This is one of the best salad bars around. There are lots of fresh items to choose from to make a great salad. They have a hot bar with food on it including pizza. While the hot food is nice it is not the best tasting. The soups are wonderful and there are a number to choose from.

Doesn’t compare to Sweet Tomato or Soup Plantation. This is a small business that we happen to notice while exploring Santa Fe. The food is fresh and reasonably priced. They do have 10% seniors discount. I did miss some chicken soup though. For proteins I added the taco meat to the vegetable beef soup. Not bad if I say so myself.

Comvenient, healthy, and reasonably priced. Easy, quick for take-out too. Love this place

Well the plus side is that it is a buffet. It is certainly not a sweet tomato we can say that much. It isn’t the worst thing in the world, but nowhere close to the best.

I stopped in this place hoping for a healthy, Souplantion-type meal. As soon as I walked in I started to wonder what I’d gotten myself into, given the odd smell and the sparse, washed-out décor reminiscent of a nursing home recreation room. I headed to the men’s room to tidy up beforehand, but it was in worse condition than most gas station restrooms I’ve seen(and again with the god-awful smell). I promptly bolted this sad excuse for a restaurant. There was simply no way I was ever going to eat there.

Drove 6 miles in off the highway(headed to Nebraska from PHX). Really wanted some chicken soup… all review sites say the place is open till 21:007x week. Its 19:30 on a Sunday and they’re CLOSED. We went across the parking lot to «Asian Restaurant»…well, some things are meant to be. Very happy we landed over here…

I was out doing errands today and I stopped by this restaurant to get a quick to go lunch. I was given my carryout containers and, I was told that my diet coke would be ready in a moment. I got my salad. looked a little stale. Then I chose a soup. Next, I wanted to get dessert and, a maybe a little mac and cheese. I couldn’t get any of the latter two items because they will not allow you an additional container for your dessert. What are you supposed to do, put your pudding in your salad container? I asked for another one and they said it would be another $ 4. What! I wasn’t over consuming or taking extra for a second person. I didn’t even fill up my soup container, the selection didn’t look that great. Then I looked around for my drink(had to search), maybe a bag(I was happy they didn’t want to charge me extra for it). Why do they have cashier get the drinks for the customers? I now she doesn’t wash her hands everytime she handles those cups and lids. Gross! I’m never going there again.

The first rule of SouperSalad is: go to Sweet Tomato in Albuquerque instead. But, if you don’t have the time, or you want to save money, but feel you would like to trade off quality, taste, and calories, this might be the place for you. Starting off, I’ve been here twice. Both times were a hassle at the counter. The first time, the manager wanted to become my best buddy by talking sports to me, something I have little to no interest in. My first comment that the subject is nothing for me he just brushed off and kept talking while an ever so confused cashier tried to take our order in the midst of all the questions about the coach for this particular sports team. The second time around, the ever so confused cashier got a phone call that he got so involved in that he neglected to ask how many we were and if we wanted any drinks. He completely ignored my wife while keeping answering confused questions about opening hours to the guy on the phone. This aside, the staff is friendly, the serving staff that is. The food then? The food looks like it has been laying out all day. The salad is brown, and the tomatoes taste weird. Also, beware of falling into the trap of the pastas, deserts, pizzas, baked potatoes, or even some of the soups as all of that is very high in calories. It is not easy to avoid considering it makes out about 75% of all the food available to you. For $ 7.50 you might think this is a deal. But it is a deal where you get no taste and a big calorie count if you don’t just stick to the spinach(the non-brown kind) at the beginning of the buffet. PS. If you want some butter for your baked potato, beware that it is served in a bucket with a shovel-like spoon to apply it with. If you go here, good luck with your calorie count.

The food quality and price is average. But the service was non-existent. I came for an early dinner & was the only customer the server had. But she was outside talking on her cellphone, and never once refilled my empty drink or take away the pile of plates. I hope all the servers aren’t this bad, but I won’t be coming back.

It’s not Fresh Choice(does that chain even exist anymore?) but it’s quick and cheap. At lunchtime the salad items are fresh-looking at the restaurant is clean. THey have a good selection of healthy salad fixings and surely some other stuff too like potatoes and pizza but I didn’t eat that. I do agree with another rater who said that the staff is not the most attentive in the universe. It took a long time for me to get my soda. Also, there was a homeless guy in the restaurant with giant shoes made out of duct tape, and a vest that was also held together with duct tape. I was quite astounded that they brought him a glass of water and he didn’t get asked to buy something or leave.

Being from California, the home of Soup Plantation, I’m always up for a good soup and salad dinner. We came in shortly after 8pm and the place was practically empty. After paying for our meals, we started down the salad assembly line. Much of the food looked as though it was sitting there all day without any refreshing, refrigeration or ice. Moving away from the produce line, we moved over to the Taco, Bread and Soup area. Again, the food looked tired, picked over and pretty much inedible. Two of the soup the containers looked as though they’d sat long enough for the moisture to evaporate. Moving to our tables, we waited and waited and waited for someone to come take our drink orders. The process of waiting for someone to serve you drinks in a self-serve restaurant seems archaic in this day and age to me. The funny thing about the drinks was that the The manager glanced at us and walked out the door to talk to some friends. Finally, a young lady came and got our drinks for us. Turns out she was the most helpful of the bunch. She even came back and got us refills. A few of us decided to cap off the evening with a bowl of frozen yogurt. Just like Soup Plantation, you help yourself. The difference with SS is that the area, including the floor, around the frozen yogurt machine, looked as though a bomb had gone off. I realize it was late in the day and the place was within an hour of closing time. However, if the staff, sans the young lady that helped with the drinks, doesn’t really care about the appearance of the food or the restaurant, why not close earlier? Long story, short, I’d try somewhere else first next time.

Three stars for a $ 6 lunch that’s healthy and diverse, and a super nice woman working at the front checkout. I stopped in here today after shipping a package to get a to-go salad and check this place out. It was right in the middle of the lunch rush, so many of the items were out(being refilled at the time) . Less one star: the Ranch was thin and looked watered-down– yeck– by the time I got home my greens were getting soggy Less one star: where’s the garbanzo beans? and the baked potatoes? This is an okay place but not what I’d hoped it would be. Ingredients were fresh but sparse. I might be back but will look around for other salad places.
