I stumbled upon this gem of a studio when trying to figure out where I wanted to professionally mix and master my band’s new EP. From the first time I spoke with Garrett on the phone, to going in and meeting him and Tucker face to face, to getting in there and getting down to business, this studio is as good as it gets and has become like a second home to me. The atmosphere is full of positive energy and the design and layout is second to none. Tucker and the rest of the staff know what they’re doing, and ensure that you’re 110% happy with your final product. They take your input and feedback, and add their skills to produce top-​notch recordings in all-​inclusive sessions. I will definitely be coming back again and again to Playback; this place rocks!

Playback is a perfect example of why a good recording studio is worth so much more than a garage. Everything about Playback is professional — the sound quality and design are unparalleled, the people super nice and great to hang out with, and the ambiance of the place more pleasant than your own living room (and with a hell of a lot better interior design). Garrett and Tucker are amazing guys. I have never felt more at home in a recording studio environment. I brought my daughter in to record her first tracks, and she felt right at home, totally unintimidated, and was so comfortable that we nailed her songs after just a few takes. I can’t imagine a better recording studio anywhere.

This studio is amazing! Not only is the inside impeccably designed, but the acoustics are fabulous as well. There are multiple rooms to record different sounds, and everyone who works there is incredibly professional. Anyone who wants to record a demo or a voiceover should come here. It’s close to LA, but the vibe in Santa Barbara is completely different. If you’re looking for somewhere to spend a few days relaxing and working without the bustle of the city, this is your haven!
