We visited Santa Fe on a southwest road trip. Braved the elk meat for the first time and the meat lines up with the better beef steaks I’ve tasted. Quite surprised how good it was. Wife enjoyed her shrimp dish. The service and atmosphere was superior. Overall would highly recommend if in Santa Fe.

My husband & I visited Santa Fe, & decided to have our anniversary dinner here– it was THE best! Everything from their service to the food was top notch! We were graciously greeted & congratulated upon our arrival. They brought us champagne to toast the occasion & tuna tartar on the house– which was amazingly fresh & delicious. We had their elk stake(ordered it rare) — it was our first time trying it, & it was DELICIOUS! We also had the lobster tail w/angel pasta– DELICIOUS! And to make our experience even better, we had the best waitress– Ari! She was so attentive & sweet! She was honest about her opinions in their plates, and was so warm! I know it sounds crazy to use the word delicious again– but Ari brought us their trio of cream brulee– DELICIOUS! Geronimo is a must if you’re in Santa Fe!

My husband and I ate here for our 5 year anniversary. Of all the incredible restaurants we’ve eaten at Geronimos has been our best and most delicious experience to say the least! They have a warm and elegant atmosphere that was perfect for such a special occasion. The food was out of this world good(we had the elk and rack of lamb), and the service was top notch! I highly, highly recommend Geronimos and look forward to going back again!

My husband and I had dinner here in June 2016. We ordered the elk tenderloin and Kurobuta pork Wellington as our main courses, crab cakes and pear salad as starters, and an orange creamcicle cake for dessert. Everything was exceptional and every bite was absolutely delicious. Service was professional and friendly and the atmosphere was elegant but not stifling. It was one of the best meals we have had in a long time, mostly because everything was perfect and there were no shortcomings at all. The restaurant pays attention to every detail, and it showed. It was a perfect evening.

Probably one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Everything was fantastic, the food, the service, the atmosphere. We wished we could have ordered one of everything on the menu.

5STARS!!! This place was great. My boyfriend and I sat on the patio, which you should always do when in Santa Fe. They are famous for their elk steak. It was perfectly cooked medium rare. I had the wasabi sea bass paired with ramen and lobster bisque. We both had the house made crab cakes for an appetizer. I highly recommend. They’re big and not the tiny ones.

Best dinner out in Santa Fe, one of the best ever! First class, excellent service, delicious food and drink. It was like truly great sex. I’ll remember it and pine for it and compare all that come after to it. Roasted cauliflower bisque, elk tenderloin, orange creamsicle cake. Let them recommend wine and digestifs. Don’t miss it!

my friends and i came to santa fe to celebrate a monumental bday, so we had to have a nice dinner to commemorate the event. the restaurant is really nice and is way bigger than it looks from the outside. 6 of us shared a bottle of wine, which the server nicely suggested. the wine list was very reasonably priced, and she helped us pick a nice white to go w/our meal. we shared a ton of stuff, and again, our server was really good at describing each dish in great detail. we shared the mushroom bisque, crab cakes, and ahi tartare to start. the kitchen also sent us some cauliflower bisque for us to try. all of it was delicious, particularly the ahi. for entrees, we got one of each special. we got the sea bass, elk(their signature), halibut special of the day, prawns, and lobster. everything was delicious, and the portions were huge. my fave was the prawns w/sambal and jasmine rice cakes. we ordered so much food that we had leftovers to-go. for dessert, we got a chocolate cake to share, and the server also brought us an orange tres leches cake, which was awesome. all in all, a great experience. i would definitely come back if i ever came to santa fe again.

This was my second visit over 10 years to Sante Fe and we had come back to Geronimo. It was an exceptional evening. You must get a reservation and it will be worth it. Located in the arts district on Canyon Road this is a one of a kind restaurant for this area. There are no views outside, but the interior is elegantly decorated and it’s a perfect ambiance for a special event. I’m lucky to have a friend who will explore restaurants with me and we share most dishes so we can experience more dishes and wonderful flavors. For this evening we started with the Organic Cauliflower Bisque and the Fujisaki Asian Pear Salad. Both were immensely enjoyable with wonderful smells and flavors. We knew we would want to share a dessert, so we skipped the Appetizers and ordered the Mesquite Grilled Scottish Salmon and the Center Cut Beef Tenderloin. Both were served as ordered and cooked to perfection. Dessert should never be skipped at a restaurant typically, but we had the most amazing Crème Brûlée at another restaurant the night before and we decided to order some on our way home and just picked it up before heading to our hotel — yep it was that good!

The boyfriend and I came here for a birthday dinner. The food was excellent and the ambiance was very intimate. We were walked through several rooms into a small area in the back and seated at a round corner booth. Our server was nice, albeit a little quirky. But we came across a lot of quirkiness while in Santa Fe so we figured it was the norm. It looks like they may tweak their menu daily because it had the date at the top of the menu and there were a few items that weren’t on their online menu(I like to casually peruse every food option on my own time before visiting a new restaurant). They came around with a couple different bread options, we chose the sourdough slice and green chili roll. We started with the lobster bisque(not listed online). It was thick and creamy, had a strong lobster flavor, and was great sopped up with the sourdough bread. For entrees, we opted for the elk tenderloin(amazing, especially with the garlic mashed potatoes) and the smoked chicken(also not on the online menu, but tasted like it was prepared in a smoker… or cooked with liquid smoke). They were good sized portions so between that and the bread(ah, the bread), we were too full for dessert. We were very pleased and would definitely go back.

We arrived early for our reservation. Immediately the hostess greeted us with an unstudied«Happy Anniversary!» I gushed. They brought us to our cozy table hidden in a nook behind the curtain. Perched right against our own fire in the corner. I beamed rainbows and sunshine. We looked up and our waiter is congratulating us again. And hands us two sparkling glasses of champagne to toast the evening. Super romantic. Super classy. Totally top notch place. The rest of the meal was just as magical. We enjoyed soup appetizers which came out in serving carafes. They are poured tableside into your bowl which comes pre-plated containing a sculpture of nuts in the center. It’s like the soup service is an art all by itself. The sea bass signature dish was terrific. So soft and flaky. And you can taste how fresh the noodles are. His elk tenderloin was hands down amazing. So fresh and so juicy. We devoured as much as we could, but the portions were huge and hearty. No micro-size dishes here; everything on the menu is absolutely a good value for your dollar. The wine was incredible, the service was polished and superior on all counts and the whole evening was just plain dazzling. High five for my Man! He knocked this one out of the park. Let’s hear it for the boy :)

We went here on New Year’s Day. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in years! We entered and it was pretty busy. Our table wasn’t ready yet, so we went to the bar(which was packed) and started with a glass of Gruet(sparkling wine from New Mexico). Shortly afterward we were seated. We started with the wagyu beef carpaccio. It was fresh and delicious – and had capers, which is always a plus! We then moved on to entrees. I got the green miso sea bass and Chris had the elk tenderloin. I’ve lived in Tokyo and know what miso can do when given the chance… and apparently the chef here does, too. My fish was perfectly cooked and perched on top of a bed of ramen noodles that were soaking in a miso-based broth that was so unexpectedly delicious I could hardly believe it. The menu mentioned truffle essence, which is easy to over do, but everything was balanced perfectly and it was an absolute joy to eat this dish. It was AMAZING. Chris had the elk tenderloin. His was also cooked just as he ordered. It was savory and deep – ended up being his favorite meal in Santa Fe. We finished with the flourless gmGerman chocolate cake. Chris wasn’t huge on it(and he does love his chocolate), but I thought it was delicious. So mixed reviews on this but I still recommend it :) Service was good. He seemed very comfortable and a bit high brow but not snooty. The lady bussing and serving water was really fun and nice to chat with, too.

After reading the reviews online, I was so excited about dining at Geronimo. Highs: Ambiance Lows: Food I ordered the vegetarian prix fixe option without the wine pairing. In retrospect, alcohol may have made this dining experience more pleasant. Course 1: Wedge salad. Ok, so a wedge is just that, a wedge of lettuce. While I wasn’t expecting a piece of art, I wasn’t expecting the gloppy mess presented. The highlight of the wedge were the dried mushrooms which added a crunchy texture and unique flavor. Unfortunately, the wedge was drenched in blue cheese dressing and overly sweetened with candied pecans. But I kept up hope that the«best» was right around the corner… Course 2: Butternut squash soup with crostini(?) mushrooms and shallots. The butternut purée was lovely but I could have done without the texture produced by the shallots and mushrooms. This course was ok. Nothing special. Course 3: The main course was an utter DISASTER. I don’t even know what this dish was supposed to be. Callelloni? I’m not sure. It was essentially a crispy pasta like tube filled with what was perhaps the most flavorless, soggy, mushy combination of ingredients I’ve ever tasted. I wish I could say what was in that shell but the flavors were indistinguishable. The shell itself was as hard as uncooked manicotti and looked and tasted as if it had been burnt. Perhaps the thought was that the harness of the shell would balance out the soggy inside? It took all the strength and social grace I had to swallow the(only) bite I put in my mouth. The waiter seemed disinterested in why my dish had been untouched(or perhaps, he was used to this response). Honestly, it’s hard to believe that anyone with taste buds would have put this dish on the menu. Course 4: Dessert crêpe with lemon curd. This was perhaps the best course of the night which is sad because it wasn’t amazing — the bar was just low.

There are numerous accolades placed on Geronimo as one of the finest restaurants in the Southwest and I have to admit it lives up to its reputation. While the dining isn’t cheap, it is fine. And if your adventure takes you down Canyon Road, make sure to head to Geronimo. There aren’t a lot of dining options on Canyon Road. I think I can count on one hand. Having been disappointed in Compound on a previous visit, I decided to try the other fine dining establishment — Geronimo. On bitterly cold December night, I entered the door and was warmly greeted by the staff who promptly took our coats and placed us at the table by the fireplace in front of the entrance. I was of two minds about being placed by the front door — it was wonderful people watching, but mildly uncomfortable to have throngs of patrons stand next to or pass by our table. It wasn’t a big deal for us, but if you seek a more intimate setting, ask for one of the other tables. The interior is classy with overlapping ranges of cream, beige, and natural wood. There are four dining areas, but the interior feels intimate. When we went, it seems the local elite were well represented with a few out of town yokels like us mixed in. The menu was a feast for the eyes. There are so many options. We opted to start with the Cauliflower purée soup, which was amazing. Creamy, smooth, delicate. We employed our three types of house bread to sop up the last dregs of the soup. One of the best such soups I’ve tried. The other starter was an endive salad that was equally delectable. We were impressed already. For our mains, we ordered the Elk Tenderloin, which was perhaps one of the top three I’ve ever sampled. The meat was tender, flavorful, and expertly cooked. It tasted more like a filet mignon than it did elk. The seabass with miso is an excellent contrast if you’re seeking a lighter(in flavor), yet hearty dish. The seabass was well prepared. If you finished the seabass first, you could almost eat the remaining miso soup and noodles like a miso ramen. For dessert, we had the lemongrass ice cream with orange cake, which was very good as well. Service was professional and non-intrusive. We felt well taken care of by the entire staff. Geronimo is the best fine dining option in Santa Fe(perhaps all of NM). We started off our trip eating at Geronimo and we ended up comparing most of our meals to our experience at Geronimo, which was humbling. If possible, save Geronimo for last.

Quick look rating: 5⁄5 Food & Quality, 5⁄5 Service, 5⁄5 Experience To order: Wasabi Caesar Salad, Elk tenderloin (Drink: ask to what they might suggest to pair it with a good red that they might have on hand at the time that you’re there.) I’m going to make this simple for you. You can read all the other reviews later, but here are the top points to note! If asked where you would like to sit: Most times inside near the bar area. If the weather is fantastic with no bugs, then outside.(It’s really hard to mess this up — most all places inside are still great, so no worries.) Service is top notch! Great team work with the staff! Book mark Geronimo’s when in Santa Fe or on your way, it’s a must! Fun, great atmosphere, service on target, and the food will make your toes curl, it’s just that good! It is pricy, but worth it! Would I come back, yes I would!

Simply put, Geronimo’s is one of the finest restaurant experiences we have enjoyed in a number of years. To set the stage, this was our 20th anniversary, and I insisted we step it up to the finest restaurant in Santa Fe. Reservations were made noting that this was our 20th anniversary and requested a special table if they could accommodate us. Upon arrival during a hard rain, we were escorted to a cozy table by the fireplace in the far corner of the room. As soon as we were seated, our waiter approached us with two glasses of champagne and his wishes for a Happy Anniversary. After that, we ordered a bottle of Flowers Pinot Noir(which was fairly priced considering the restaurant). When the wine arrived, our waiter was also careful to bring the correct Pinot Noir glasses. For appetizers, we ordered the Wygu Beef Carpaccio and the Ahi Tuna Tartare, both of which were wonderful, tasty, and delightfully presented with interesting accompaniments. For our main courses, I had the Elk tenderloin with potatoes; my wife ordered the prawns sautéed in Siracha sauce. The elk was melt-in-your-mouth good, cooked a perfect medium rare. The prawns were also cooked to perfection, tender and very spicy. During the course of the meal, we became engaged in a conservation with the couple at the next table — sort of like eating at a sushi bar. They were very friendly and we chatted, on and off, throughout our meal. They were so nice, after they left, our waiter came by and asked for our dessert order — they had bought us two desserts of our choice for our anniversary. We were so pleasantly surprised and ordered a pear tart and the Meyer lemon crêpe. Now, to further compliment those desserts, we each had a glass of Tyler Fladgate 20 year Tawny port. Even when we were leaving, the people at a couple of the other tables nearby congratulated us on our anniversary. What a great evening and a great restaurant! You can’t do much better than this.

Great place, great food, and nice server!!! My husband and I went together for dinner. We had the Hawaii bla tuna sashimi, elk for my husband, sea bass for myself, lemongrass ice cream with cake, and pear Rosemary sorbet with tart for desserts!!! We loved what we ordered!!! Just my husband was a little bit unsatisfied with the elk dish… It’s kind of frightened him, cuz we feel a little bit bad for eating it… The tuna was fresh, it served tuna sashimi, and also a chopped tuna stuff. We like both!!! They provided you Wasabi, soy sauce, another kind of dark and sweet sauce, and an orange sauce. The orange sauce is a little bit spicy, and it’s very tasty!!! And the dish also included several mini pancakes!!! Great taste!!! The mushroom in the elk dish was pretty good, although eating the elk made a little bit strange, but a little bit like steak. Yes, I mistakenly thought it was steak when the table beside us got this one… But the meat was softer and tenderer than steak! The sea bass was fried pretty great, I like the taste, fried and also marinated with a little bit sauce! They put ramen underneath the sea bass, interesting combination! Tasty! Just the ramen is a little bit overcooked, too soft.(I am a Chinese, so believe me I know how the great ramen should be tasted like, even it’s Japanese style!!)But I still love it, and they had bok cho in the ramen soup, so love green, so got some points for the dish! Two desserts!!! They were very great!!! The cake and the tart were both not the very sweet type, which I love!!! And they paired with sorbet or ice cream. It was definitely a great combination!!! The ice cream can help reduce the sweet feelings of the desserts.

The entrées were great. As were the appetizer and the dessert. I had the Pork Wellington which was great and unique. I am used to Beef Wellington and have been in the mood for it for quite some time and it certainly doesn’t help that it may be very arduous to find from time to time especially in a smaller town. So, it was to my surprise that they offer an alternative to my preferred usual Pork Wellington which I may say you won’t be disappointed. I was also surprised when I had the Elk Tenderloin that they offer which was great. I asked the waiter of course as to whether or not the Elk may have been gamy tasting and they confirmed no. They even went so far as to offer if we felt as though it was they would offer something else on the menu of our choosing. So I took the gamble that panned out quite well. Especially for my wife who would’ve been much more sensitive to the game like taste than myself. The dessert was a Peach Tart with Pistachio Ice Cream on top of a pistachio brittle on a raspberry sauce. It was excellent. Individually they are just okay. However, how it is meant to be eaten is all together. All in one bite; only then will you get the true explosion of flavor, texture and the excellent complementation of all. I can highly recommend the restaurant. They may be pricy. But like most places; you get what you pay for.

Dining at Geronimo will surely be a memorable experience. The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely, you will be happy no matter where you sit. We thoroughly enjoying sitting outside on a cool summer night. Our server was attentive and made our experience even more notable. Ultimately though we are all here for the food, the wonderful wonderful food. Our dinner order consisted of: Wasabi Caesar Salad Organic Cauliflower Bisque Hawaiian Ahi Tuni Sashimi and Tartare Telicherry Rubbed Elk Tenderloin Seared Maine Diver Scallops I would be remiss if I did not urge you to copy this order(as long as you’re hungry enough to tackle it) Each and every item was delicious. The one stand out dish was surprisingly the Wasabi Caesar, I believe it was the best salad I’ve ever had. Highly recommend this restaurant, I can’t wait to return next time I’m in Santa Fe!

Hands down best service we have received in santa fe ! Last time I had a server this good I was in New Orleans(before Katrina). From replacing the silverware to serving on the right to deferring to our host, I haven’t seen this kinda service in awhile. Our server was comfortable, knowledgeable about wine, and very thoughtful. The hostess was welcoming and cheerful. The backwater was generous with bread and unobtrusive. Perfect team! The table ordered a first course and I did not because the entrees seemed huge– they brought me an amuse bouche anyway so it wouldn’t be awkward, that’s the extra special attention to detail I’m talking about . We had two bottles of wine, prices were kinda steep but they had a nice selection and of course we expect that somewhat anyway. Ambiance was great, it’s many small rooms of a house — the only thing that was kinda creepy was all of the very large animal horns mounted on the walls– Entrees– elk, lobster tail, steaks, scallops, many fish dishes– most entrees were $ 30 — $ 40 — they had interesting veg mushroom flight for $ 60 — not any other veg choices but enough sides and apps to make a decent veg meal anyway. There is definitely some talent in the kitchen and more food to explore here. We will be back — between the great service and the food I can see us bringing some other friends here too. Plan on spending $ 100/head or more, but it’s money well spent.
