Well, I used to actually like this location. I came here and received some of the worst service in all the MOD pizzas I’ve been too. Mind you I really like mod pizza and find their food to be quite good. But my experience today was far from good. First I get here and was greeted and they said«I’ll be right with you!» Great, no problem at all. Then a regular customer comes in and my server immediately stops helping me and talks to him instead. He even let the customer skip in line ahead of me. Really messed up. I understand you treat regulars well but dont prioritize then over other customers. Then while putting toppings on i tried to get a selection of meats for my pizza and they kept trying to push me onto the veggies, before I was even done. The server also kept yelling«anything else?» Between each topping. Rudely. I felt like he was trying to guilt me into less toppings. In general I didn’t leave happy. The pizza waa good but the staff need to work on their attitudes.

I knew this place was in the area, but hadn’t seen exactly where it was even though I drive by this intersection about once a week. It’s tucked into the new outbuilding area in front of the target next to the Habit burger joint. Anyway, it’s very similar to Pieology, Blaze, etc. in being a Chipotle style pizza place. It does have a few differences in that they offer a smaller crust option for kids, a double crust option, as well as a salad option. I went for the main draw of the regular size pizza. Minor differences compared to the others: Sauces: No spicy sauce, but they have pesto at the start and can add it on top of the other sauces. They do it in odd way of having a slotted spoon they put it in and then shake it over the pizza. They also will do the same after it comes out of the oven. Meats: They have a pretty wide variety of meats, including seasonal items like chicken jalapeño sausage. Cheeses: They have more selections than Pieology but not as many as Blaze. They put mozzarella on at the start, but the other cheeses are down the line after the meats. Oven: Cooking was a bit slower than Blaze and Pieology. I think it’s not quite as hot as those places. This location was nice compared to some in that its not that crowded and the parking situation is better than most similar places in this area. I would rank the pizza at Mod as being more or less equal to Pieology, putting it behind Blaze and ahead of Top This.

This place is located in a new area off El Camino. There’s lots of parking which is great, and it’s generally not super crowded. When we got there, the workers were super helpful and got our order done quickly. The cashier, James was great also! Know exactly what he’s doing and was able to cater not only to us, but to other people as well. Pizzas were cooked perfectly by him and we sat down and ate. Loved every bite of it! However, DONOT get the lactose free cheese(sorry guys, I’m lactose intolerant too, but had to bite the bullet on this one and never looked back). The lactose free cheese is super weird and doesn’t taste or melt like your traditional cheese(got it the first time I came here and was like what on earth…) glad I made the choice to switch!

My second time eating at Mod Pizza and I got to say they are pretty good. The employees are super cool. Happy to assist you on how it works if your a first timer. The best part is building your dream pizza to your taste buds. It’s fairly priced I get the mega and I always have left overs. 8 bucks and a tasty thin crust pizza you can’t beat it. My hubby loves their Mad Dog pizza. Love that we can customize without an extra fee.

Yes! I visited this one as well! May do ALL of them once… It’s the same decent concept but not as cozy kool as my Campbell one! The thin crust concept with visual to all and any ingredients you choose is really user friendly and your Pizza is there to chow in 7 minutes! Very cool but taste is Just ok and I think Pizza afficianos will get tired of it after a couple of visits!

Best Build-Your-Own pizza place. Lots of choices with sauce and topping. Price it pretty fare as we’ll. Milkshakes are good, but mostly vanilla base with a topping mixed it, very very sweet.

Being spoiled by Pizza Studio I had slightly high expectations for this build your own pie place, and was disappointed by the attitude of the server when I asked her to spread the toppings across evenly on the mini pie. At least that didn’t ruin the taste experience of eating there. The pizza was okay(slightly salty), only issue was that the onion wasn’t chopped up so it fell off easily when bitting in. Overall I would visit a different location, since the staff was quite rude and seemed very impatient when the place was completely empty.

Other reviewer was right; pizza was way too salty. Ate half threw the rest out. They use salt to compensate for the quality of the ingredients. Roughly same quality as subway; looks like it is cheaper to make than a subway foot long and they can charge $ 2.00 more. Good business model. Ordered custom white/chicken sausage/tomato/basil/roasted garlic/mozzarella medium/$ 8.27. The crust is unique. Not the same as the wood fired pizza ovens in an artisan pizza place. Very thin; about thickness of tortilla. Mechanically produced. Makes it easy to cook fast. Very innovative.

I received a message from the MOD Squad and was invited to try out MOD Pizza again. The last time I wasn’t a fan, because my pizza was soggy and undercooked. This time, the piizza came out A LOT better. The crust was fully cooked and a little crispy and the toppings did not fall off. I would probably return, because my experience was significantly better.

I live close by here so it’s my go to place when I crave pizza l. The prices are great except I believe they increased their prices. Usually I like to get a salad and put whatever I want on there and my fiancé gets the different kind of premade pizzas they had on the menu. One time the romaine salad was browning so the salad didn’t taste that great. Last night we ordered a Lucy sunshine it was very very good. It had white cheese with dollops of red sauce chicken, artichokes and garlic. Although it was really good, I didn’t really like how it was so drippy from the oils or what not lol.

Love this place. I know that«make your own pizza» places are all the rage currently, and I haven’t tried a lot of them yet, but I am really impressed with Mod Pizza. They use fresh, good quality ingredients and don’t skimp on the portions that they give you. If I want more of something, I just ask and have never been denied. I’m actually at the Cupertino Mod Pizza(which just opened) as I write this review and try to sober up before driving home(the IPA on tap was a bit higher in ABV than expected). I like that they give you suggestions on which combos to order or build off of because it can seem overwhelming on your first visit. I also like that they have salad options(and even accompanying croutons!) for those who are doing the low carb thing. I like the thin crust a lot because it’s just thick enough to get a nice crispness without being too doughy. But for those people who miss their deep dish and dough, you can get a double portion of dough for a few more dollars. It seems a bit unfair to them in terms of profit margins to charge the same for a plain cheese or pepperoni pizza as my creation(red sauce, mozzarella, pesto sauce, spinach, arugula, basil, tomatoes, crushed garlic, chicken, mild Italian sausage, mushrooms, more mozzarella on top, and all topped off with a drizzle of ranch and pesto after the oven), but I think that it ultimately evens out because this is a place that families can go with picky eaters(plain cheese anyone?) and also satisfy the parents’ more adventurous tastes as well. I’ve also seen groups of teens and families and couples on dates order multiple pizza to share, which seems like a really good idea. I’ve been to this location twice now, and while each time was not without its hiccups, they always made it right in the end with minimum fuss and muss. The seating is a bit tough as they don’t have much of it(communal table space and counter seating), but the turnover is pretty quick. A lot of people seem to come for takeout. I like that they have the mini mod and regular mod sized take out boxes ready to go for any patron because I have to admit, I have never finished my entire pie haha. The leftovers heat up pretty well. Of course, the crust isn’t crispy anymore, but it doesn’t fall apart either, which I appreciate. I will definitely be back; it’s a quick and economical lunch. I mean, how many places offer lunch for less than $ 10 these days?!

Wish I could give it a 3.5 So I went to MOD for the first time yesterday and I didn’t really know what to expect when I walked in but I was really excited to find that they had small pizzas that you could customize. I am lactose intolerant but I love pizza and it is a struggle to find pizza places that have vegan cheese, and even when they do or when they are willing to make it without cheese, its not very cost efficient unless you order a huge pizza and then your stuck eating left over pizza all week. Because of this I am a huge fan of Pieology and I was so happy to find a much closer place with the same concept. The Pros: –They have vegan cheese –They have two different personal size pizzas –Price is amazing! you can add whatever you want and the price stays the same –Thin crust –The overall taste of the pizza was pretty good The Cons: –I felt the service was a bit lacking, some people were just standing there while others were doing a million things. I orders a soda in a glass bottle and was not offered to have it opened(this wasn’t a huge deal, but it was a detail I noticed) Overall the place was ok, it satisfied my pizza craving but on this first visit it did not convert me unfortunately.

First time at MOD. A great first experience! I’ve been to Pieology multiple times, so I’m familiar with create-your-own pizzas. MOD and Pieology are pretty similar except for a few different ingredient choices. We came on a Saturday night, but I was surprised it wasn’t that busy. We were the only customers for a good while. The workers here are VERY friendly and made our trip that much more memorable! I would definitely come here again! It’s been open for a little over a month now. Give this place a chance. It’s worth the trip!

There’s been a recent proliferation of these«make your own» pizza establishments. There’s Pizza Studio, Pieology, Blaze, MOD Pizza, and Fresh Pixx which is owned by Round Table. Some, like MOD Pizza, also have the option to make your own salads atop a pizza crust! So far, we’ve only tried Pizza Studio and MOD. Pizza Studio was a letdown so I was a bit leery about here. But, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and taste! This locale had been open a month so it was crowded. The noise level was a bit too high due to the lack of any acoustic tile/ceiling. The size of the pie was just right; most of us only finished ¾ of them. Everything tasted fresh and the amount of toppings provided was just right. My mission will be to try the others and to find my personal favorite!

If I could marry pizza, it would be a pizza from MOD. In the words of Buddy the Elf«I’m in love and I don’t care who knows it!» I could eat here every week. It’s so cool how you can put as many topping as you want on your pizza. Whether it’s one topping or 10, it’s the same price. The pizza is ah-mazing and baked hot n fresh in no time flat. The only thing I don’t like is the seating. It’s one long table. I’m not comfortable sitting thisclose to a stranger, bumping elbows, fighting for elbow room like the arms of a movie theater seat, while trying to enjoy my piece of heaven.(Unless it’s Shemar Moore then I have no problem!) Seriously, you HAVE to try them. You’ll fall in love too. But get your own pizza. I’m greedy and won’t share mine.

MOD *bleeping* PIZZA!!! Tried MOD for the first time the other day and it’s officially my favorite pizza place! The way it’s set up it’s exactly like chipotle/subway. The first step is the size of the pizza(or salad) then toppings, last is the payment. Ordered a mini and it was very satisfying! Unless you have a big appetite or want to share with someone, get the bigger sizes. Be prepared for the line because it could literally go out the door but it’s worth the wait. I LOVE thin crust pizza so this place is so perfect for me and I can’t wait to come back real real soon!

Id been to the San Jose locale before and thought it was pretty good. In needing a quick meal with an old co worker, we met up here. Mad Dog plus bacon and olives = awesome. Lots of cured meats made the pizza fairly hearty. I think it could have used just another minute of cook time so the crust could hold together over time. Otherwise a good representative in the fast casual make your own pizza category

Welcome to Santa Clara: home of the SF49ers, and now Mod Pizza’s newest location. On the grand opening day last Thursday, the proceeds from all pizzas were going towards the non-profit Bill Wilson Center. Eating great pizza to help support programs for at-risk youth? Win-win! The wife and I each went with the Mod option($ 7.87 for an 11″ pizza) and chose to customize our pizzas rather than going with some of the pre-set choices. Crust options were regular and gluten-free; unlike at Pieology, whole wheat was not an option. There was a good selection of meat options including chicken, ground meatballs, salami, bacon and Canadian bacon. The wife and I being garlic lovers, we were happy to find whole garlic cloves and minced garlic as toppings. Other available toppings included pineapple, red peppers, tomato slices, diced tomatoes, mushrooms and olives. After 10 minutes, our pizzas were nice and hot out of the oven. The crust was perfectly toasted, and the amount of cheese was reasonable enough to hold all the toppings together. Customizable, delicious pizza at a reasonable price, plus friendly service, make this place a winner!
