One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever ate at. Me and my fiancé will be here next time for the lunch buffet.

This restaurant is amazing. It is clean to begin with. Literally nothing out of order, not weird dark dingy corners and it smelt amazing. The customer service is fast and on point, and when the food is served it is on point, looks amazing and tastes even. Enter. Comming back here for sure

The lunch buffet was pretty good and it was only $ 10.99 which I think is a great deal. This included Chai tea and all condiments. I would come back again if I was in the area.

Drove me to write my first Unilocal review! The LADY at the reception is VERYRUDE. Twice been there and’d ended up listening to rude words from her. I like Peacock but due to HER I prefer going to other restaurants like Anjappar, Paradise Biryani etc as they are courteous and of-course have better food! Also she charges extra for mint chutney for starters! And if asked for onions, she gives a rude face. Lol never came across this in any other Indian restaurant.

I was really surprised to see this place got only 3 stars because the food was great! Had a buffet lunch with a large variety of indian food. Have been in india quite a lot and the tastes just bring you back there. Definetly coming back.

Overpriced. There are lot more better buffets in Bay Area than this. Most of the food items have more food-color than the flavor. Everything tastes bland. Nothing looks fresh. Expect for the aapam’s, I have nothing good to tell at this place.

Tried Peacock for lunch buffet on a Saturday. Overall most of the food was OK but it likely won’t be a place I would visit again as I think there are better restaurants in the area. Service was quite slow and repeat request for napkins were ignored /forgotten. The best dishes were the veggie curries(Okra) but the selection was quite limited for a buffet

On April 10th we have visited this restaurant on April 10th. Every one liked the food there. Non-veg is good, apart from that sambar, dal and other items are nice.

Never ever going back. I picked up 1 order of samosa. I requested more chutney since 1 order includes 3 piece of samosa. And they were so reluctant to give it… and finally they wanted to charge for it — just ridiculous. On top of it, samosa was soo oily and feel like it was stale — ended up having food poisoning. Peacock India is the restaurant equivalent of the short bus. It’s not bad in the ironic sense but bad in the«how are they still in business» type of bad. I have been here twice and there will never be a third time. The food is mediocre on a good day but on average it taste stale as if it’s leftover from the day before. Service is just ridiculous slow as it takes them time to get you the most basic things. Also they must obviously be bribing the health inspectors because there are flies everywhere. Finally don’t bother with take out, no matter who you order from and how much, it will always be late. My friend ordered through Door Dash twice and it was 30min late both times. Like I said before, it’s the restaurant equivalent of the short bus.

My wife and I are cooking-challenged so we eat-out or get take-out every weekend. We know good service/food from bad and I usually only write a review if we really like the service/food. Hence, we really like Peacock Indian Restaurant at the corner of El Camino and Kiely/Bowers. We love Indian food, it’s spicy, reasonably healthy(not too much fat or sugar), and you usually get a lot of food for your dollar. Our favorite is Tandoori Chicken with an order of garlic naan bread. We have eaten this many times at many restaurants. It’s funny, but if you always order the same thing over and over at different restaurants, you get a pretty good comparison of restaurants. We have been ordering take-out from the Peacock Indian Restaurant for about three years. Peacock Tandoori Chicken is good … very good! It seems more spicy then the same dish at other restaurants. Quantity of food is very good. The service we receive is also very good. We really like mint chutney and we always ask for it. At many Indian restaurants, they look at us like we are crazy or confused for ordering it with Tandoori Chicken, but at Peacock, they understand our strange tastes and even remember to add it without our asking. We recommend this restaurant. Kevin.

Oh yes, I am a huge fan of this restaurant — just make sure you are going to Peacock in SANTACLARA! Not quite sure why the rating is just 3, maybe I choose the right dishes… **CHICKENCHETTINADU! **BUTTERCHICKEN! **SHRIMPCURRY!

Of all the Indian restaurants in SanJose Santa Clara area. this one has a decent interior and evey good food options… My friends love their Biryani. so they took us here for a lunch buffet… We went in and were promptly seated… the lunch buffet had a ton of options. even for vegetarians… they had pakoras.idlis.vadas…bondas…biryani.2veg entrees. one methi poriyal which was DELICIOUS… rotis. couple of daals and several other options… for desserts they had warm delicious gulab jamun… kheer and since it was Christmas day they had a very light delicious cake… Though the reviews aren’t good the buffet seems to be very good… at least the time we visited… I would definitely give this place a try Plenty of food. freshly made and refilled and delicious…

The restaurant was very clean. Service was slow. Quality of their staple item, the chicken biryani has gone done. The chicken 65 appetizer was oily and spicy, but still not tasty?

Serious Quality issues! I traveled 20 minutes to get here and got Chola Batora, paneer, veg biryani, garilic naans. 35 $ approx. When I got home after 20 min drive back to San Jose. To our dismay the Batora was literally like papad crumbled on touch. I called the restaurant and complained about it, they said money can be adjusted next time and they’ll make a note of it. What’s the point? Time and money wasted!

*This review is only for the Sunday Lunch Buffet* We went here recently for the lunch buffet. It gets pretty crowded. We had to wait for about 20 minutes for a table(for a party of 6). The place definitely needs to be remodeled, The interiors looked quite shabby and very cluttered. I had to be extremely careful not to step on someone while walking around with the lunch plate. Coming to the food, the buffet did have a variety of dishes. Appetizers: –Tandoori chicken was great. –Onion pakoras and Punugalu tasted good. –Baby corn manchurian was sour Entrees: –Coconut rice paired with Chicken curry was good. –Chicken dum biriyani was very dry –Chicken noodles was ok –Butter Chicken was another dish that I liked. It went well with the complimentary naans they provided. There is an Appam station, where you can get freshly made appams. But the appam was tasting sour(This usually happens when the appam batter is fermented way too much. Trust me, I can make better appams). The mango ice cream tasted more like mango sorbet. Kheer was good. They need more waiters considering the crowd. We had to flag down our waiter every time we needed something. Overall, not worth the money!
