I can’t believe the bad reviews others have left — Lowe’s supermarket absolutely RULES! They carry a unique selection of products you won’t find at the other chain supermarkets, including a large selection of New Mexican chiles in dried and powdered forms(i’m sure they also carry fresh chiles when they are in season). It’s definitely the best selection of chiles I’ve found in a supermarket so far. The shopping is also much easier than the other big supermarkets, because aside from the employees, the store is pretty much vacant. This means you don’t have to fight your way through crowds of overfilled carts with 5 kids hanging off of them. Finally, BLASTING throughout the store is killer 1970’s funk and disco music. This is great because it turns an otherwise dull shopping trip into an absolute party. I’m not even kidding, it feels like a club and I half expect to turn a corner and see people snorting white powder LOL.

Oh God. I remember when this place opened, forever ago. We went here the other day for Chorizo. Not just any Chorizo, special«the in-laws can only find it here and WILL only buy it here» kind of meat. It was my first venture into Lowes and let me tell you — it was a THRILLRIDE. Okay, Smith’s and Albertsons are pretty ghetto. I go there because they have nearly every generic brand at affordable prices. That’s just fine by me, because 1. I don’t have the income to shop at Wholefoods and 2. I hate 99.99% of the people that shop there. Does that mean I hate 99.99% of Santa Fe? Anyways. Lowes was outstanding. Everything was cheap, labeled in Spanish, and new to me. What I noticed in abundance: Animal parts(half-lamb head, 5lb. pkgs of tripe, hooves, etc.); GIANT loaves of bologna; that neon radioactive Tampico juice; dollar-store toys(«Big City Chrome Police Play Handcuffs with Safety Release! $ 1.99!!»); Pinatas; cheese; real jerky. Absolutely the best jerky. I had a blast and I’m definitely going back here for meats… maybe an experimental lamb head recipe.
