Puliyogare is superp here. Ginger tea is great for the cold weather in bay area Thatte Idli is made of Chana dal, coconut and other Indian spices. Everything is made fresh. That makes this place a great place to enjoy your snack or meal

Food is great. Ambiance is okay. But the guy serving at the billing counter is pathetic. Does not know how to talk to customers. 3 stars just got bad customer service.

Quality of the food has gone down considerably. Set dosa was bad. Chutney was served chilled and stale. Sambar wasn’t even edible. Don’t waste your time at this place

Being true to the name, the menu has dishes that Bangaloreans like me miss in most restaurants in the bay(+1 just for that). The thing I miss the most and the best thing on the menu here is the Masala Puri Since that is always my starting point the rest is pretty much a downhill. Not that the food is bad, the taste is not consistent across visits. The chutney and Sambar mainly being the culprits. The other thing I like about this place are the ice creams. Yummy and unique(have you tried the Gulkand which is a rose petal ice cream ?)

Masala puri and bisibelebath. The best place in the bay area for the above. I get cravings once in a while to have these two and this is wher I go. Masala puri is undoubtedly the best here!

A simple ‘bengaluru chaat and south indian snacks’ place. I put that particular phrase in quotes because it definitely serves dishes with a distinct Bengaluru flavor leading to their apt name. Now this can be a good thing and bad thing… depends on if you hail from Bengaluru in South India and if you like that particular style of cooking… more grated coconut, nicely spiced, tangy & slightly more oily but tasty nevertheless. Quantity served could be a bit more. They have a good array of Indian ice cream flavors. I recommend the Masala Puri, a chaat item you wouldn’t get in many authentic chaat places too. Keep you expectations average and you will come out fairly satisfied.

I loved the puliyoghare, Mysore masala dosa, and the various ice creams they offer. Pav bhaji was okay. When I have more time, I’ll write more about this place!

We visited this place in hopes of authentic Bangalore/Karnataka food. We ordered 2 combo which includes masala dosa and idly-vada. We liked the idli vada but the masala dosa was very soggy and both the dosa and filling didn’t taste anything like a masala dosa. It was too oily also. Being a South Indian myself it was a big disappointment. Nothing great about the place. Neither food, nor ambience/maintenance. It’s very average restaurant. Have not tried bisibele Bath, set dosa Etc.

Real ice creams store is named as bangalore café. Ordered dosa’s and coffee. Both were good and tasty. Didn’t order the ice cream this time though.

The place is supposed to bring you specialties of Karnataka state in India particularly Bangalore area. but the foods we ordered Masala dosa, masala puri and bisibelebath which are all Bangalore region specialties were either mediocre to bad. The dosa was crisp and nice to start with, but putting in very spicy powder inside, it was kind of messed up. I’ve never eaten so spicy masala dosa in bangalore itself. Masala puri was nothing special. Most notably it was missing tomatoes and way less spicy than expected. The biggest disappointment was Bisibelebath, a favourite Karnataka special. This was messed up big time. first it didnt have the distinct flavour the dish is supposed to have. This seemed more like sambar rice and dal. And for a odd combination it was again over spiced and also with excessive sugar in it, it tasted somewhat weird not the least like what Bisibele bath you get in Bangalore. The desert Falooda was average, except for the mangoe icecream in it. Also the cashier had little emotion, no smiles. nothing. Overall I can believe this guy is still in business selling average food in a shabby looking location.

The Indian ice cream is 100% authentic — a must for kulfi lovers. Their chaats are below average though.

My friend brought me here, and this was my first time at an authentic South Indian place! This is definitely a place to come with a friend who knows and understands what’s on the menu or if you’re up for an adventure! We ordered an assortment of different dishes and shared them. Everything is vegetarian here, so it’s a recommended place for my non-meat-nommers! Pav bhat: This is a curry with lightly baked bread. They also provided a side of diced onions and a lime. I ate it simply and just dipped the bread with the curry, but I was informed that the correct way was to sprinkle the onions on the combination and then to add some lime juice. Samosa chaat: This is a crumbled samosa that is lathered with a wonderful curry that wonderfully balances the potato-peas-and awesomeness samosa. On its own, the samosa is pretty good, but with the sauce, it really brings out the flavor and the crisp texture of the samosa. Sev puri: I didn’t like this as much for two reasons. The bread underneath was really crunchy, and I felt like I was eating something really dry. The raw onions were also a little overwhelming for me, but I was told that you can ask for this to be excluded from the other. Other than the entrees we ordered and many others offered, they also specialize in freshly made ice creams of different flavors. They make all of the ice creams by hand, and they are also egg-less.

I was not familiar with Chaat and had Papdi Chaat. I did not realize the meal was a chilled dish, but still enjoyed the food and casual atmosphere. Here are some observations: 1. The people who run the place are very nice. 2. On the wall they have a photograph of their menu offering(though there is not a description of them). 3. The offer a Chaat menu and a South Indian menu. 4. They have excellent mango lassie. 5. They have excellent home made ice creams, and Indian Kufli ice creams. 6. They prefer cash and if you’re under $ 15, there is a small fee for debit cards. 7. Very mellow vibe, seems like a good place to go with friends and family.

Have been here multiple times. Chats and masala dosa tastes pretty close to what you get in hotels in Bangalore. This is the only place in bay area where you get Masala Puri like in Bangalore and it tastes good too. Masala dosa is very good. Bisi bele bath is a hit/miss. Kulfi is always good. The ambience and the owner are major drawbacks of this place

Potato tikki was not good. It was like having no crispness in it, just boiled potatos :( Papdi chaat was good Idli sambhar was okay too. Less sambhar and more idlis though. However taste was good. Paani puri was good too. So why 3 stars? Because the gentleman at the front desk had some serious attitude problems. He does not smile, seems angry and rude and argued with us. Dude — you r at front desk. Learn to entertain guest or have someone else take the job.

Better than most chaat places around. Some pretty authentic south indian dishes. Would recommend trying out their sitaphal icecream and bisibele bath.

Food is really good, liked masala poori, maddur vade, ice creams. Owner of this place is not friendly at all, service is just okay.
