I came into the coat dept to look for coats. I asked the sales lady at the front if she had anymore sizes. She said yes and to ask Tracy to help me. I asked Tracey if she can help me and she showed she could care less. I asked if she can help me locate a specific size and she laughed and condescendly said she can’t find a coat in this dept. I said fine so you’re not going to help me and then I walked away. Then I overhear her gossiping about me to another CUSTOMER! I sat there and listened to her talk poorly about me so I said I can hear you. She came over ready for a fight. I told her how UNPROFESSIONALANDRUDESHEWAS. She wouldn’t back down and kept on going. I told her I’m done with her and then she ran over to the lady at the register. I overheard her say I was yelling at her. I thought Wow. I had enough of this weirdo. I addressed her and said if you’re going to speak poorly about me then at least speak the truth. She was lying to cover her own self? Anyway, as I’m asking the cashier, she refused to tell me Tracys managers name. So here I am relating what transpired. Macys, Tracy is the most unprofessional employee you have. Good luck with that one!

I made an appointment with Macy’s By Appointment Only for my husband. I called the day before and arranged a time to meet with Lisa Hirsh in the early morning. We told her that we were looking for an outfit for a Management interview with Amazon. The clothes needed to be casual but nice. She brought out a few things and right away things just worked. In fact, he bought the first outfit she suggested. She was great and very patient with my husband. We loved working with Lisa Hirsh and the best news is… He got the job!

I’m travelling to London next week for a wedding, and I needed several new outfits. I met with Lisa Hirsch last night and the service was amazing. She had about 15 outfits in my size and in my color preferences lined up and ready to try on. I was pleased to see that everything she selected was very reasonably priced — absolutely nothing was«over the top». She had shoes, boots, bags and accessories ready as well. While I tried items on, she hustled back and forth with different sizes, styles, etc. Within 90 minutes, I had about 25 items in «yes» stack — jackets, scarves, slacks, sweaters, blouses, accessories, boots, slip ons… at the end of our session she rang up on my items and offered me a lend of her 20% coupon. We noticed that the coupon wasn’t active until the following day, so she held my items until this morning so we could apply the coupon.(Wow!) I went back today to pay for and pick up my items — low and behold, she’d selected a fantastic suit for me to wear to the wedding to match the hat I particularly loved. I added it to my stack of purchases. And that coupon she let me use? Saved me almost $ 300 on the purchase. Tomorrow, she’s going to pull some shoes that will go nicely with the suit and I’m swinging back by to try them on. People, Lisa is brilliant. She absolutely nailed my style. If you haven’t ever tried a personal shopper, you’ve gotta do it. The service doesn’t cost anyting — they’re comped on what they sell to you. Lisa is at Macy’s at Valle Faire — her phone number is 408−248−3333, ext. 4440.

I made an appointment with Macy’s By Appointment Only for my husband for a Valentine’s Day present. I went in first, and spoke with the gentleman that works in the Men’s Department about the look my husband is in to. I showed him some pictures of my husband, gave him my husbands measurements, told him what my husbands best colors were, and told him what sorts of things he was in need of. When Lucas went back for his appointment, Macy’s By Appointment had already put a bunch of clothes aside for Lucas to try on. This is key for him — Lucas hates walking around the store saying«will this look good, what about this». He tried on the items Macy’s By Appointment had picked out pretty quickly and actually ended up not liking any of those choices — but it gave him more confidence to have a man’s perspective for what looked good. The two of them then spent about another hour and half walking through the departments and choosing jeans, dress shirts, casual shirts, shoes, and belts. In the end Lucas was really happy with the fit, quality and even the prices of everything he picked out. He goes to work now feeling stylish and gets a lot more enjoyment out of his clothes. Also — they held the clothes for him for a few days, so he could take advantage of an upcoming sale. My only ding is that a lot of the items that were pre-put aside for Lucas weren’t quite right. If those had been knock-outs, this would be a 5 star review.

Loraine was horrible! I had made our appointment a month in advance for my bridesmaids to pick out their dresses, and she didnt pull any dresses she didnt write down my colors. She didnt know how to check on other sizes. It was one of the worst experiences! This is not worth anybody’s time! Just go to Davids bridal…

My mom and I were looking for a mother-of-the-bride oufit, and since she’s rather petite and rather picky, I thought I’d skip 3 hours of inefficient wandering and employ expert help instead. While communication with Macy’s shopping service involved leaving a message and waiting for callback, to their credit, they always called back and I easily found an appointment at a convenient time. Katie took down several details over the phone a month in advance for Monica the personal shopper, such as my mom’s size, her preferred cut of dress, color, and so on. The day of the appointment, though, we were shown just 4 outfits, all which were no-go. The first was a teal blue suit, but I’d specified no blue outfits. The second was a short, champagne cocktail dress with a plunging neckline, and I’d told them nothing low cut. The third was a purple, low-cut, off-shoulder wrap top with a black skirt, and I’d said nothing black, and again, nothing low cut. The last was a tan satin suit with grey beading all over. It met the criteria, I suppose, but it sure wasn’t a pretty thing. It would’ve been better if they’d just called us to let us know they didn’t find anything, instead of having us come to the mall and waste time trying on inappropriate clothes. They admitted, «I knew you said nothing low-cut, but there wasn’t much,» and lamely offered to accompany my mom and I to look for other things on the floor. Kind of defeats the purpose of a personal shopper, yes?

Macy’s By Appointment is a free, personal shopping service at Macy’s Valley Fair. This service may not be for everyone. But if you are like me and have little time, are somewhat clueless in the fashion department, or just need some help breaking out of the Docker’s and oxfords rut, then this service could be for you. My wife made the appointment for me as an anniversary present. Rianti is the salesperson who runs the service. Prior to the appointment Rianti asked my wife questions about my measurements, height, weight, complexion, lifestyle, and current wardrobe. When I arrived she had gathered about two dozen shirts and pants in a private dressing room with a 3 way mirror. The outfits were color coordinated so the tops could be worn with each of the pants. Everything was a nice change what I normally wear. I also told her I wanted to focus on outfits for two types of occasions. Within a few minutes she returned from the floor with several more choices. We quickly figured out which colors look good with my skin tone and which designer lines fit my body type the best. From that point on it was just a matter spending 2 hours trying on different outfits. It’s true that there wasn’t anything I couldn’t do myself given enough time. And certainly I could save money by waiting for things to go on sale, but between work and kids I have a tough time making time to go shopping, much less to the sales. I assume that the service is funded by commissions, but there is no pressure to buy anything. If you are not sure you want to buy something they will be happy to hold items for you while you decide. Overall it was a good experience for me. I learned which designers I should try next time I go shopping. I plan to make another appointment in the fall.
