My husband had the pulled pork sandwich and he said it had no taste. It just looked so dry to me. We both had clammed chowder and it was watered down. We were there to watch the game and have a few drinks and the food was horrible. Never going back. Place has deteriorated from the last time I was there.

Our company hosts parties here a lot. Food is consistently good. Staff is competent. If you need anything special, it is a long wait to get service. L.J. in bar is a real asset. She was friendly, helpful and made a fantastic margarita. She even suggested I taste to make sure it was right for my palate. The banquet rooms are ok… most have windows which is a real perk for daytime events. Salmon is good(not wild). Steak chewy. Vegetarian pasta is white noodles with a hint of some vegies. Chicken is chicken. Desserts are good.

Nice place to come for happy hour after a long week. Situated in the heart of Santa Clara, literally right across from Levi’s Stadium, this place is a decent hidden gem to grab some drinks and a bite. It is part of the tennis club/golf club facility. Super cheap beer and well drinks($ 4 – 5) and some good apps on the happy hour menu. Their buffalo chicken wings are definitely the best! Nice crunchy outer layer/skin, with a delicious moist and meaty interior. Accompanied with the usual veggie fixin’s and ranch/blue cheese. Basic app, but these guys do it right! I hear there beef sliders are a popular choice as well! I need to go back and give these guys a shot. Very nice staff, friendly bar tender ready to be of service. Interior décor/furniture could use an update, but heck, I’m here for the cheap booze and bites. I shall be back for more!

David’s did a bang up job at our company’s recent 125 person Sales Kick-off dinner event which took place in the restaurant(they also have a large banquet hall). Earlier reviews had me worried, but I was truly impressed with the quality of the food, and flawless handling of our event, so I’m following up with a detailed review. Here is a breakdown for other event planners. Hope it’s helpful. Special diets: We were not an easy group, with many ‘special diet’ folks(peanut allergy, gluten allergy, vegetarians, no egg vegetarians, we had them all) and they went out of their way to mark ingredients and prepare appropriate dishes for these folks. Atmoshpere/set up: Nice atmosphere — loved the lights wrapped around the wooden ceiling beams, great location on the golf course, tables of ten were beautifully set with nice linens and well spaced. Fireplace added nice ambiance. The place was clean. Banquet set up in middle of room was used for both appetizers and main dinner service and worked well. Serving dishes never ran low, so quantities of food were decent, and lines for food flowed well down two sides. Service, F&B: Servers were attentive. Bartenders were skilled and friendly. Wait for a drink was not too bad, as we all arrived at once on busses. As an added bonus — the owner has a passion for fine wine, so David has top-notch wine offerings which we used for VIP guest tables, and pricing was reasonable. Apps we loved: Scallop Rumaki — ridiculously wonderful, Teriyaki Beef Skewers, Jalapeño Poppers. Cheeses on cheese/fruit display — fabulous/top notch. Entrees favorites: Red Snapper Lemon Butter — fantastic. Another favorite was the Chicken Sec. — also cooked to perfection. Desserts: Everyone LOVED the Cream Puffs and Mini Eclairs. My only«Con» was I was hoping to use the outdoor patio with heat lamps for cocktail portion of the evening(owner set up cocktail portion indoors, since he considered weather too cold) — so in hindsite, I should have arrived earlier than my busloads of folks to push to keep the cocktail hour outside, as I thought the area cleared inside for cocktail hour needed to be a bit roomier, hence 4 and not 5 stars. Everything else absolutely perfect. I will definitely be back.

I literally just had lunch at this place because I attended a conference across the street. We had a party of 12 – 14 people. It took almost 45 minutes to get someone to even take our order. Our waiter was named Kamran K. He had the worst attitude! No smile, no patience, not only was he rude to us but he was also rude to the hostess. He told her in front of everyone«stop standing behind me, go away!» That should have been the first red flag. As we were taking our order he would write down even when we were not finished and kept on walking. It was extremely rude. Then we asked for condiments and my co-worker accidentally bumped his hand because she was trying to pass the Tabasco to me. Ok, no big deal it was a complete accident. He stares at her for at least 20 seconds and then scowled at her and put the last condiment down! The food took over another 45 minutes to come out and let me tell you half were soup and salads! We finally received or food and it was completely basic. Nothing good about it. I ordered their special Kobe burger and to be honest a fast food burger would have been better. Only 1 – 3 people were satisfied with their food. Not to mention as we were finishing up we see another waiter about to serve to another table and as he picks up the plate he reaches and takes one of the fries off the plate!!! I honestly thought we were on the show ‘What would you do!‘ As we gobble down our food because we had 10 mins to eat before going back we asked if we could get 2 separate checks. As he is still walking past our table he says«oh no. I don’t do separate checks» and keeps walking! We just decide to have 1 person pay and we pay in cash. As he walks by again without stopping at our table we hand him a he card and he says«I told you… «we cut him off telling him that we know we are just trying to pay! This place was absolutely horrible. There was absolutely nothing good to say… nothing!!! Hopefully my fellow Unilocalers will read and not waste their time or money.

Ordered a steak and salad for lunch. The salad was what you might expect, yet the steak was waaaaaay over cooked. Shit happens… The sauce topped over the steak was good, so I didn’t complain and finished the plate. For $ 16, it’s a fair deal. Dry meat can be hard to swallow. I didn’t try the flower.

Patricia is the best server. So sweet and thoughtful when she catered to my ToGo order for my office. I recommend this place for the breakfast burritos, a lovely scene of the stadium, golf club with a stellar cabin banquet styled bar and restaurant.

My fiancé and I made an apt to come here and check out the venue [possible wedding location]. A very good friend of mine had gotten married here about 5 years ago, and I remember having the BEST time, so obviously I wanted to check it out again and see what prices were. The prices we not outstanding, normal-to-high for food pricing, and our coordinator had let us know that the price of food would then RISE, regardless if we were to book it a year in advance or 6 months in advance. He stated it was because the price of food is always changing. That was irritating because, obviously the price of food is always changing… what a dumb thing to say. EVERY venue, caterer, or location that sells food has a fluctuation in price from their own vendor, but when you put down a down payment for venue, you’re locking in the price that you agreed on ATTHETIMEOFTHECONTRACTSIGNATURE; they can’t just all of a sudden change the price 1 weeks before the wedding and say«oh, food went up.» The deposit is $ 1,500 for a group of 170ppl or so, which i thought wasn’t a bad market. The view [golf course] is amazing, then you have Levi Stadium right across the street… which I would feel would cause some type of time delay if 1. You’re having your wedding in the late Summer/Fall and there’s a game 2. You’re having your wedding on any weekend day and there’s some kind of event. Bottom line: Traffic sucks. Parking might suck. The venue and restaurant itself really needs a make over. It’s looking pretty old and run down. Granted its been there for 30+ years, it totally needs a makeover. The Banquet Rooms are very musky. The carpets are warping, it smells like wet carpet(maybe rain is getting in somehow?), it is just outdated. The walls and entry way and decoration is nice, I just wasn’t too thrilled about the way the room has not been updated in a bit. I am sure this place is amazing to go for a nice meal, However, for a wedding venue [with prices] I was not impressed. It does have a nice earthy-feel to it, and some people might LOVE it!

Do yourself a huge favor and eat/drink elsewhere! Terrible service, horrible housekeeping and the food is mediocre at best! Take just a few minutes and read the other reviews too.

We come here often for the convenience of location, since we work right across the street. It’s easy and affordable. So we tend to spend a lot of time and money here. The staff is awesome. They’ve all been there forever, and we have became very good friends with most of them. Hard working, honest people. First problem is the quality of food. It’s not bad, but mediocre. You don’t come here expecting a 5 star meal. But it gets the job done. Today my boyfriend and I are in before the Niners game. He ordered the breakfast burrito and asked to sub fries on the side. We got our plate right away. However, a few mins later, a separate bowl of fries(+$ 7) made its way out as well. Apparently, the owner, David, was pissed that we were given the side of fries and insisted on charging us. Anything to make a buck right David? Yes this is minor, but it’s the principle of how this business is ran. David’s continuously loses touch of industry trends, and lacks customer loyalty(and employee loyalty for that matter.) Love our servers and bartenders tho, they deserve better. JAY, Leann, Patricia and Cameron.

For your sake, read the entire review.******horrendous experience. My cousin and I went on a quest to go to a 49ers game on January 4, 2016. That quest brought us to David’s restaurant. This restaurant came recommended by one of my friends who had eaten there two or three times in years past. When we first arrived, I was astonished at the lack of attention that the service staff was providing to the room in general. We were sat down at a table for four waiting for the rest of our party. The tables were covered with a white piece of paper that was about 4′ x 4′ in size. It was quite evident that the paper had not been changed from the Previous patrons who ate before us due to the crumbs and general crumpling and bends on the paper. So far the experience was quite bad so we thought what could make the experience more enjoyable? BEER. We ordered a pitcher of blue moon and the order was filled by the busboy. I observed him pouring the beer from the tap into the pitcher and noticed that the head on the beer was approximately three or 4 inches in size but he brought it to the table anyway. When the $ 20 pitcher arrived, I immediately noticed a brown film lining the inner portion of the bottom area of the pitcher. I thought the film might be on the bottom portion on the outside of the pitcher but unfortunately it was not. It took about five minutes for a waitstaff to arrive at our table for us to complain and get a new pitcher of beer. She took away the bad pitcher and I made sure I kept an eye on what was happening in the bar with my beer. I observed the bartender grab a new pitcher and then she proceeded to astonish us with what she did next. I watched in horror as she poured the beer from the dirty pitcher into another pitcher. She did not refill our beer with clean beer. When the waitress brought the«new» pitcher to our table we immediately sent it away protesting the fact that the bartender did not refill the beer with fresh, clean and new beer. It should be noted that as the waitress brought the new beer to our table, I observed her thumb diving into the head of the beer. I watched as she took her newly moistened thumb from our beer out of the pitcher then placed it on to our table. Finally, we had a couple of beers in our system which made it more bearable being in that horrible atmosphere. We wanted a new refill of beer so we told the waitress specifically to take the clean pitcher that we just consumed the beer from and refill that. After she refilled the beer, I observed her pick up two oranges with her bare fingertips and then plopped them into the pitcher. When she brought the beer to the table we immediately plucked out the oranges that were most likely bacteria laden(allegedly) and placed them onto a dirty plate nearby. My cousin and I decided, wholeheartedly, that we were not going to consume any food coming from that nasty kitchen. We observed numerous waitstaff carry plates out to hungry patrons with their thumbs and fingers on top of the plate transferring their germs from their hands to the customers food. My brother and our friend arrived and I showed them the pictures and told then the stories regarding our experience thus far. Going against our great wisdom, they decided to partake in the«Finger food» prepared by the kitchen staff and adorned with the germs of the waitstaff. Their food took approximately 25 minutes to reach the table, and when it did my brother was underwhelmed with the size of the bowl containing his french fries. I should mention that the french fries cost $ 7. Speaking of french fries, my cousin pointed out the fact that there were numerous french fries underneath the table nearby that had been there since we arrived. Frankly, it appeared that the french fries had been there since the night before. When we first arrived, there were approximately 5 to 10 people in the entire dining room. There were almost as many waitstaff standing around not doing anything when they could’ve been cleaning up the french fries. There was a plate sitting on the table that had a bowl full of pads of butter. The plate had butter smeared on one side of it. Furthermore, there were two small plastic cups that had a brown liquidy substance in them. We surmised through logical deduction that it was maple syrup. There was maple syrup in an open container on the table prior to our arrival. They did not bring it out after we ordered any breakfast items. We did not order any breakfast items and the maple syrup remained on the table. It was now time for us to move from the restaurant to the stadium to watch the game. Approximately 30 minutes after sitting down, my friend got up to use the restroom numerous times. For the last two hours of the game he went between the restroom and the first aid station. He was ultimately wheeled out of the stadium in a wheelchair due to the horrible case of food poisoning he allegedly contracted from this restaurant. The end.

I’m only giving them two because the wine was good. We wanted to go there because of the article in the newspaper that the city has closed them down for the super bowl, homeland security and all that. I think they should be closed down for cleanliness review, the place has a smell, I’m sure the carpets haven’t been cleaned since it opened, the décor is old and tired and so are the waiters. One of our dishes looked like it too was a bit tired and had been put together perhaps the night before. Honestly Bar Rescue should come in and fix this place up if they really want to compete as a going concern near the stadium they need to clean up their act and improve their menu. I came home and went straight for the heart burn pills. Two is because of the wine and the waitress was quite attentive it was such a disappointment.

Not a bad place to enjoy a meal and watch a few football games, before you attend the game or some other event at the Levi’s Stadium. I took my boys to their very first 49ers game(49ers vs Ravens) this past Sunday and we parked in the parking lot area in the back of the stadium(Near Gate F). The game started at 1:25 and we were walking to the stating at almost noon, and came across David’s. Since I know how expensive stadium food can me, how small of a selection they tend to have, and how waist unfriendly it tends to be(for myself). I wanted to take my boys to get something to eat before we went in, that way they’d be ok during the the game, and I would be drinks during. Since it was game day, the place was packed and filled with a sea or Red and Gold… and the unfortunate Purple and Black, here and there! LOL. This place would easily double as a reception area for a wedding or carter really large parties. My youngest is like a lot of other 5 years old’s, and like what he likes, so before sitting down I asked the hostess for a menu to see if David’s was a place for the three of us, and that it was. We were promptly seated near the entrance and it’s large windows, and were right in wrong of their large flat screen TV’s. Our table was set with our napkins folded to look like little fans, and were conveniently in the colors of the Niners! Our waitress first took our orders, while we made our final decisions on what we wanted to eat and that didn’t take long. The meals were moderately priced I say, the cheapest being about $ 7 – 8 and were in the appetizers area. I ordered the chicken club, my oldest son got the quesadilla, my youngest son got the chicken tenders and I got some fries for them to split. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t out of this world either. But what do you expect when you get a basic club sandwich, and chicken tenders. They definitely hit the spot though, and it all our meals came out about $ 45 with tax. OVERALL: Nice environment, was quickly seated, we didn’t wait long to be asked about our drink and meal requests, it was lively and it the place was clean.

The location is great being right across the street from the stadium. I was here prior to the Saturday Taylor Swift concert. The food is okay. The service is also just okay — they were really swamped with a special event and all the Swifties eating there. Everything was reasonably priced as well.

Update: I called mangement and was offered a full refund, and an apology. She tried to insist that the potato salad was homemade, as she’d watched them make it that morning, but I cry foul. My gramma made potato salad for years worth of summer meals, so don’t chum me on boxed potato product. That said, I management handled my request very well. I will park here again, but bring my own snacks.

Unfortunately, this place is the most convenient place(unless you’re tailgating) to eat/drink at until the stadium opens. The drinks are fine if that’s what you’re going for, but sometimes you need some food before you get wastey. So we sat outside on the patio, literally had THE b*tchiest bartender with resting b* face. I also ordered food, and for $ 10 each, i think i got 3 strips of chicken, and maybe 6 pieces of shrimp that was disgustingly over battered and fried. Left a small tip, and just found out through my credit card statement she left herself a nice additional bonus.

An older colleague of mine set a lunch meeting here. I’d never been, but heard it was an «establishment» — meaning this was the place to go «back in the day». First off, parking. There is none. Not in the immediate parking area anyways. You’d have to walk across the street(not a main thoroughfare) to a gravel lot. Also, there’s a David’s Restaurant and a David’s Catering/Meeting Hall. Avoid the building that says Catering, you’re at the wrong building. I walked in and the space is LOVELY! Really, you could do a lot with all the windows and wonderful lighting. Problem is, they didn’t. The restaurant is rather outdated and in dire need of new chairs. It definitely felt like an old establishment. That aside, the staff was very friendly. Our waitress was kind and attentive, although a bit too honest if you ask me. She blatantly told us not to get a particular salad because it wasn’t good… Well then. Hard to be optimistic about the food when the waitress clearly isn’t. I ordered the special — Red Snapper with Mushrooms. The red snapper, was pretty darn good! I don’t have it often, but according to my husband, «It’s the pork of the sea!». Where the fish was good, the mushrooms and, frankly, everything else on the plate was a disaster. The mushrooms, overcooked. The vegetables, overcooked. The starch, non-existent. Not joking. No potatoes, rice, nothing. Went for the bread that was served prior to the meal. Glad to have experienced the good ol’ times, but I’ll pass next time around. Thanks.

This review could have been 4 stars but in all honesty there were too many mistakes that I think are the norm and not the exception. I had ordered the snapper(my wife also) and after our entire party was served, I had no snapper. I waited 5 or so minutes, and then flagged down our waiter and his response was, «we served out all the snapper and now we are out and would you like the chicken or the London broil that is already done?» I did stick to my guns and after 10 more minutes I was served. My wife was quite amused as she had just finished her dessert. All my food was delicious, but the amateurish server kind of ruined my experience. I think the waitstaff needs some more training.

David’s at Christmas — update What a difference a year makes. David’s went back to their four course holiday menu this year on Christmas, and it was excellent! They offered seven main courses to choose from. We had reservations, which is a must to be assured of a seat, as it looked like every table was taken. Fresh bread and water was brought right away as we were seated, and our drink order was taken. I chose the salad over the soup, and the herb crusted prime rib as my main course($ 31). The salad was fresh and tasty with Italian dressing. The prime rib was slow roasted with garlic and thyme, and was served with mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. I ordered it medium, and was cooked to perfection. The potatoes and vegetables were both savory. Dessert was a choice of four different pies, I picked apple, and it was yummy. Service was great; someone was always stopping by our table to check if everything was all right. If you eat out on Christmas, David’s should be on the top of your list.

Recently attended a reception after my niece got christened and this place was perfect for the dinner. It’s located across the currently building stadium and is linked with the bar with views of golfing greens. The venue was big enough for all who were attending with areas for food and entertainment. The decorations looked lovely, very pink and girly for my niece! The place did a good job of serving drinks, hors d’œuvre and food in a timely manner. The food was a bit hit or miss, I enjoyed the pasta salad and the white fish in crème sauce. They even had roast suckling pig! The only con is that they didn’t allow anybody to take food home … Hey! Don’t be cheap you might be thinking, but honestly we’re Filipino and what’s a party or gathering without tons of left overs to eat the next day amirite? /filipinorantover Besides that the venue is just lovely, we’ve been here twice already and the owner and workers here are always so nice and accommodating.
