I really like shopping at My Sweet Pinneapple. The variety is wonderful and I think the prices are fair. I have always had good service here. It’s nice that the owner is mother of young children, so she is able to help with advice on purchases of children’s clothing. This is a unique local business and a really nice addition to the Santa Barbara shopping experience. I will make sure I stop in for some Holiday shopping!

Amazing little shop! I saved time and money, and I ended up finding something that I could not find anywhere. not even online!

I have only browsed, not bought, at My Sweet Pineapple but now I have friends with kids and one in particular I can’t WAIT to shop for this Christmas. She is 5 and such a little doll, loves princesses and I will find her a dress here. I felt compelled to stand up for this store as two women were quite scathing and punitive. First of all, this is Santa Barbara. The prices may be high but I saw dresses of a caliber you do NOT see at «department» stores, by which I am thinking of Macy’s. Macy’s SB is horrible. Short Hills Mall in NJ, a very upscale Mall, has a Macy’s reminiscent of the heyday of that store in NY, LA etc. I looked in first when it was by Opal downtown and saw very elegant and fancy dresses far lower than Mon Ami, the kid’s store in Palisades which I think is all new, no consignment. I think these women are very mean and angry, frankly. As a Unilocaler, I feel an obligation to judge a place FOR what it is, not for what it’s not. This is not the Salvation Army or Alpha Thrift. I buy adult consignment almost exclusively: Lola of SB, The Cottage in Pacific Palisades, Twice the Style in Newport Beach(I got 7 things there in April). And recently, Deja Vu in Tom’s River NJ which had 5 dollar rack where I made out like a bandit. But you WILL save money here versus shopping Ralph Lauren for kids or some other designer brand. And please – if you can’t control your kids’ candy consumption, too bad. It’s not the owner’s responsibility to withhold candy because YOU have no control over your child’s wants, needs, desires. Again, it’s still going to be less money than first-hand and this is not intended for mothers on strict budget, not a «middle-class» income bracket kinda place. When I go to a hole in the wall diner, I don’t expect the Four Seasons When I go to the Four Seasons, I don’t expect 1 dollar taco stand. It is THESE women who are out of touch, not the owner of My Sweet Pineapple.

I’ve been to this store a few times in hopes that my experience would improve from the last time. I’ve always found the prices to be extremely high for a consignment store and out of touch with the financial concerns and needs of parents who actually shop these types of stores. Today was my last visit, though. An item that I looked at had its original tags on and it said $ 49.50, but the My Sweet Pineapple tag was marked more than that, at $ 56.50. I’ve seen the owner at many garage sales and I am pretty clear she never paid even close to that original price for that one little dress. I love shopping at consignment stores for a couple factors… saving money is a big one, and I also like the«green» factor of re-using. This store leaves me feeling like I’m being taken advantage of and I don’t know anyone who likes that factor.

Outfitted my grandchildren with high end clothing here at prices that can’t be beat ANYWHERE ! Terrific selection for all their ages — plus candy for my sweet tooth.

I honestly can not imagine people buy things here. The selection is huge, especially the little girl’s clothes, but the price is basically sales price from department stores. It defeats the point of shopping at a second hand store, unless you are the type who wants to brag about shopping at a not middle income boutique consignment store. I wanted to bring in some clothes to sell and receive store credit in exchange, but the owner wasn’t there and the person who worked there didn’t have a clue on the pricing. The most annoying aspect of the store is a big barrel of candy right by the cash register. Waving candies in front of young kids usually do not result in a good calming shopping experience for moms. Of course, I deny my kids sugary food all the time, but if you think kids are going to rationally accept that with full understanding, then you might just be an over privileged out of touch person who never actually spend an entire day with a kid.

Hands down the best store in Santa Barbara to find clothing and accessories for both kids and adults — lots of designer items at great prices. A MUSTSEE!
