Late Post from Saturday 6÷13÷15 (Sorry for the delay in posting, I guess I didn’t finish…) A date & I were walking along state street on a Saturday night after leaving another restaurant(Baja) that was charging an entrance fee(a UFC Fight was on). We heard music & saw it was somewhat empty. We thought ok, cool. I like when its not too busy, so I can get quick service. All the bartenders were nice. I didn’t get his name, but he helped us & served us quick, very knowledgable about drinks. Seemed like the DJ was setting up for the night. I enjoyed his mixes, kept me thinking what song was coming on next. They had a projection on the wall playing videos. Which I like when at a bar. But it was playing on the wall, not on a projection screen, but the actual wall. Anyway, we were enjoying ourselves w/the music & the vibe. Until, it started to get busy. We were sitting at the bar while there were people standing behind us. Well that group of people just got there, had drinks in their hand & Idk if they were arguing w/each other or just plain sloppy, but one of them either threw or dropped their glass of beer. Beer & broken glass pieces all over the floor. Someone came, swept & cleaned everything up. Then everyone went back to their business… So a song that I like came on & I decided I wanted to get up to dance. As soon as I stood up I hear a «crack»! Apparently there was a piece glass on the floor next me. As soon as I got down from the bar seat & stepped on the ground the piece of glass pierced the bottom of my foot. Ouch! Man! That freakin hurt. All I saw on my foot was blood. I was bleeding & asking the bartender for napkins to stop the blood. I had to tell the bartender/worker what happened. They just ask if I was ok. I said no, but I’ll be ok. I think he was asking if I wanted drink, I just asked for a band aid. Then when I felt able to walk we left. That really ruined my night in SB& totally killed our buzz. Don’t know if I’ll return, but if I do, I hope nothing like that happens again.

I’d heard about a bar named Statemynt from a couple people when I started going out in Santa Barbara. Apparently it was one of the local spots. When I finally went with a friend, I realized I’d walked passed tons of times but didn’t even know it was there. There wasn’t a huge crown when we went in, definitely not a bumping club atmosphere. I wouldn’t call it a laid back bar feel either, though. There statemynt snapples are BOMB but not something I crave every time I go out. I really liked everyone working there and even though my friend and I mainly kept to ourselves, all the other people there seemed pretty laid back.

Made the mistake of going Halloween night thinking it would be fun but the bartenders ignored us for 20+ minutes. After an order mix up one of the bartenders called me and my friends idiots– he was so incredibly rude. Makes me not really want to go there again. Go somewhere else!

Bar sucks for singles. The bar tinder is kind of a dick. They treat singles like trash. And don’t want to serve them new drinks. You will walk in and feel good and then used and want to leave right away.

Wish I could leave minus 10 stars for the asshole at the bar. We literally walked in and the bartender said he needs to see our IDs. My 2 friends didn’t hear him and kept walking. He goes up to them and says I need to see your ID and she said she has my ID. He said you guys need to leave because I’m not going to let her talk to me like that. He kicked us out! That’s why you have 4 people in your bar cause you’re an asshole!

This place is fantastic! My girlfriend and I stopped in one night while visiting Santa Barbara and fell in love. Mike, the owner and main bartender, is super friendly and made our experience extremely fun. We make sure to come back every time we visit SB!

This place is such a hidden gem! Wandered into this bar for the tough tied USA and Portugal game during World Cup 2014, and the bartenders were sooo welcoming. We came with our girlfriend for her bachelorette party and the Statemynt staff gave us three rounds of delicious shots… On them. :) Such a fun environment, great service, awesome music… Would go back in a heartbeat. Thanks guys!!!

We stopped in for a drink as we were ambling around Santa Barbara. My friend got a really superb Irish coffee which I would have had except that they had no decaf available. I had the Baileys and cream. The bartender said that they only had heavy cream and that he would make me something else if I didn’t like it. Very accommodating. And he brought our drinks out to us when we were standing at the small outdoor bar area. I thought that was nice as well. There was a cool DJ, but no crowd although we were told the crowd shows up after 11 pm and we were there early. Very nice view of the street from the outdoor bar which I enjoyed very much. The bar itself was sticky and could have used a good cleaning. 4 stars for the drinks and service, star removed for the cleanliness. I might not make an effort to come back to this venue, but it’s certainly not at all bad. The Irish coffee was a big hit with my friend and I am sure he will be back for that. Statemynt, you are A-Ok with me!

Best spot on the street… no attitude, awesome service. There are no bells and whistles, but the bar doesn’t pretend like it wants them. It’s aware of what it is and what niche it fills — and if you judge it based on the criteria it sets forth for itself, it succeeds on every level. Bonus: great sound system and bartenders.

Mike robbed me $ 50 tonight when I couldn’t decide which bottle to buy, and then admitted he stole it from me because he didn’t like me, then threatened me and told me never to come back. I told him I was going to negativereview #buycott his ass, all over the net. Please tell all of your friends to take this place off the map, start fights, steal drinks, trash it. I’m out.

My friend and I spent NYE here! It picked up quickly and every one there was very nice! DJ was the bomb & Ted made the best Long Island Iced Tea ever! I didn’t expect Santa Barbara would be THE place to go and have fun, but it made the NYE so much fun & nice. I will definitely go back there soon~* ;)

I heart this place and Ted the bartender is AWESOME. Wasn’t sure Santa Barbara was a place to get my dance on until we stumbled upon Statemynt. Good music, plenty of space and an empty dance floor. I was with a group of 11 girls who left Savoy because it was lame. We had so much fun that the bartender invited us back the next night for bottle service. Quality service, good music and no line for the bathroom. Statemynt is a do!

Good DJ, no crowd Very unusual club. The bartenders are cool as shit, the place is setup nice, but the 3 nights i was here i’d walk by and hardly anyone would be in there. The DJ has amazing mixes so i came in and ordered some drinks. Place got a lil crowd, but nothing special. I have little experince with this place so if i were you i’d drop by next time your on state street looking for something to do. If its empty you have the rest of the street atleast.

Expensive drinks, horrible house music, and a general rundown look is the only statemynt this place made.

This place took over the old Study Hall. This venue is about almost a year old. There is one room. It gets VERY crowded as the night goes on. People tend to flock here around 11 and again towards the nights end. They will not let you in usually around 1:15 because it closes at 2. The décor: it is dark inside, very opened, they have pictures of dead celebrities on the walls. Take it as you will(I think that’s their«statemynt»). They have one full bar that gets very crowded once the night goes on, they have several couches for people to sit on, most people will dance on them if they have a chance, they also have a couch in the back where you can sit, its near the bathroom though. Healthy… They also have a dance floor towards the back, it’s pretty small. The way they have this set up is not the best. They make it out to be a dance club though it is set up as a lounge and therefore, it gets too crowded. The drinks are decent. They are a bit more pricey here than most of the bars around the area. Since there are not very many lounge/club like places around except maybe Tonic and a few others. Statemynt is trying to give SB people more of the club-like scene to go to. The music is very good though, includes house, dance, top 40, and old hip hop. This is a trendy place. A downside would be how loud this place is! Don’t bother trying to talk and speak clearly and loudly when talking to the bartenders. Overall, this is not in my top 5 bars to go to in SB, however, it is a nice change for those who are bored of the regular casual, laid back bar scene that is usually around.
