitely drive all the way over here just to try all the variety of traditional Mexican food they have that it’s not seen in any other so called Mexican restaurants they have in the Los Angeles area.
