The food was really good & great bbq sauces that they sell to take home. The waitress just seemed a little careless.

Their cornbread was probably the best I have had. Service is excellent. Atmosphere is great. The half chicken with white bbq sauce was fantastic. The price is reasonable. The green chili slaw was really good. Nothing to complain about. This place is great. We ate here twice on our 3 day trip.

The car rental place recommended this place. They gave us a brochure containing a list of restaurants. The Ranch House was one of them. We were in the mood for bbq. Pretty nice place, but the food wasn’t the best. I ordered the special which was a lamb meatloaf sandwich. My brother ordered half rack of ribs that he said were dry. We got a free appetizer from the brochure from the car rental place, which was only good for the chips and salsa. We ordered the queso waffle fries because of Unilocal recommendations. Was pretty good because of the green chiles at the bottom. Decent joint, but not the best tasting food.

The food was delicious and the servers were pleasant. We prefer eating at unique, family owned restaurants. I would definitely eat there again. The only negative — we were there near closing time and the kitchen staff was very loud and banging things around as they wrapped things up.

I stopped in for their happy hour and it was absolutely perfect. A smokey pineapple margarita and sliders piled with delicious BBQ meat. The meat was divine! The best I have had, tender and full of flavor. Quick and competent service, comfortable and pretty atmosphere and great happy hour prices. I can’t wait to go back for dinner.

Always delicious! We eat here every time we come to Santa Fe. Great service too. Brisket is tender, waffle fries are to die for, hand cut and crispy.

Food was ok, but I ordered the house margarita and my husband ordered the pineapple margarita. They had to have been the worst margaritas we have ever had. We let the waitress know and she told us thats because they are made from scratch. Was disappointed that she did not offer to bring us replacements.

I came here on a recommendation as my car was getting serviced in the area and I needed something within walking distance. I arrived at the end of the lunch crowd on a Monday(and it had a HUGE lunch crowd) but was still promptly seated by the hostess. Their lunch menu, while small, offered some excellent choices at affordable prices. I decided to try their brisket, which came with cornbread and my choice of side. First, I have to say this is easily the best brisket I’ve had in New Mexico or Colorado. OK, that bar is set abysmally low(especially in Colorado), but the brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender and extremely lean. It comes with bottles of both hot and mild barbecue sauce so you can season your brisket to your liking. I appreciate this, as many inferior briskets have been slathered in sauce to hide their weaknesses. The cornbread and my side of beans were good enough. The reason this is getting four stars instead of five is because my server gave remarkably poor service, even after the restaurant was almost entirely empty. Yes, I was dining alone, but she still walked past me about a dozen times without asking about anything. After waiting about 20 minutes, I had to ask her if I could give her my order. When the food was served, the side was so hot it couldn’t be eaten, the brisket was tepid, and the cornbread was almost cold. As the server had come to my table to re-inquire about my side, I can only assume the rest of the food had been sitting for some time as this was eventually straightened out. Now that I know this place exists, I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town. If I could get better service, it would be a 5-star experience.

First– I’d like to say– DONOTLEAVEWITHOUTTRYING A HARVESTMULE! My pulled pork enchilada was amazing, and the calabacitias were yummy. Hubby got brisket/pulled pork combo was awesome… My sister had salad with salmon, I didn’t try it(don’t like salmon), she said the salmon was«okay». Our daughter had the mac & cheese(shocking– I know!)— it was really good, moist and definitely NOT from a box… I can’t wait to come back.

No negatives! Everything was great. Tender, juicy flavorful… I ordered the half-chicken with white BBQ sauce and sides of butternut squash purée. Because of a gluten issue couldn’t taste the yummy cornbread(husband said it was good); but they make their own GF bread, a add on for $ 1.50. Which I gave it a try and very glad I did. So all you GF people can order their yummy sandwich choices. My husband ordered the moist brisket and said it was like steak. Also said his potato salad was very good!

Reasonably priced food, good lunch specials. I have tried something different every time here and recommend the Spicy Pulled Pork Burrito, BBQ Shrimp Pasta, Green Chile Brisket Burrito. Will come back and try some more, but Im sure I won’t be disappointed.

I am a meat eater and this place has the stamp of approval. I really love the ribs and the steak. The brisket is pretty good but I’m not a huge fan of the flavoring of the pulled pork. Salads are great with corn bread croutons. Unfortunately, I find the corn bread that comes with meals to be WAY to sweet. All of the sides are well cooked and never soggy or overdone. I find the food to be very fairly priced and excellent when compared with the other steakhouse across the street(*cough* *cough*). The best thing about the place is that it is family owned and the employees are well trained and gracious. It’s always a pleasure to eat there or even to sit at the bar and have yummy cocktails because the service is so wonderful. Definitely visit if you are in Santa Fe.

Saw lots of reviews mentioned the waffle fries, so we ordered the con queso waffle fries with green sauce. That was by far our favorite dish! The baby back ribs with red chili honey glaze were fall off the bone tender. The glaze was on point and made them a step above. I had the brisket and pork plate, I found the brisket wasn’t as tender as I expected, but the pork was tender and, smoky, and well seasoned. The cornbread was dry and served cold, which was disappointing, but the sides of beans, slaw, and potato salad were all very flavorful and accompanied dinner fabulously.

Went here for lunch with 3 others on a Wednesday around 12:30pm. It wasn’t busy at all and we were seated right away. I had the brisket, spinach side and cornbread. Not bad but don’t get the lean, a little on the dry side. Price was only $ 7.95 and then we went to the bar after lunch. Delicious Bloody Mary, mixed just right, with great service. Definitely will stop in again and would recommend. It didn’t wow me but the price, service and atmosphere is excellent!

I love me some BBQ and finding good BBQ is hard to find in NM well I was glad I came across The Ranch House! This place serves up some killer BBQ along with a mix of your New Mexican favorites. A must have here is definitely the Ribs, Green Chile coleslaw and waffle fries!

Excellent BBQ! The meats are perfect low and slow and the sauce is competition-worthy. A nice plus is that the atmosphere is upscale enough that it’s a nicer more intimate experience. Service a little sloppy by normal standards, as they forgot our appetizers and the words«frost free» appear on the chilly hostess, but that’s more normal for Santa Fe. They offer take home BBQ sauce for sale but they should bottle the stuff for tourists like us in all of those hotels around them(Lost business) even if they have to offer it online shipped to their door(The bartender mentioned some weird City Different Santa Fe rule about selling BBQ sauce bottled in a restaurant.)

Ordered the full rack of baby back ribs and was absolutely delighted! I am a hard judge of bbq and this place happened to be right next to the hotel I was staying at when driving through New Mexico. As you can see from the picture the the ribs were very meaty and delicious, the slaw and sweet potato fries went perfectly with the meal. While the hot sauce provided was good, mixing it with the in house hot bbq sauce made the ribs even better! Meal was excellent, only complaint was that the ribs were slightly over cooked for a steep 27.99. Very family establishment with good service.

Overall, I was very pleasantly surprised by this place, and I wish I’d discovered it earlier. I’ll likely return for a barbecue fix. AMBIENCE I think that I just never paid any attention to Ranch House, since it seemed like it was supposed to be «fancy,» which I usually associate with«overpriced,» especially in Santa Fe. This wasn’t the case, however. While the interior of The Ranch House is nice, and it would be a good location for a nice family dinner/party, it wasn’t uncomfortable for a casual girl like me. The building also has a large amount of space, so even though there were a decent number of people at the restaurant, it didn’t feel too loud, or too crowded. FOOD We ordered the queso waffle fries with green chile, brisket plate, and pulled pork sandwich. The queso fries were yummy. The queso was made using melted Tillamook cheddar and was flavorful without being too salty. New Mexico green chile was just put on top, but in general, adding green chile to most things just makes them better, and this was no exception. The waffle fries were fried well and crispy, so they hold up to the sauce without getting soggy unless you eat them too slowly! Like the waffle fries, the sweet potato fries that came with the sandwich were also well-fried, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Both the brisket and pulled pork were tender, moist, and flavorful, although you have to put the barbecue sauce on yourself. The portions, in my opinion, are just right. The barbecue sauce, which comes in mild and spicy(not noticeably spicy to me, but maybe my taste buds have been burnt off since I love spicy food), was good enough, but nothing special. Other sides included baked beans, coleslaw, and cornbread.(Yellow Yukon potato salad is an option, but we didn’t try it thus time.) I was surprised that I enjoyed the baked beans, since I don’t usually. These, however, were made from dried beans, so they weren’t mushy, and the sauce was flavorful, and not too sweet, probably because they were made with house barbecue sauce. The coleslaw was mayonnaise coleslaw, but didn’t seem to be oversauced. The cabbage had a good crunch, and there was some apple mixed in, which have the coleslaw a good sweetness and tartness. The cornbread was moist, fluffy and tasty, but on the sweet side with not enough green chile inside it to be very noticeable. PRICES Considering the food’s taste and quality, interior, presentation, and good fundamental cooking technique displayed at Ranch House, it’s a great value. Our queso chile fry appetizer; brisket plate with cornbread, coleslaw and beans; pulled pork sandwich on brioche topped with coleslaw with a side of sweet potato fries, and a coke cost ~$ 34. Lunch specials on weekdays are even cheaper, only running about $ 8 – 15 each.
