Some two years ago I brought my 370z soft-​top convertible to the dealership because the headliner was tearing. This turned into a 6 month disaster wherein the dealership ultimately completely broke the convertible top — but that’s another story. Towards the end of this, they sub-​contracted the car out to Bascom Trim & Upholstery to replace the entire top. The car came back to me in better-​than-​new condition, and I was super impressed with the work Bascom T&U did.
Fast forward 2.5ish years ago… I noticed some plastic parts had come lose and fallen out of the top assembly. Seems they were reinforcement plates to prevent the canvas from being chewed up by the mechanism. The dealership had no idea what was going on, so I gave BT&U a ring and brought the car down.
The folks over there were awesome — quickly identified what went wrong and agreed take care of it the following morning. When I arrived, I was offered donuts & coffee while I waited ~30 for the work to be done. They cut some pieces of leather and cemented them in to take care of the issue.
Despite my being over a year out of warranty, Bascom T&U wouldn’t charge me a dime! They completed the repair quickly & successfully, and completely on the house! Again I’m very impressed with their work, and they’ve got a great group of folks working there was well based on the people I got the pleasure of interacting with.

My Porsche Boxster had an elastic tension band rip. This led to the convertible top not being aligned correctly when it is up, and wind noise is louder. The band itself also stuck out every once in a while when the top is up. Porsche of Stevens Creek recommended this place for the repair. I called Ryan and met John, who gave me a reasonable estimate, lower than I expected. I brought in my car for them to take a look at and confirm that they can fix it as well as confirm the quoted price.
The day came when I dropped off my car. I took the offer for a ride to work. Before I took off to work, John confirmed the condition of the car, the work needed to be done, quoted price, and also the estimated time it would take. I requested that John call me when the job is complete.
About the time that it would take to complete, John called to notify me that my car would be ready in a few minutes and that I could pick it up anytime afterwards. I arrived to pick up my car at lunch, checked to see that everything was in working order, and it looked as well as worked great. The convertible top was now aligned correctly, the band no longer sticks out of the convertible top when it’s up, and the wind noise is now reduced as it once was.
The price was about what John quoted me and I happily paid for the service. I think my experience here was very solid and the team went above my own expectations. Everything was smooth from the beginning to end, from free estimate to the time of payment. My problem wasn’t as difficult to fix as others who have reviewed here on Unilocal,however, I still think the quality of the services provided by Bascom Trim and Upholstery’s team was great. I’d recommend them to anyone in need of fixing their convertible tops. Thanks!

I found this shop on Unilocal and decided to come in and get a quote for my car the shop looked nice reception was lukewarm I have the exact look I want for my car I’m expecting someone to walk me through the ins and outs the best the guy can tell me is 1500 – 20 000. From a five star shop I would expect a better estimation and some details on where my money is going at the end of the day for whatever reason I feel like my potential business was unwanted. The 1 star reflects the way I was handled because I’m sure the quality of work is up to par.

I am very pleased with the new upholstery in my truck! I have a 2003 Toyoya Tundra that I use for work and anyone that has a work truck know’s how it can get really dirty. I’m in the home services field and I do over 20 service calls a week. Alot of tools are kept in the cab and even on the passenger seat. After a lengthy time of deciding which new truck I wanted, I had to re-​vamp the old truck so it’s more attractive to sale. I found Bascom Trim on Unilocal and due to their high Unilocal ratings and good feedback, I brought my truck to them to do a complete makeover in the interior. I originally only wanted a few parts replaced but when the estimator really dug deep into it, he was right. It needed alot more TLC to bring it up to par.
I got my truck back a few days later and it looks amazing! No more old grease smell, now more like a NEW car smell! Their level of detail is highly attentive. I couldn’t have asked for better work. I’m pretty confident of selling my vehicle for top dollar now. The new owner’s will love it.

I chose this shop based on recommendation from a car dealership. Nice job performing the requested repairs efficiently with reasonable rates. The company in addition made the extra effort to ensure I was content with their services.

Anything to do with cars, dealers, repair guys etc. You always think you’re going to get hosed and the worst part is, you don’t have the knowledge to try and understand anything.
Not the case here.
I had an unfortunate situation with some idiots cutting my convertible top and taking nothing. What’s that all about?
Anyway, through State Farm, I found this company that specializes in ragtops.
The entire experience was great. They were courteous, responsive and great.
They under promised and over delivered.
Absolutely recommend if you need a top, they’re the choice.

Stevens Creek Honda didn’t seem interested in fixing the worn out upholstery in my 2009 Pilot, and they referred me to Bascom Trim. Bascom Trim was fast and efficient, and got the repair down with factory parts so it is as good as new! Double thumb up for them.

I was recommended to these guys by MobilityWorks to get a custom cushion made for my accessible van. It took two visits but they made it exactly as I needed. Although it wasn’t cheap, the final product is high quality and looks like it came with the van. Definitely would come back here for similar needs.

My Girlfriend bought a lemon from Fremont Mazda (That review will be up shortly). After the first heavy rain of this season we noticed a weird smell in her «Certified Used» 2013 Mazda 3. We were referred to Bascom Trim & Upholstery by our insurance rep.
This shop is A+++ #1.
Although Mazda had already replaced the leaking seal that caused the water leak, the dealership wouldn’t take care of the water damage. Bascome Trim & Upholstery preformed another water test, to make sure there was no further damage. They replaced the carpeting, rear seat, and a few water damaged parts. They disinfected the interior (it smelled terrible) and put the car back together, exceeding our expectations.
I highly recommend Bascom Trim & Upholstery.

I am rebuilding a 1973 Dodge pick up and look forward to taking it to their shop in the future to get the interior finished.

I brought my 2005 Ford Mustang to Perry after the dealer recommended a complete motor assembly for the driver side seat, which was non-​operational in the forward position. Perry said that the motor was fine (which is what I diagnosed as well) and that it needed a new switch. He was able to order and bring in a new switch within a day and save me thousands plus down-​time. The dealer said that the switch was obsolete. Not so…

These guys are good… I mean GOOD. I was referred to Bascom by my dealership in Marin after the leather upholstery in the front seat area of my 2005 Acura RL literally disintegrated: front seats, arm rests, etc. Drive all the way from Marin to Santa Clara just for fixing some leather in your car??? You bet; for the right job… and Bascom did the job wonderfully. John Wardell couldn’t have been more helpful: from giving me a great price (sticking to his initial quote exactly), to picking me up (and delivering me) to the train station to and from my Marin travels. I brought my 2003 Jetta to Bascom Trim & Upholstery for a headliner replacement. Mine wasn’t critically damaged but started sagging.
The most important part of the repair was that the folks at Bascom identified a critical issue with my sunroof drainage tubes. They corrected an issue that two other repair shops, including the dealership, missed — and it would’ve cost me thousands this El Nino winter.
Last year, my sunroof drainage tubes clogged and it left 1″ of standing water in my car. I spent almost $ 3K having the tubes unplugged, carpet kit replaced and car dried out. This repair was not handled by Bascom (I did not know of their shop at that time).
Bascom ran water tests after replacing my headliner and saw that there was *still* water draining into my car. They pulled up the carpet, let it dry out, and then completely replaced the tubes. Honestly, if they hadn’t spotted this issue, my car would’ve been a submarine AGAIN this winter. I am beyond lucky they caught this issue, and grateful for their expertise.

After getting my window smashed on my Chevy Prizm on one ghoulish Halloween night in San Francisco, I was recommended to Bascom Trim as a reasonable and trustworthy shop to get my repairs done. I am so glad I went with them. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable staff. They were quick to get me a quote for parts (which was immediately available) and service to clean the glass out from the door and replace the window (which was done in hours). They even cleaned out some of the leftover shards from the back seat and fixed my janky door handle pro bono! All in all I felt like I was in good hands and that they were very reasonable with their price. Highly recommend these guys.

Leather dye job looked great at first, but then faded and peeled in less than two years.
Job was re-​done but results were the same as the first time.

Great service, I went to them to get tree sap off my hood, they did a great job. They drop you back at your home and once the job is done they return the car home.

The staff at Bascom Trim and Upholstery did everything they should have and more! My wife and I took her Acura MDX, upon the local dealers referral, to the crew at Bascom and the work was fantastic, the staff couldn’t have been nicer. They greeted us very politely, offered coffee and water, gave us a ride home, told us the car would be ready to pick up at 3 and when we came back to get it guess what? It was ready, the leather they replaced in the seat was just like new. John, the Manager even took the time to walk us to the car to make sure we were happy with the results and gave us valuable tips on how to care for the leather to make it last even longer this time.
I would not hesitate to tell anyone that needs these types of services to talk to the people at Bascom Trim and Upholstery. You can’t beat the service and their prices are great too!

I am a long-​time owner of a Toyota Land Cruiser, one of my most prized possessions. I have been wanting to completely restore this car (inside and out) for many years, and was most recently able to do so. This was my first such experience with restoring a car, or doing any major modifications or investment to a car, and I am SO thankful that I found Bascom Trim, and in particular John Wardell. John and his team provided truly amazing and consistent support and eduction before, during and after my project was completed.

I returned to bascom upholstery and had a difficult corvette c5 seat that needed some new foam and repair work and after dealing with Lucio I think we came up with a fair price and as I’ve been here a few times the quality of work speaks for itself and is top quality. Job is done and seat is perfect thanks to Bascom Trim my seat is like new again maybe better, excellent leather match

This is my first time writing a Unilocal review, and I did this simply because of Ryan Bascom. He is the best sales person I’ve ever met in U.S.
My car got flooded, water submerged the wheels completely and went inside the car. It was a disaster and I didn’t know anything about how to deal with it. I went to several car details and mechanics and they could not deal with it. I searched on Unilocal and found this place.
Ryan is vey considerate, he knows I’m paying out of pocket so tries to save my costs as much as possible, not doing extra work but makes sure my car is well taken care of. Anyways I’m happy with the deal, it at least relieves me a little bit from the pain caused by my water damaged car.

I have used Bascom Trim & Upholstery probably six times now on at least four different cars. I guess you could say I KNOW how these guys conduct their business. I can say without ANY equivocation that these guys are totally professional and know there stuff. John and his team are a pleasure to work with.
The project recently completed was a soft top replacement for my convertible, After checking it carefully, they found they could save me a ton of money by re-​canvasing the top and reusing the foam and parts. My convertible looks brand spanking new again.
I have used these guys to repair broken seats, install stereo expansion cables, repair broken window mechanisms and a tone of other stuff And they do totally back their work. I recall one time I wasn’t completely happy with the way a window replacement had gone… without even a flinch they totally fixed it up the way i wanted and its been perfect t this day. THAT is service. THAT is warranty.
I will continue to use these guys for all my various auto related fixes and enhancements and i highly recommend them
