It truly is a museum. Dakota was very friendly & helpful & was eager to show us around. Ira, the owner was fantastic and fair with our price considering the quality and condition of the chair we purchased. This is a must stop even of you’re not buying.

We were disappointed both with the lack of help and also with the outrageous prices. We(husband and I) are cosmopolitan and not new to the salvage game but were truly shocked by the opening price(we assume they were the opening prices although they showed absolutely no interest in negotiating so maybe they really thought it was fixed?) they gave us on a few pieces(none of which were in good-enough shape to use«as is» — clearly these were pieces which would have to be completely rethought). My husband, who is a champion haggler, just walked away, saying in the car it would have been a waste of his time. Maybe. I don’t know. This place is HUGE and tons of fun to go through, though not accessible. Because so much of the wood is left out of doors, unprotected, you’d think(erroneously) that it would have been in their interest to work with us vice let it sit exposed. Oh well! Fun to look at, and will purchase goodies elsewhere.

This is an interesting place. Filled with seriously authentic doors, tables, rugs and other such things from China, India, the middle east, and on into Turkey — all along the silk road. Tons of really cool decorating ideas. And it’s HUGE! It keeps on going, indoors and outdoors, for what seems like ever. When you think you have seen it all, try going upstairs or downstairs and there is yet more. If I were a decorator, I could go nuts. The one drawback is that, if you want this level of history and authenticity, you’re gonna pay for it. You can drop real money here.

not the friendliest experience ive had, i walked in there to see what kind of stuff they had and a gentleman working there came up to me and said«My boss would like you to leave the store.» He gave me no reason why.

This place is like a museum. It’s amazing to browse the vast yard full of decorative wooden beams and doors from places like Goa and Rajasthan. And then the interior has fascinating stuff from all of South and East Asia. It just goes on and on and on.

Very helpful staff. They rolled out half a dozen rugs for fickle olé me until I found the right carpet. This place is fantastic and transports you to another land. Great Place to find gorgeous rugs, middle eastern art, textiles, etc. Go there when in Santa Fe!

If you find me in a bathtub full of ice with a really happy look on my face it means I’ve sold an organ to afford some sort of dilapidated piece of door from this store. Holy crap they had expensive stuff, and I covet almost all of it.

Best antiques store ever!!! Gorgeous architectural antiques from Asia which can be made into whatever you desire. I personally have a gorgeous table made out of a wall relief. I’m also a huge fan of their couches which they make out of oriental rugs. They also make amazing cocktail and end tables out of ceremonial drums. It’s pricey, but definitely worth the price… also great to just look around.
