Deedee’s has always been our favorite especially on the weekends with their regional specialties. The staff knows vegan dishes from non-vegan and lets you know when asked — A big plus for me. Wish the wait was not so bad(have waited for more than 30min on certain days) and that they had vegan desserts.

RUDEOWNER. GOODFOOD. The food was really good. When I took a plate, it had a dent and had the dishwashing liquid in it kinda thing. So I put it back and took a new plate. The owner(wearing blue shirt) was sitting that and saw me doing that and he came to me and started yelling in Hindi. Since I don’t know Hindi, I showed him the dent and he scratched it with his finger and was yelling again in Hindi. Totally a rude experience. I am paying money for food, service, restroom cleanliness, tissues etc. I don’t have to undergo your rudeness. Go to hell. Will never go here again.

Quite impressed by Wed night dinner which was Gujarati buffet. Found parking easily and went around 8 – 15 pm, so barely any crowd. In spite of being late, the food seemed fresh and most of the buffet vessels were filled with fresh food. Gobhi sabji, capsicum-potato, aloo bonda, paneer gravy, chhole, undhiyu-style sabji, shrikhand, buttermilk-kadhi, veg pulav/bisibele bhat — all were pretty good. Plus fresh chapatis and puris. 11 $ for weekday dinner, so quite a steal. Good service and decent ambience.

Weekend buffet is $ 12 and it is definitely not worth. The variety is very limited compared to other buffet places. The place is very small and it very inconvenient to move around when it is crowded.

Small place, doesn’t have good ambience. Very crowded. Shrikhand, poori are best. Chats are okay. Masala/sabudana wada bad and flavored rice was bad too. Nice buffet worth trying. Be early to avoid crowd. Less parking lots but can park across the street besides the restaurant.

Having lunch with my husband, this place is nice and the food is like home cooked, exactly what we were looking for. The lunch buffet have variety of items and all are freshly prepared. The selling point is their Shrikhand which is mindblowing, last but not least we even liked masala tea. Would recommend those who are looking for Indian thali.

This is a nice place for an Indian Vegetarian buffet with authentic Gujarati and Rajasthani dishes. Not a fancy place, seating is limited but good for small groups of 4 to 6 people. Limited number of items, does include one desert. Some days they may have pooris(the fried puffed bread) that goes well with Shrikhand(yougurt mouse like sweet), my favorite. Chapatis are fresh with lightly applied ghee, Gujarati kadhi, Undhiu(mixed vegetables), one more vegetable, daal, rice and pulao. Chapatis are served at the table. Chai and buttermilk too! Awesome meal, no pretensions but plain and simple food. Been here several times for lunch

Excellent food! The best place to get«ghar ka khana», healthy yet very tasty. They have buffet which includes pani puri, chat, fresh chappati, puri/bajra roti, rice, pulao/kitchi, lots of different curries n shrikanth. Best thing is that they vary the items every week.

Food — Delicious but little greesy. Worth the wait outside. Ambience — crampy inside and no ventilation, you feel like you are eating in the kitchen itself. I think its because there is no door between dining area and kitchen. Service — good. What can be better than fresh hot chappatis/theplas served to your table :). Price — buffet not more than $ 15…its worth it. Pure Vegeterian buffet another plus. Shrikhand(dessert) is icing on the cake :). I feel sleepy as I write this review. This is how I feel when I get out of Deedee’s after a heavy buffet :)…

I came to know about this restaurant through my roommate. Now This is one of my favorite indian restaurants. Unlike other typical indian restaurants I have been to, Rotis and Curries are so delicious and taste like home made. I could feel the freshness. Delicious shirkhand.

Visited this place with friends for a treat. This is a nice place to grab different Indian Cuisines(Gujarati, Maharashtrian, Rajasthani, Kathiawadi respectively), depending on the weekend of the month you are visiting. We visited this place in 2nd weekend of the month hence were able to enjoy the Maharashtrian food(Shrikhand, Chat, Puran poli etc.). The vegetables and curries tasted authentic. The problem we initially faced was due to lack of space for a large group(10+) of people. The staff was quite helpful in this regard were able to accommodate us together. Would recommend this place if you want to try authentic regional Indian food.

For people who don’t have an Indian family to cook homecook Indian food, Dee Dee’s is the best Indian buffet in south bay. You can taste the quality in every bite. They even have someone deliver freshly made roti to your table. Caveat: this is a pure vegetarian buffet. But that’s a good thing. They can keep quality high with low overhead of not using meat. One star is deducted because buffet prices went up over the past 3 years.

We had a 20 minutes wait but the food was worth it. The Sunday we went was Rajasthani style, food was fresh and served hot. Daal baati choorma was fantastic, though baati could have been a bit softer. Gatta karhi was mind blowing… They were serving hot puris and also chapatis were served on table. It’s a small place could probably serve around 30 — 35 people but managed well and neat. The owners were polite and considerate to keep asking if we needed anything, would love to come back again when I travel to Bay Area again.

I don’t have the option of giving reviews in negative otherwise its negative 5 star. Went to this place on a Saturday afternoon after hearing so much from friends. If you want to take my advice on going here I will say its not even worth a try. I had Rajasthani special here and everything was tasteless. Bhel was stale and all wet, dal was very bland, very bad gobhi veg, very oily puris, uncooked chapatis, tasteless pani puri and bati, omg I have never seen a bati that is as hard as stone(I can’t stop thinking where the chef here learnt inidan cooking) Paneer veggie and shrikhand was the only eatable things. After eating here I had a stomach upset that lasted for two days. What the hell !!! Is this their ayurveda for food ? Place was very bad with no cooling system we were all in sweat while eating. No cleanliness, their utensils look like the beggars utensils. I mean yes in India we use steel utensils in home also but they look pretty good not like here. Very yukky place. Never ever go. :(:(

Very homely and heavy/greasy food that will remind you of your home made food. Try to make it as early as possible as they close by 9. That way you can eat more ;) for 12 $ per person for weekend buffet, you get many dishes to try. Although many dishes are repeated over the weekend, you may miss variety if you are a regular here. You’d want to bring a lot Of appetite or plan your attack properly if you want to make the most. The weekend spread has appetizers — mostly bhel and pani puri and then the main dishes are dependent on which weekend you are there for, which is basically a dry veggie roast, a paneer gravy based dish, a dal, kadi, etc Roti and a speciality roti variant are served to your table hot and fresh from the pan. There’s rice, pulav or khichdi based on the weekend again. Dessert is usually shrikhand. No, there are no beds or dorms to take a nap after you’re done eating. It’s not your home, don’t forget. ;)
