Small little vintage/old hidden shop. Donut holes are $ 1 for a dozen. Taste great and the price cannot be beaten!

This is my go to donut spot in Santa Clara. The business is super aged and that’s one reason I really like it. Walk inside and look around at the history of the place. Look at the vintage signs on the wall. There are two old, dusty arcade cabinets. As far as the donuts go, they’re so tasty. They have a slight crispy consistency that most South Bay donut places just don’t have. The owners are friendly. They only take cash.

If you’re from the East Coast and miss Dunkin Donuts(from a few years ago when they were AWESOME), you’ll love Best Donuts. Maple and chocolate glazed are our favorites. The donuts are sweet but not too sweet; soft and oh-so yummy!!! The husband-and-wife owners are super-friendly. Whenever I need donuts for post-soccer games or a birthday at the office, I order from this local business.

My fiancée’ and I wanted a close doughnut shop for a quick bite and cup of coffee. We stopped at Best Doughnut and were pleasantly surprised. It’s small and empty, but the little lady inside greeted us with a smile and explained her specials. The selection is very basic, but if you want a simple doughnut with a cup of coffee this place will surely suite your fancy. Overall, a very enjoyable experience and a great way to start a relaxing Saturday in San Jose. 5 stars for the little lady working with what she’s got.

I don’t always give 5 stars but I really love these donuts and think someone needs to make up for all the *arses* who gave unreasonably low ratings for very ignorant reasons. Reasons I love this place: THEDONUTSAREOFFTHEHOOKGOOD! I love the dough, softness and flavor. The donuts are still soft and yummy on day 2 after I brought them home and let them sit on the counter. Close enough, I can walk to. Never too busy. Love their messy style of decorating the donuts(that is their shtick). Owner is alway friendly and smiles.(he may not speak much English, but I don’t speak any other languages either, so we are even) He is way more pleasant than some of the people who posted here on his Unilocal. This a local owned business and I prefer to patronize locals before chains when I can. Yes, they ONLYTAKECASH, but every owner-owned donut shop in the US does this, so no surprise there.

This has to be the worst donut place I’ve ever been to. The other morning I was craving donuts this place is close to home so I stopped by the man couldn’t tell me what the donuts were filled with nor the names of the he just kept saying 1 dollar he did not speak an ounce of English. The place is by far one of the dirtiest places I’ve ever been to although the donuts look like they’ve been there for weeks I got 2 for $ 2.50 worst money ever spent they tasted like nothing but grease and super stale. Next time I’ll just go to 711

Come in and ask for sin, that’s the owner. Ask him for the Ted special, large black coffee with a chocolate doughnuts, this place is great for early morning coffee and doughnuts. I come every morning, helps me get ready for the long day ahead. The owners work very hard come grab a special.

My friend recently turned me on to this donut shop, it’s a little out of the way for me, but unless you preorder the day before, Stan’s(my regular/childhood donut shop) can be a hassle, since it’s always crowded & the donuts go ridiculously fast. I have been here twice now, and so far i’ve only tried the chocolate glazed. It is too good! I already crave them every morning! The donut itself is perfectly cooked, fried to perfection. The chocolate is rich and quite delightful. The place’s interior needs WORK, the walls are stained yellow from the old times when smoking was allowed in almost every building. And the seats, stools, and counters are outdated. There are all sorts of other snacks to eat(stocked up behind the counter everywhere and in plain sight) but i’d say stick to what’s in the name«DONUTS» I will definitely be back to try more donuts, and everytime I come back I will always get a fresh chocolate glazed with whatever else I decide to try! Best Donuts isn’t the best, but it’s chocolate covered glazed ARE the best ons i’ve tasted. Better than Stans choclate glazed. I’M SOSORRYSTANS.(I willlll aaaalways loooove youuuu)

Nice atmosphere. Not new but still well maintained. Good amount of options. Does not accept credit cards. Cash only.

This place is pretty dirty and the donuts look and taste terrible. I got a chocolate buttermilk bar, ate half of it until I found a hair in the chocolate topping. Unfortunately, the two free donut holes were no consolation. Oh the taste of regret!

Oh donuts, so many holes in the wall so little time :)! This one came out of no where I tell yah! Nooks an crannies of this city still did not camouflage this little store, I spotted it and had a maple and crumb donut! Would like to drop by again some time :)!

I work around the corner from this donut shop, so it’s very convenient to grab donuts in the morning for my co workers. I walked in today for the very first time and you initially think it may be a sketchy place because its next door to a smoke shop and a bar. When you enter it is dated like other reviews say but the donuts are fresh and a great size. I got 6 donuts for $ 5.50. I don’t know if that’s cheap or expensive but I thought it was a great price for the donut size. The lady who seemed like she was the owner was very nice and pleasant. She even topped off my box with some donut holes. I like going to shops that aren’t franchised and I plan to come back.

Clearly a walk into the past. Donuts aren’t well-made toppings are thrown everywhere unevenly on the donuts, which gave it a weird looking. Not to mention donuts are so-so and below a good standard, everything is slightly more expensive than other places. Avoid it if you can, but if you are craving for a sweat treat and the so-called ’ best donut’ is on the way, try to order maple donuts. Their maple donuts are above average and actually every good tasting and good looking. Coffee is very diluted so if you are looking for a caffeine fix, this coffee might not help you function.

This is a pretty sketchy donut shop… just by the looks of it, but from what my family thinks, they have the best maple donuts. I would probably buy from them more if they took other forms of payment besides cash. I also wish they had better coffee.

As others have mentioned this is truly a mom and pop shop. The wife works the counter and the husband makes the donuts in the back. The shop is definitely dated, and donuts are so-so. Some are even a little strange. But my daughter loves the maple donuts and the donut holes, so we go in regularly. The lady behind the counter is extremely nice and always has an extra treat for my daughter when we visit, which of course makes my daughter want to go more. So not the best, but if you want to support a local mom and pop, with friendly service, and aren’t picky about the donuts, this is the place.

This shop is a walk into the past, but not sure if that is good. The donuts were«ok» nothing grreat but not horribly horrible either. One thing I noticed was that all the donuts were extremely cold, maybe they keep them in a cooling display case. The old fashion glazed was probably the worst tasting one out of the bunch, but the cake donuts were good. This place would be a last resort in picking up donuts for church but not the office, unless you wanted to get fired.

A little more expensive than most other donut shops, but it even outs considering how huge the donuts are here.

I am really not sure how or why this place is still open. It smells awful. Like old burned cooking oil. I tried a banana nut muffin since the smell of grease turned me off from wanting a donut. This was the absolute WORST muffin I’ve ever had. It had no flavor. It smelled like banana but it tasted like flour, uncooked flour. Definitely my last visit here!

This donut shop is just around the corner from me so it’s very convenient! The ambiance in the store isn’t all that, but I’m not looking to eat my donuts here so it’s not a problem. This is a family-owned business so although the donuts aren’t the best donuts in the world, I’m quite happy supporting a local business. I like their cake donuts(and normally I dislike cake donuts) and their glazed donuts.

These were definitely not the best donuts. They weren’t the worst either. But I ordered a half dozen which apparently did not warrant being laid out nicely in a box. My glazed Old Fashioned got chocolate frosting all over it and my chocolate frosted donut was nothing without it’s topping. They were edible. Not memorable. Not stale and not fresh. Plus one star for finding a half dozen donut holes thrown in for free. Written in my travelogue: Sometimes«on-the-way» isn’t worth it. Pass on this and head to Stan’s instead if you really want something good. Bleh!
