3 geeks truck, Hayward CA: Off The Grid: Fish & Chips. Delicious! My fish was fresh, cooked perfectly, and the breading was great, Not quit English style, but great. They also gave me a handful of carrots and broccoli.

I tried their basic meat and cheese Philly sandwich at Off the grid in Fremont just a little bit ago. The sandwich was light on the meat, which was dry and not fresh tasting at all. For $ 9 I expected a decent sandwich, but it was one of the worst I’ve had. Food trucks are supposed to offer a great value due to lower overhead, but Bob’s Hoagy Steaks offers a better sandwich with more and better quality meat for the same price at their restaurant just a few miles away. Thanks to Rice Rocket for saving the day with a KILLER longanisa burrito.

Everything is good here! Chicken cheese steak sandwich is my favorite. I have tried it when they came to OFFTHEGRID event at Hillsdale Mall in San Mateo! Here is 5 stars for the amazing food!

I tried these guys out for the first time, while at Off The Grid in Fremont the other day. I ordered their Fish Po’boy. Very good! Warning: Be sure to have plenty of napkins and a fork. I will definitely patronize them in the future.

Tried these guys out for the first time, while at Off The Grid in Palo Alto tonight. There is a variety of fried seafoods and«Philly» cheesesteaks, which I found odd for a moment but then it dawned on me that this is ideal truck food. We don’t have good Philly Cheesesteaks in this rea, I’ve tried but have been unsatisfied wit everything I’ve sampled from Sf to SJ. Having grown up on the East Coast and had authentic Philly Cheesesteaks. what we have here are pale imitations. This truck definitely is one step better than average as their flavor profile is rather decent. Te chicken cheesesteak included onions cheese and mushrooms as best as I could tell, on an oversized mushy soft roll. Philly Cheesesteaks are traditionally served on very soft rolls but these seemed to be like those tasteless supermarket rolls you pick up by the half dozen on sale at the supermarket. They work but there is nothing special about them. The downslide is that the cheesesteak here is skimpy, there is very little chicken in the chicken cheesesteak, they do include all the toppings but there is so little chicken that its hard to make out the chicken flavor. That said, the flavor profile is actually good. The authentic cheesesteaks I have had all included double to triple the amount of meat on them, making the meat flavor the rodomgnant flavor and which makes sense because I but he sandwich for the protein, its not worth to for the bread with some onions on it. The staff is friendly but the service is slow. Considering thiat I saw three people on the truck, I just don’t see any reason for why it soul be that slow. 3Geeks is good enough for yo to check out and we will definite be trying everything on their menu each time they come back.

It was the most beautiful thing I have ever experienced. In fact, I spent an hour gazing into the beauty that is the chicken cheesesteak before devouring it’s contents. I now think of this wonder every time I have cereal in the morning. 1⁄1 would eat again. I am confused, because at the bottom it says to put mustard on that review, but I am allergic to mustard, so I must refrain from such an act.

$ 10 For a Shrimp Po Boy. In which the shrimp tastes the the back of a freezer. The bread is convenience store fluff, not even close to po boy bread. Didn’t even finish my sandwich. Sigh. Way off the mark.

I split the Fish Po’boy with my coworker but regret not getting 1 all for myself. The fish fillet sandwich is much better than the fillet-o-fish from McDonald’s(may be an insult to some, but it was actually my favorite fish fillet sandwich until now). The sandwich had the right amount of fish, lettuce, & my favorite– tartar sauce. Make sure to grab a lot of napkins. The sandwich can get super messy– but definitely worth trying. UPDATE: 3GEEKS is really inconsistent with their fish po’boy sandwiches. The first time, everything was great; fish, lettuce, tartar sauce was all correctly placed and portioned. The second time, the fillets of fish were just placed on top of the sandwich. I had to push the fish inside to be able to take a bite out while making a mess. And the most recent time, I got a fishy smelling fillet. I ended up tossing half of my po’boy away because I couldn’t get passed the taste.

I ordered the chicken cheese steak and they forgot all the topping… so I ordered an $ 8 sandwich that had dry chicken and bread(no cheese!). No thanks.

Philly cheesesteak on a truck! I must admit I was a bit leery about approaching a philly cheesesteak truck, but it was pleasant experience of philly cheesesteak from a food truck with fresh taste. I am writing this review after having their cheesesteak few times. I haven’t had their other options, but their philly cheesesteak with mushrooms and onions… gotta love it!

Solid popcorn scrimps! Very friendly team. Their POS was acting up, so they asked for cash. Luckily it wasn’t an issue; they kicked down with some extra for my troubles. :) Little disappointed with the fish was made with tilapia and not cod.

Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? The rest of the reviews seem to be glowing, but my order of fish and chips was really disappointing. Eight dollars for a single thin piece of breaded fish over a bed of decent chips? No thanks. The breading itself was just lackluster, for fish and chips the flakey airy breading is the best, but this type of breading is flat and dense and while it works well in sandwiches(probably what everyone else ordered) its just doesn’t stand on its own. I really love fish and chips, but not from here.

To keep it short and sweet, the menu isn’t too extensive, but the cheese steak comes with three different cheese options and plenty of toppings to choose from and was very tasty, probably the best food truck cheese steak I’ve ever had. The shrimp po boy was also delicious and the amount of shrimp given is very generous. Only complaint was the French fries had a seasoning which had a kick to it that I did not expect, but overall this truck was very good.

Fried seafoods and cheesesteaks? Kind of a weird combo for a truck but I do like both things. I decided I was on a seafood kick so I asked for a combo plate of the prawns, popcorn shrimp, clams and fish. All solid. A lot of folks fry things but few know how to do it properly. Everything came out just right without the excess grease. I think the clams may have been a bit thick on the batter but everything else was right. the folks working the truck that day were also super nice. Definitely will check out the cheesesteak the next time around. 4.5 stars

One of the absolute best Cheese steak sandwiches ive ever had!!! It was so fresh! I had reservations about eatimg from the truck. But the owner was super nice and it was outside my work so I went for it. I even saw the inside of the truck and it was super clean!!! Highly recommended! My girlfriend tried the chicken cheese steak and it was also phenomenal. In closing… go here! Food is legit!

Alright I must admit I’m not an expert w/cheese steaks. But we loved their cheese steak w/chicken, veggie cheesesteak and popcorn shrimp. Fries were ok — little spicy for kids. Make sure you eat while it’s still warm. Very friendly crew and nice location under plenty of shade to make it a nice eat out. Would definitely eat there if I come across it next time.
