This is one of those shops that puts me in a trance: Every item curated by a skilled eye, and arranged just-so to make a little stroll around the aisles a full sensory indulgence. God knows I couldn’t afford to shop here often, but there is a range of prices between the little trinkets and postcards, up through some gorgeous wooden blocks and children’s stuffs, to the more big-ticket shoe and wallet selections. I have found the customer service to vary wildly depending on the clerk the few times I’ve drifted through, but the nice ones are so lovely it overrides the others – for the most part. Yet I am perplexed by the struggle I’ve had this week just trying to get in the store. The closing hour on their Facebook page and here on Unilocal is listed as 6:00 p.m.(there are no hours on their website). I arrived on Tuesday thinking I’d have lots of time to spare and found the shop closed up tight. There was a placard in the window identifying the winter closing time as 5:00 p.m. It’s tricky for me to make it in earlier with my schedule, but the next day I made a mad dash and arrived within about 12 minutes of closing. No problem, I thought, I make a fast decision. I was eager to see the items on clearance in advance of spring, but found the downstairs section blocked off with a stool. I asked the clerk by the cash register about this, and she said only, «Yes, we’re closing soon, so …» I asked what time the downstairs closed and she pretty much repeated with equal obscurity, «Well, we’re closing soon, so …» I explained I had made a concerted effort to make it in, and it would be helpful to know exactly when the downstairs closed so I could plan accordingly in the future. She then recommended arriving«definitely before 4:30.» Furthermore, when I asked about the specific coat I was interested in she said, «Yes, that’s on clearance.» And then we just stood there awkwardly, without her offering to retrieve it for me from the section of the store they had preemptively blocked off. So be warned, fellow Unilocalers: If you want to know the hours call ahead, because they cannot be bothered to keep even their own Facebook page current. And if you want to access that gorgeous bottom segment of the store, for now arrive«definitely before 4:30,» and good luck.

The ladies who seem to run the show there come off as distrusting, scowly, and really a bit rude. Each time I have been in there– it is the same treatment, today was of course no different. Disappointing. I would shop there, spend money there, if the service were friendly and sincere… but it is not.

Gorgeous merchandise. I even bought something(couldn’t resist this precious dress for my daughter) But let me tell you I would have spent a heck of a lot more if the two women running the shop would have put a smile on their face or offered a nice word. In contrast to the unbelievably friendly people I met all over Santa Fe, this shopping experience was disappointing.

I bought a skirt, two pair of silver hoops, and a cap on July 6. Cute store, cute items, but I felt like the owner/sales assistant didn’t trust my 11year old daughter and me. Perhaps it was just her personality, but I felt like she was following us around the store in an unfriendly manner. Even at checkout, I felt like the two ladies were looking down their noses at me. I am short, so it’s possible they truly were looking down on me, ha ha. I spent $ 113 in this store and I just came across my receipt where I noticed that I was charged the same price for both pair of earrings. However, one pair were smaller than the others and were tagged $ 1.25 less than the larger pair. I was charged the higher price for both. It was probably an oversight, but I started thinking about being overcharged and how unfriendly the staff were and I was prompted to write a review. Wish I could give a higher rating.

This store reminded me of the local jewelry stores in Scottsdale. They offer a wide-variety of all things New Mexico and it’s a perfect shop to get some touristy gifts for you or your loved ones. I left with a bracelet and some other fun finds. The pricing was pretty reasonable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Whether you need jewelry, NM food products or touristy finds, this is a good spot to visit.

Very, very cute store and I am glad that I stepped in for a second look. And they are too, as I left with quite a bit of stuff. I purchased some funky pants, a sun dress that were on sale and a little present for my friend, who just recently got married. I was really impressed with wide range of unique little gifts this store offers and the prices are pretty reasonable considering your right near the plaza of santa fe and everything seems pretty costly. I was also impressed with the jewelry.. . it was really gorgeous. I was VERY tempted to buy a necklace that was made by a local artist, but it was over $ 100 dollars, a bit out of my reach(not to mention I already had a basket filled with items) but it was quite particular and maybe they will have it when I come back … maybe. maybe? AND maybe it will even be on SALE! ok now I am stretching it … @Jill W. –I loved their day of the dead stuff too !!

This is my wife’s favorite store in Santa Fe, maybe anywhere. Lots of good funky clothes and accessories. Guys, you can’t go wrong buying a gift here.

Good selection of women’s clothing, jewelry, small gifts(cards etc.), small home furnishings, art, etc. in a Santa Fe /modern hippie style. The prices are *very reasonable* for Santa Fe. A lot of stuff around the Plaza is way overpriced. Their jewelry selection in particular has a lot of stuff <$ 100 range. I almost always pick up something here.

I love Maya’s eclectic mix of jewelry and folk art. I am guaranteed to spend money the second I step through the door. It is a great shop to find an unusual gift, in my opinion the best kind.

Two words: In. Love. Ok, so I was in Santa Fe for 3 days and I ended up at Maya 5 times. I love the funky style this store exudes. Everything from eco-friendly household items to Day of the Dead artwork to funky messenger bags to unique local designer clothing with an edgy twist.
