It’s been a while since I’ve actually sat down to eat here, however, even if you get something to-go the food has always been amazing! The service that we had when we did eat brunch here was fantastic. Very efficient and quick! I never had to ask for my beverage to be refilled, and the sweet selection is just incredible! Now that my mouth is watering, I’ll have to stop in again and grab a yummy burrito and some pastries, of course!

Wonderful breakfast/brunch! Maybe the best in Santa Fe. Our second visit included a breakfast sandwich and huevos rancheros. Both were delicious! Eggs cooked perfect and the breakfast sandwich is in a huge croissant. It was to die for! Be forewarned the Bfast sandwich with smashers will feed two hungry people! The environment is so cool. You watch the bakery at work through a 6×15′ plate glass window. Very nice touch. It’s a wee bit difficult to find but be tenacious, it’s well worth it! Bön appetite!

Cute little shop with homemade baked goods surrounding you. The atmosphere is calm, relaxing, and was a perfect place for us to stop and enjoy our pastries and drinks. The carrot cake was moist and flavorful. The white chocolate hot chocolate with almond milk was delightful. The peanut butter fudge brownie was moist with just the right amount of sweetness.

Everytime I go here my wait is over an hour for a table. Additionally, although the food tastes good, the portions seem to decrease while the prices increase. It’s definitely not worth a visit unless you’re only picking up an order or a quick pastry.

Really good breakfast with a decent vegetarian selection. I was actually surprised how good the scrambled tofu was. Staff is nice, too.

We arrived for lunch amid a steady rain and a cold day. We were seated immediately(we had reservations), and promptly ordered the Deluxe Nachos. We thought it would be a small plate, probably just enough for two people. Wrong! This was a dinner-sized plate piled high with nachos which included a lot of gooey cheese and plenty of mixed toppings. Delicious and good for a main order. My wife ordered the soup and sandwich combo with a bowl of potato-garlic-leek soup and a ham and brie sandwich with apples and spinach. She loved it, especially the soup. I had the Deluxe Burger with green chili and Swiss cheese. This was an interesting combo, cooked to order(medium rare) and served hot and steaming. We skipped dessert as we were going to Geronimo’s later for dinner and didn’t want to risk spoiling our appetites but the pastries in the cases looked wonderful. We have tried them on an earlier occasion and highly recommend something for later. The parking is a little funky, especially in bad weather as the business is located in an industrial strip area. You know, it is a commercial bakery and if you are seated near the back of the restaurant, you can watch the bakers do their thing through a large glass window. We’ll be back to eat with you again. A great lunch spot in Santa Fe.

Um, the three stars are certainly not given for the meal I had. Mostly, they are for free parking and for what appears to be delicious baked treats — I had no space for them though I wish I had. Also I was too disappointed by my so-called breakfast. I came at about 11:05AM, having just woken up past jet lag. I craved something breakfasty — pancakes to be precise. When I came in, I was told they had both breakfast and lunch, by the host. Turns out that what he should have said is that they stop serving breakfast at 11, but that they have a few breakfast items throughout the day. I settled on a quiche and coffee. The best part of that meal was a fresh salad that came with a quiche. The coffee was weak. Yes, I’m from Seattle, and everything seems weak after living in that city for twenty years, OK? But this was just poor effort. Quiche was awful. Plain awful. I should have sent it back but… what can I say. I was hungry. I just wanted something in my stomach by that point in time. Let’s put it this way: I had to cut it with a knife in order to divide it into edible chunks. It was supposedly spinach with feta or something… I barely felt feta. There was spinach, but it was so tasteless… and I didn’t even taste the eggs. It was nothing like the flaky, buttery goodness that I hoped for. Nothing. Service was off, too. I waited for awhile to be noticed. Then, when I was eating, the waiter kept coming over to check on me — and I felt like he was just waiting for me to be done so he could get the money and move on. I mean, seriously, leave me in peace with my awful quiche and weak coffee. So yes, despite the delicious treats waiting to be bought on the way out, I walked out swearing to myself that I would write this review and never return.

Excellent food! Loved their coffee so good you can drink it black. Excellent service from the waiters and quite friendly. I had the spinach quiche with the mixed green salad & bf had the Migas dish(similar to chilaquilad) both Delish! For desert the waiter recommended the bread pudding which melts in your mouth. We ate it like it was going out of style! Overall good quality food and excellent dining experience. If I lived here this would be my weekend go to spot!

Located in a warehouse district but undeserving of that local. Surprise inside is quant, classy and comfortable. The service is high end and professional without the Paree attitude. The food was very solid and delicious. I had the eggs Copenhagen and blue corn cakes. Eggs perfect as I had asked for. Actually sat in what they called the best seat in the house. It was a view of the bakery behind glass. Cool bakers back there. Go to this place for good conversation while you dine on great food. Bookmarked!

Yow-za! It all started with an awesome friend getting me a chocolate strawberry gauche cupcake from this place — and that is all it took and I was hooked. The only thing that is kinda disappointing is the fact that the cupcakes are hit and miss(hence the 4-stars). Sometimes you come in and there’s barely any cupcakes(like two selections) and other times, it is like cupcake-bonanza! I have talked to them on the phone a couple times, trying to understand their cupcake inventory conundrum, but they offer no answers. That delicious taste they offer also comes with a high price tag, but then again, it IS in Santa Fe! So, they are probably within the market price there. I have tried some of their cookies and pumpkin spice bread and they are pretty good. My idea for improvement, maybe get some kind of cupcake algorithm going on, so people don’t come in for cupcakes and leave disappointed!

While visiting Santa Fe, we stopped by the chocolate maven to have brunch. Sat right next to the window where they make all the pastry items. Food was wonderful and delicious. Eggs were perfectly cooked and their blue corn pancakes were on point and a must try! On a perfect cold snowy day — this was exactly what we needed and their hot chocolate was a great end to our great brunch.

Santa Fe was a little long weekend road trip for me with an aim to try everything! I would say food wise The Chocolate Maven was a highlight of the trip! We went for a last breakfast and I couldn’t get over first how cute and quiet the small dining area was. And the coolest part… they have a full glass window to watch the bakers making everything while you eat! Mind Blow For breakfast I tried the Green eggs and ham(cute name and trying to keep it local) it was amazing. I personally loved it with poached eggs as a twist on their eggs benedict and loved every minute of it. Portions were definitely large allowed for sharing if your ok with that. I did not try the waffles, pancakes, and what looked like amazing blueberry blue corn pancakes but if they look as good as they taste they are surely a winner! Before we left I got a chocolate croissant for the drive home and boy do I wish I bought a dozen. I don’t know about the locals but if you are going to Santa Fe for a trip I would say the Chocolate Maven is a must stop on the list!

What a cool experience. When first pulling up I was a bit confused by it being in a warehouse but then walking inside it was so cute. There is a big glass window that you can watch the pastry chefs make all the pastries. The food was great(I had the banana walnut pancakes) and the service was good too. Definitely a great place for kids too.

I stopped here to grab some lunch while working down the street. The restaurant is located in a warehouse and seems a bit intimidating before you walk through the front door. The door opens immediately into the bakery where you give your name for a table and then peruse all of the fresh baked goods while waiting for your table. For lunch, it took us a while to be seated(probably about 20 minutes). The dining area downstairs is very small and fairly intimate. The transition from outside a warehouse to inside a bakery/storefront to inside a nicely decorated room with probably 10 tables inside is a big one. Here’s the kicker: the back wall of the dining room has a large glass window that shows the working bakery in action. All of the sweets/breads/etc. are made in front of you as you eat, which is very cool. I’m losing my mind because I can’t remember what I actually ordered for lunch. Beef or pork something with something and something. I will update if I can remember. If not, I’ll just go again and update with what I eat. On the way out, I grabbed some peanut butter brownies and they were amazing. As soon as I got home, I poured up a big glass of milk and devoured the whole bag.

The baked goods(pecan tart, cookies, lemon bars) were mediocre, at best. The coffee(chocolate piñón drip) was also mediocre, at best, although I loved the idea of the flavor combo. I stopped here because I thought it was going to be more of a chocolate place and was disappointed it was just a packaged goods bakery…

8÷31÷14. Breakfast I wouldn’t have known or found this place, nested in an off-town warehouse building, had it not been for a friend’s recommendation. It’s a bakery with full service dining. Table cloth, charming dining room upstairs accessible via a spiral staircase. Migas($ 12) is a scramble with corn tortilla, Serrano chili(spicy alert), tomato and served with black beans. Being in New Mexico, you can’t avoid that southwestern, Mexican touch in your plate. It was delicious and I love the spicy kick. Oatmeal($ 7) was quite a disappointment. It was served in a shallow soup dish and was very runny. No fruit accompanied the oatmeal except for a small side of raisins. Pastry cases look great. They even have gluten free hand crafted pies. Chocolate croissant is a bomb! They do wholesale pastries and cakes so this is the place to be if you’re craving cakes in Santa Fe. The place does get very busy. We were seated right away at 9:30 in the morning on weekend(open at 9) but the line was long by the time we finished. It’s popular with locals and tourists.
