I will go back, owners very nice. The Hungarian mushroom soup does not hold up compared to BSB. Too spicy or a strange spice. Next time I will try something different.

I agree with Edward H. on this one. This was a huge disappointment. The customer service was nothing special, serving sizes were small, the food was bland, and the prices were outrageously expensive. It is clear that the menu hasn’t been planned out or tested. There is no creativity and no spice. Edward mention the lack of salt. I agree that the recipes could use a bit more salt, but more importantly other spices! There is more to food than salt and pepper! Other spices can be healthy and offer medicinal qualities too! I would also say from a new business stand point that SUP needs to think about promoting itself better. Your prices should always start LOW to build a client base. They should practically be giving food away in the beginning rather than cutting corners to make everything cheaper. You need to invest to get back. You can always raise prices slowly as your business becomes more grounded. I wouldn’t go back here. I would only considering returning if they have a promotional deal. Otherwise I’m not interested and I do not recommend this place. They have a lot to learn about starting a new restaurant. I would start by addressing the underdeveloped menu and then throwi a big promotional event with free food.

I finally went to Sup for lunch after having wanted to for quite some time. I was very pleased with this place, the employees were unbelievably friendly, especially the man who I imagine is the owner. You can try samples of different soups before choosing which one you want which is so great! The bread for the sandwiches is fresh and made there, not bought from some other place and it is soooo good. They use as many local ingredients as possible and it’s just very tasty. definitely is real food fast!

This small establishment was not impressive for lunch. Our chicken salad sandwiches were delicious! The apple and celery were fresh and crunchy. The bread was soft and fresh. Service is rather routinized and followed an industrial assembly line model. My soup was watery and lacked body. My partner’s soup was laden with curry and served sloppily. In fact, it was spilled down the side of the bowl. The service lacked enthusiasm, the atmosphere was cold. I don’t think I’ll come back.

I think SUP opened in February this year. I tried it the 1st week they opened. The soup was good and there was a lot of it. I tried their brownie and I have to say without any hesitation that is was one of the best brownies I’ve ever eaten ever. I went back in the summer time and they changed their menu. The soup portions got smaller, but the sandwiches were bigger. They have this sandwich called the Sod Buster that is really good. The soup was good like it was the first time, but the seller for me was the sandwich. They make their own bread I think and it’s obvious because it’s way good. I recommend this place. The service is good. I ordered on-line and when I got there the food was waiting. I loved it!

I had the San Diego Clam Chowder and thought it was well-seasoned, filling, and nicely thick, even though it was gluten-free. They could improve on making the food match what is on the menu and website. They have extensive ingredient and nutritional information on their website and on-site menu, but the chowder had lots of potatoes and moderately spicy green chili, neither of which are listed. They also post detailed daily menus, but the single salad of the day, Cobb salad, wasn’t available(Greek salad was). The restaurant sort-of caters to people who are picky about what they eat(no gluten or low salt or no meat or…) and so the info on the website and menu should actually match the food.

Yet another reality check that restaurants in Santa Fe are not what they claim to be. I also don’t understand these reviews when our experience was horrible. We ordered soup and full sandwiches which are $ 11.75. The reviews that state soup and sandwich are the half orders, so let’s clarify that. The sandwiches are about 60% the size of a normal piece of bread and about slices are about an inch thick. The actual filling with meat is just about a ¼ inch thick. I think that is a rip off. Our sandwiches were not made to order because they were out of ingredients, but they never told us. We read the menu and asked them about where the missing ingredients were. We tried the carrot and New England clam chowder. Bland without seasoning and the carrot soup was a thick gravy mess. the chowder was runny, not creamy and had peppers in it. It is not traditional. Both needed more than just salt and pepper. The staff informed us they have a older senior crowd so they are light on the spices and seasoning. Light? Meaning — there are none. Everything was a disappointment and we sent the food back and ended up eating a cobb salad which was pretty good. The tables are wobby and the seats are a combination of short bar stools and not very comfortable. The only positive thing I can say is they recycle. Would I go back? No. If you are charging $ 12 for soup/salad, have a sandwich that isn’t all bread with one tiny slice of meat and have soups that taste good. Again, another disappointment in this city where the assumption is all the restaurants are good. We then asked for the balance back from a $ 24 meal down to $ 8.95. We were told we had to wait until the Chef came back. After a 20 minute wait and we had other appointments, we had to bug them until they finally gave us our money back. We only went there because of the positive reviews here, but that leads me to believe that these people either don’t know good food, or the place did a chef change and we hit the bland cooking.

The curried garbanzo and cauliflower soup… Not so good. We arrived at the end of the day and the soup was at the end of its life. Seems it was sitting on the burner to long. Salt… way to much salt. «salt is the policeman of taste» but it is not designed to be the whole taste. Nothing organic so I have no idea as to how much herbicide I took in. My wrap was mostly lettuce and some unknown sauce. It was soggy. Seems the wraps are wrapped the day before… So they are soggy. Will I go back? Maybe if I’m in the mood for some herbicide with that side of salt. If I didn’t care what about the chemicals in my food I would give SuP three stars. Clean. Good idea but poor quality ingredients. They could be stunning.

A tasty, healthy and filling fast lunch under $ 9. Conveniently located across from Trader Jose’s. That is, if you’re able to pull into the parking lot without being run over by that crazy intersection trafico. Being concerned with my salt intake, I was very happy to see they’ve marked all their options for various dietary concerns. I tried the Tuscan bean soup which was very good with a full broth, but not too salty. The generous slice of wheat bread was tops. The clean, sterile style reminds me a lot of the take-out joints I saw in London. Not really great for a first romantic date or anything, but very convenient for a fast lunch. I’d eat there again.

I’m not going to go into the details of how to order from Sup(Pronounced Soup, please don’t try to be smart and s*up. You will sound like an idiot) because a previous review by Tamaki I. nailed it. I will say however I really enjoy the format of this establishment, the box meals are terrific and everything is recyclable/compostable. My only complaint is that the soups are always more soupy than stewy, even the dishes that are traditional stews. However, this consistency is admirable and though I often wish my green chile stew or posale stew was thicker, it’s still very delicious. Hungry for something new in Santa Fe? Check these guys out. Oh! And the staff is really friendly.

My new favorite eatery! I was thrilled to find this place because I have finally weaned my children & myself off of all fast food after a process of a few years, and it is no easy feat to remain true to this commitment with small children. Whether we are on the south side, where all the restaurants basically serve fast food masquerading as something else or in the overpriced, unaffordable downtown Santa Fe area, we have gone hungry more than once just to get home to cook real food. No more Burger King & their ilk means happier children, more energy, and more recently, absolutely pristine lipid panel results & weight loss for me! My children now say that they«hate» fast food & that it makes them sick. Now, on to the review: this place is clean(including the immaculate bathroom), welcoming, friendly, easy-to-order, and BEST of all: the mostly organic food is delicious! The kids’ plates are varied and cost about the same as a kid’s meal elsewhere(about $ 6 – 7), and the adults’ meals are extremely fresh and filling. I have a large appetite(I am an athlete), and on my recent visit, a house salad &HALF sandwich(The Vespa — it’s actually a wrap) totally filled me up! What I love about the salads is that they are filled with the truly nutrient-dense greens like spinach & arugula, not just romaine and definitely NOT what I think is pseudo-lettuce: iceberg. My girls loved the Clam Chowder and Chicken Pot Pie soups, and I have loved every soup I’ve had, with Tuscan White Bean being my favorite. The chocolate chip cookies are HUGE, rich, moist, delicious. .. we all agreed — they were the best ones our family has ever tasted. You can eat really, really well here for $ 10 a person, and you can order an entire healthy meal — for a family of 6 — with desserts for everyone — for $ 54. The food is go nutrient-rich and delicious that your money will go further because you won’t be raving hungry for the next few hours raiding the convenience stores looking for a fix like you would with any other type of food made elsewhere that spikes your insulin levels & renders you liketo that of a rabid animal(insert national chain eatery here). Every time I go to places throughout Denver and Fort Collins, CO, when I return to Santa Fe, I lament the glaring & inexcusable lack of recycle bins throughout our gorgeous city that is supposedly environmentally conscious. Well, Sup has them! They serve you on completely recyclable cute trays, soup bowls, & food boxes(cleverly designed to allow you to go four wheeling through the arroyos and still not spill a drop of soup in them). And there are matching recycle bins inside the restaurant to drop them in on your way out. An added convenience: the cashier uses the new iPad technology, so you don’t have to swipe or enter your debit card, just sign with the nifty cushion pen, and you’re on your way. Organic, delicious, HEALTHY food options at an affordable price, in a very convenient location on the corner of St. Francis & Cordova Rd within a clean, inviting, quiet space that satisfies even the children’s palates. .. OMG I am just in LOVE with Sup. We are regulars now!

I recently came to Santa Fe for a quick weekend getaway with our family. We always visit Trader Joe’s when we’re there – it’s a favorite outing for us. But on this visit, we noticed a new restaurant across the street called Sup. We weren’t sure what it Sup served, so we went inside… and once we were inside it didn’t matter what kind of food they served – the overall smell that wafted across us as we entered its doors made us want to eat anything they served! Soon enough, we figured out the menu, which appears on a big-screen TV that’s festooned on the wall(kind of cool and cutting-edge compared to a paper menu). So much to choose from – so many amazing choices! My husband and I are both foodies so we both ordered Big Boxes. I had the Tuscan White Bean Soup with Greens because I am all about dark, leafy greens these days. The soup was chock full of white beans and it was thick and filling and very flavorful. I practically licked the bowl clean! I also had the Sodbuster – a vegetarian sandwich filled with lots of fresh veggies, sprouts and a basil pesto on a super soft whole wheat bread. I’m not a vegetarian but this sandwich was filling, flavorful and it made me forget about eating meat! My husband had a big bowl of Hungarian Mushroom… it was really thick and creamy and so mushroomy – it was one of the best soups we’ve ever had(of course I made him share it with me). We’re always on the lookout for great mushroom soup and this was really the best one we’ve ever had. And the soup didn’t separate(a lot of times there will be a layer of butter floating on top of the mushroom soup – my mom says that happens when the person who made the soup doesn’t know what they’re doing!). He also had a chicken salad sandwich on a garlic knot. He loves his Mom’s chicken salad, but he admitted to me that Sup’s chicken salad was actually better than hers! I have no idea why that chicken salad was so amazing – maybe the cilantro? The garlic knot was super garlicy with the right amount of butter, and it was so soft and moist. My husband loves to bake, and he knows how hard it is to get bread to come out that moist – so hat’s off to the baker! Can you tell I’m in love with Sup??? As a new mother, I cannot stress how important it is to have a great menu for kids – not just hamburgers or chicken fingers(made of questionable chicken parts). The day we visited Sup, our little one had the choice between the Pizza Soup(which is made with mozzarella that they make right there at Sup, creamy tomatoes and basil AND moist foccacia bread sticks for dipping) AND a super-creamy Mac-n-Cheese Soup – how great is that? Being the foodies that we are, we ordered TWO kids meals – one of each, and we all shared. The price is right on all these meals, too – our big meals with soup, salad, bread and dessert were just $ 9.95 each, and our kiddie meals were $ 5.95 each! I am so jealous that the residents of Santa Fe get this great little neighborhood eatery all to themselves. I want one in my town! Trish S.

Worst food I ever ate in Santa Fe and maybe anywhere. The so-called green chile soup was actually mainly flavored with celery, not chile. The second one I tried was called shrimp– and I did find 2 small fragments if it– but one I wasn’t sure. And it was over-seasoned with cumin. Slop! Swill! Seemed like it was fresh, but so what? First they told me they had no more gluten free bread, but then they dug up a loaf– but the slice was dry and crumbly. The salad was okay. I sure didn’t appreciate eating out of plastic take-out containers, either.

I’m pretty thrilled to have Sup as a new dining option. $ 10 bucks got me a half a sandwich, large soup and a side salad. When I saw the food on its tray it didn’t look very filling. I couldn’t have been more wrong. It left quite full and that’s saying a lot considering that i’m 6’5, 220lb. My clam chowder was very good, hummus sandwich was super tasty as was my salad. I’m not sure if Sup has some sort of commitment to natural/organic ingredients, but my food sure looked and tasted that way. Inexpensive, filling, tasty. Need I say more?

I can’t understand the negative review unless it was written by a fearful competitor. I have had 4 of their soups so far and each was really excellent. The clam chowders were loaded with clams and very tasty, not at all bland. The chicken pasole had lots of white chicken meat and spiced perfectly. The salads had fresh greens, goat cheese, cherry tomatoes, and sunflower seeds. I really don’t know how they put out such a high quality meal for $ 7.95. Oh yes, also a slab of home baked bread and butter. The chef, Anthony was formerly of the Russian Tea Room in NY and Donald Trump’s private chef early in his career. His wife is the dessert chef and they are fabulous. What a fabulous addition to the Santa Fe restaurant scene.

SUP = GUD! Quite good, actually. Delicious soups, very convenient, and easy on the wallet. My sandwich(turkey) wasn’t spectacular, I would prefer a little more flavor(couldn’t taste the chipotle mayo listed on the menu), but the ingredients were all fresh and good so I won’t ding them for that. Will be back!

Real food. Fast.(in Santa Fe, NM) Sup definitely falls under«one of a kind» in the Fe… nothing else really can compete! Alright, you ready for this review?! Their ordering concept is made to make your experience less of a hassle. Their combination options are called«boxes» and there are several options. First question, what box do you want? A big one? A small one? An example of a «big box» would be the big box #1 for $ 11.95 — soup, salad, half sandwich and dessert. A small box #1 includes soup and a half sandwich for $ 7.95(perfect size for me!) Once you’ve decided your«box», now you just have to figure out what you want in it! Then, add a drink of your choice! 1, 2, 3, done! Super simple. I think the hardest part of ordering was the second step… figuring out which of the delicious menu items I wanted to have in my belly. I was lucky enough to be with another Unilocaler that is always super willing to share, so I got to sample a lot more items. The Sup Master Menu includes everything that they make in-house, but depending on what day you end up going, their daily menu changes. So today, out of their 75 soups, they were serving about 8(they claim to have 8 – 10 available daily). I savored the Seven-Pepper Chili and the Asian Shrimp with Vegetable and Ginger Noodle soups. Hefty servings(they don’t skimp), not over-flavored, good ratio of chunky ingredients: soupy liquid. Let’s talk sandwiches. The MM lists 16, of which(ha, you see what I did there?!) I nomed on the Gobbler II Wrapster and a muffuletta(special of the day, not on the MM). The wrap was a nice hand-held size that didn’t spill mayo-y goop everywhere(I hate it when that happens). Simple, straight forward ingredients always make for a good sammich. I dug the fact that the muffuletta was not super Southern and didn’t try to give you a heart attack mid-meal. The half sandwich size was the perfect compliment to my soup, and I was so full after having those two things. You know what’s funny, though? They have one salad. A simple Green Salad with 7 dressing choices. I’d like to see SuP expand on the salad horizon, especially since summer is right around the corner. I will now segway into their breads. All house made. Yeah. How boss is that? 14 breads, and half of them are gluten-free. Seriously, this is gluten-free heaven. I tried a sample of their Blue Cornbread with Cheddar and Green Chile(gluten-free, uses dairy and eggs), and it was awesome. Not too cheddar-y or chile-y and really, really dense. Yum, yum, yum. Speaking of yums, the most important of yums is always dessert. There are choices. So many choices. I was overwhelmed. I am never overwhelmed when it comes to dessert. The cheesecake was recommended to me, but I went with the coconut flan. It seemed to be more of a toasted coconut flan, but that isn’t a super huge distinction to fuss about. 5 stars, y’all. The location itself is not bad(corner of St. Francis and Cordova), it’s where the old Domino’s Pizza used to be. There aren’t many parking spots or tables to sit inside. The business doesn’t discourage diners that take their time, but their main focus seems to be more on take-out. If you want your food for there(like me), I would suggest avoiding the lunch rush or any dinner crowd. The place is clean, environmentally conscious, and well spaced. Like Whole Foods, recycling is available and divided into waste, paper trays and plastics. It is unclear whether your other paper waste(such as napkins) are allowed with the trays, but I suppose not. Careful when you grab your tray and take it to your table though, If your soup is sitting on one side, then the cardboard tray isn’t sturdy enough to hold that weight. Grab your delicious food with two hands so as not to create a mess! If you get your food to-go, then you’ll get everything in a box, which is so easy to carry! A problem only arises when you have several fountain drinks and no carrier in which to hold. Multiple trips will suffice, I suppose. I spoke with a very personable staff member multiple times(who I think was the shift manager, but he didn’t introduce himself so I will never know), who greeted everyone at the door to explain the menu and take any questions. Always a good way to make sure your business makes a good first impression on diners. If you’re not gung-ho about everything on the menu, check their website for the daily menu beforehand so you know what you’re getting. I had a great experience at SuP, and I hope you do too! Oh, and what’s more awesome on top of everything else? They honor our active duty military personnel and veterans. Just bring in a valid government issued ID or other valid military identification(DD-214, I assume for you veterans) to claim your free dessert!
