Beautiful facility, friendly staff! They are great with kids and extremely professional. There is not another optometrist in town I would take my family to.

I’ve gone to Dr. Botwin since he was located at the Villa Linda mall — back when his office was very simple. Since then, his office has gone far more upscale, yet his prices are still reasonable. I’ve gotten consistently good prescriptions over the years, and has worked with me over my concerns about not wanting to resort to reading glasses — yet. The same goes for his son, Jonathon. They are forthright and direct and won’t waste your time: I’m always in and out in well under an hour.

I forewent what I thought would be a less expensive eye exam at Costco simply because I needed a contact lens prescription asap. The office was beautiful, clean and appealing. The office staff, despite being a bit discombobulated because the internet was down, was cordial and helpful, but most of all, my tech and Dr. Josh(or Jacob — I have a hard time remembering his name) were great. They took plenty of time and took care of my 54 year old eyes, fitting me with mono vision contacts that feel good. And I get to wear them for a couple of weeks to see what works. Best of all? The cost for this astigmatic contact wearer was only $ 238! Less than Costco’s exams, and much nicer. I have nothing but praise for these guys. I’ll write another review after my follow up.

I wish I could say I was super impressed with this place. It’s beautiful inside. When I arrived I was very politely greeted. I was then taken back by a very nice employee, who was sweet but seemed«programmed.» When the optometrist came in, I thought he was another tech. I found him well educated and nice but his tone of voice could be a bit condescending. When it came to finding glasses, I did not enjoy this part at all. I had not used my. plan yet so I was unsure what was and wasn’t covered as far as what was on the wall. I had read through the plan previously, but someone usually gives you a quick summary and helps you find glasses. The girl pointed to the wall, showed me what I could have(all were«featured» and high priced) and pretty much walked away. In 2 minutes, came back to ask if I found a pair of frames yet. I felt kind of rushed and that I was a burden. This is usually my favorite part of the visit but it just wasn’t enjoyable. She acted the same way when I returned to pick them up. Maybe I don’t look like the normal customers… I’m a new mom, looking a bit rough on occasion but I felt a little judged by the second crew I dealt with for frames.

Great experience all the way through. Denise was my tech and did the initial exam. I asked not to be dilated and that wasn’t a problem. This place has all of the latest equipment and because optometry/opthamology is so technologically driven this is important. Then Dr. Jeremy Botwin did my exam and refraction(the«better or worse» part of creating a new prescription) and that went quickly and easily. Finally, Ashleigh was extremely patient and kind when helping me select the right pair of glasses and Sara was very helpful in getting them to fit my face. The sales process overall was quick and painless. I recommend this place to get your Rx even if you just want some inexpensive glasses via Warby-Parker or an equivalent, though I definitely recommend getting your glasses here as well. While the glasses I got are the most expensive ones I’ve ever had, they are also the best by far and IMO totally worth it.

Had a great first time visit today. Requested 2 different types of contacts(daily &2 week) and the doctor had no problem giving me test contacts and a script for both. He made sure to tell me that the follow up exam is included and advised not to buy boxes until I know if I like the trail pairs. The office looked great and iPads were in use through out. I will be back for my follow up and in a year! Not sure why the other reviewers gave low ratings for bad scripts on contacts as they give you test pairs. If you can not see then do not buy boxes of them and go back for the included follow up.

After trying a few different optometrists around Santa Fe this by far is the best! They have an amazing selection of frames, great looking office, & a very knowledgable staff. Sarah helped me to find just the right pair & fitment is perfect. Thanks Sarah!

I had the same experience as Timmy T. Jeremy tested my eyes, and wrote a prescription for contact lenses and glasses. I had the contacts filled at Sam’s Club(best prices Ihave found and quick service). When the contacts came in, I could not see. I went back to have them checked and Jeremy acknowledged he had no idea why he gave me that prescription. Not even an apology or an offer to replace the $ 125. worth of contacts I was out. They do sell them, so he would not have been out a whole lot to at least make it right by me. He gave me a quick retest, wrote an entirely different prescription which I again took to Sam’s Club to fill. The gal in Sam’s Optical was dumbfounded at all of this. I don’t know the other brothers, but Jeremy is an egotistical, pompous, incompetent dumb ___. Go there at your own risk. I would highly recommend Santa Fe Eye Associates instead. The only reason I went to Botwin at all is that they are close to my home. Next time I will simply drive further and get it done right.

Botwin has the best eyeglass selection in Santa Fe… actually, the best I’ve seen anywhere. Everything from Cartier and Chanel to Face to Face. Lindberg and on and on. Dr. Jonathan Botwin is very professional and his staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The equipment utilized for eye exams is definitely high-end and up-to-date. Staff can help find the best style and color for you, based on the shape of your face and coloring. They are opening a second facility downtown, which is good for folks working there. Right now, the practice is on St. Michael’s across from the hospital. The waiting room is nicely furnished in leather and there is a large, flat screen television for those who wish to watch. Restrooms are clean and simple. I would have given this very attractive practice 5 stars, but the wait is just too long. Rather than filling out paperwork each time, use an iPad for patients to initiate or upgrade records.

Everyone was very helpful. Most people I know recommended them. They seem to serve the northern NM region. I’ve worn glasses all my life and I decided to change to contacts recently. Their equipment was very high tech and the exam was very thorough. I’ll be back.

I am a physician and frankly critical of my colleagues as they are of me and my practice in Texas. I have a home also in Santa Fe, NM. I chose The Botwin Eye Group for their expertise over Texas Eye Physician Groups! I needed cataract surgery and they consulted the #1 Eye Surgeon in the USA for me to have this operation in Santa Fe. It was smooth as silk. My practice motto is «SEEK» = Service Excellence with Exceptional Kindness — above your expectations. From the receptionists to the nursing staff to Dr’s Botwin(Mark, Jonathan, Jeremy to the Optic’s Section of Ray, Martha and Sarah — you will not find a more fine group of dedicated and expert people than at Botwin Eye. Accolades to All!

These people are egomaniacal morons. I had all my glasses checked that I got from them. Not only did they get my focal center wrong, they got my script way wrong. Do not waste your time or money with these idiots. I had an optometrist in Oklahoma check my glasses while i was traveling and he actually laughed out loud and said, «I can’t believe these people do this for a living!». Wow

After finding this place online, I dropped in on a busy Saturday morning to see if I could find some frames I liked. My prescription was from my ophthalmologist, thus I am not a patient of Dr. Botwin. Nonetheless Martha was gracious and took me in turn, apologizing to me for the wait. I really didn’t mind because it gave me time to find the frame I really wanted. My glasses are perfect.

I have been wearing contact lenses and glasses since the third grade. I don’t know so much about the eyeball, but I have been around the block with a few different optometrists, as I worked my way through college and grad school in different cities. I have been very pleased with Dr. Jonathon Botwin. He is passionate about his profession. He genuinely wants to improve his patient’s lives, via acute vision. Through a few minor adjustments here or there, he has delivered comfortable and very acceptable prescriptions lenses and contacts. I know that I am hard to please. Because I am hard to please, I let him know that. With that, I realize that my expectations might require a bit more work than average. I read a review by Timmy T. Personally, I disagree with his post. I have told the eye doctor nearly the same thing, «I don’t want to change my prescription unless necessary.» The problem with this is that I don’t know crap about vision. The eye doctor has to offer you the best. And, I, the patient, only have an opinion. Just because I think that I know something, doesn’t mean it is true. Secondarily, when the patient’s opinion has to be addressed, we no longer have an exact science. Maybe Timmy T did think that he knew exactly what HE wanted. It doesn’t mean that Dr. Botwin was incorrect. Frankly, it probably means«Timmy T» is a pain in the ass. So, if you want a trained professional, Botwin is the place to go. If you want average care and bottom of the barrel services and prices, he isn’t the place to go. My eyes are important to me…

This office is incredible! Very friendly, professional, knowledgable, and beautiful! I had a great experience with everyone I interacted with. Not sure what Jay M. experienced but it couldn’t have been the same office. I dealt with Dr. Mark and Dr. Jeremy and found them to be really interested in my case, thorough, and informative. State of the art office! I would highly recommend them!

I love Botwin Eye Group! I recently ordered a pair of glasses for my partner as an anniversary gift. They were so nice to work with and He absolutely adores his new glasses. He was so surprised. Thank you Martha and all the great staff at Botwin Eye Group.

Visiting from out of town — tore a contact lens and needed a new prescription. These folks were just awesome from the first point of contact — Holly in the Contacts department was helpful and sweet, the nicest of all the places i called. Their walk in policy is great, and it took only 20 minutes to begin the comprehensive process. Everyone was efficient, polite and friendly, and Dr Mark is warm and to the point. I loved the fact that he was generous and understanding, easy to talk with and gave me a copy of my test results. New contacts are super! There were lots of people there — they have complete optical service, and I saw young folks being outfitted with contacts, older folks getting new bifocals, hipsters getting new shades. Everyone seemed happy and the staff there kept things moving a whole lot more efficiently than any place I’ve ever been in California.

Dr. Botwin scores 20⁄20 in my book. This is the most professional office ever. Dr. Botwin has not been afraid to evolve and his new office is high-tech(as well as very attractive and well-decorated) while remaining super streamlined and efficient. I have complete confidence in him and his staff. In addition to knowing what they’re doing, everyone is very friendly. Totally worth the trip from LA to have an appointment here. I’ll be back for another round of air puffs, and, in the meantime, I’m eating lots of carrots as I fully intend to identify that tiny line of jumbled letters next time around.
