Best breakfast I found in my short time in NM. I wish I would have knows before I ordered that troves of locals come here and they all order the breakfast burrito. Which looked great may I add. I opted for the corned beef and eggs, good hearty choice. Seat yourself and order at the counter type place, very casual and comfortable.

Okay – I’ve only been here for a cup of coffee(!) so I can’t expand upon the other things this place has to offer. But the ambiance is great, staff is friendly, and is a funky hole in the wall place that I would love to come back to.

Quaint place that looks more hole-the-wall than anything else — in a great way. Food was good. Table had lamb burger, snapper tacos and El Salvadoran combo. Steak pupusa and rice were the best. Veggie tamale was so-so. Lamb burger was decent — added manchego cheese which helped. Fish tacos were good. Ordered pear/raspberry gluten free pie, peach/cherry cobbler and maple pecan pie for dessert. Each was ok. Pie crust wasn’t great. Cobbler was so so. Pecan pie was burnt and a la mode meant a tbsp of ice cream. Waiter forgot or messed up everything we asked for… veggie tamale instead of chicken; ice cream on the pie instead of on the side; green chile on the burger instead of on the side. Would consider coming back but maybe for breakfast. Not overly impressed and expected more.

Our first time was an adventure; 1st of all there is little to no parking to be had, and we all know how much space those ‘earth friendly cars need, but we found a spot, 2nd we walked in and, it was a little disconcerting to see a couple of SF’s more eclectic customers sitting and ‘eyeballing you, as you walk in, 3rd while there are waitresses, they do not wait tables, AND they don’t tell you that when you first walk in. We finally got a handle, on how the café worked, the guy at the counter was great, very accommodating, we placed our order. Both entrees were cooked to our liking. My wife had a pre-breakfast tort, which tasted great, both our entrées were delicious. We will try again for lunch and maybe again for dinner.

Our group of 4 found a table on a busy Sunday, we were served quickly. Sandy had the special Blue Corn waffle– amazing. Even the basic breakfast and the Tune-Up breakfast were great. I had salmon eggs benedict which were incredible. Good enough for Guy… Good enough!

Cute casual atmosphere, quick service and great food. Had the steak papusas and bacon breakfast burrito. Both were delicious. Coffee and lattes are great too. Added Mexican chocolate to my latte. Highly recommend. Came early on a Sunday and were the first ones there. By the time we left, the place was crowded.

El Salvadoran delight. Helpful servers and owner. I had pupusas; mixed it up with veggie and beef, 1 each(as recommended by the wonderful cashier/hostess). Fabulous! A first for me. I don’t know when I’ll be in Santa Fe again, but I definitely want to try 3 or four other items on their menu.

Needs to develop order check system! It matters to me none at this point if the food is any good you’ve wasted an hour of my time! no stars! Pick up system thumbs down So here’s the scene, it’s Sunday night and your family all 8 of decide to pick up dinner. You spend 20 minutes choosing a spot that appeals to all in your party. Then 20 minutes to get everyone’s order. Next you call and share with them you have a large order and just want to make sure we don’t miss anything. Another 10 minutes. Then the 15 min drive, you go in and let them know your here and you pay. Throw them an extra $ 20 spot to make sure everything is correct. A few minutes later I got the food and headed out. Not 2 minutes down the road they call… Sorry forgot your soup… No biggie, turn around go back. Hands me a burger and soup… Oops we forgot that too. Leave again. Get home family’s gathering around the table everyone’s hungry from a long day! Only to find out they forgot another dinner! You won’t see me again, Jeff–

I’m a big Diners Drive ins and dives fan. I travel all over the country for work and whenever possible I hit every DDD place in the area. Dinner tonight was a treat at the Tune-up Café. The place is relaxed inside and the staff was excellent. The food was very good. With an artsy well rounded menu you aren’t eating the same old Tex mex served everywhere else. The presentation was fantastic. From the soup to the papusa each dish was lonely. I have one complaint though. I arrived just after 5:00p for dinner and the place want very busy. I ordered soup then an appetizer and finally an entrée. The food runner brought the soup and appetizer together. So I had a taste of each then in less than 5 minutes here’s the food runner with my entrée. This made me feel rushed and ruined my chill relaxed dinner mood. I just want you Unilocalers to understand I enjoyed my food and found no fault in the wait staff. I’m certain they run this fast pace because they have limited space. This is a true gem based on the food songs and enjoy! FoodDude!

Tune-Up is a great name for this place. If you’re looking for a hearty and tasty breakfast to give you the carbs to take you through the day, this is the spot. Before embarking a day long hike, I had the Tune-Up breakfast(chile relleno with two eggs, refried beans, and corn tortilla). It was perfect. Others in our party really liked their dishes: — Salvadoreno huevos rancheros featuring fried bananas on the side — Huevos rancheros served in a bowl with pintos, jack cheese, and red & green chile sauces — Steak and eggs with scallion hash browns and chile Coffee was excellent as was service. TIP: This place is small and can fill up fast, but tables turn over quickly. It pays to call ahead.

My favorite breakfast spot at the moment. The gluten free pumpkin waffles are my jam. It comes with bacon and fresh fruit, and the waffle pretty much tastes better than any other waffle I have had– gluten free or not. I’m not sure what goes in the batter, but if I am ever in the mood for something sweet(but not too sweet) then this place is a must. The corned beef hash is also to die for. I am currently in a personal battle over what to order– CBH or GF Waffle… decisions, decisions!

Seemed like a local’s hangout on a Saturday morning. Self ordering is easy. We liked the curried lentil soup(excellent with lots of veggies), the chicken enchiladas, salmon tacos and apple cranberry empanada. Topped it off with Mexican hot chocolate. Very filling, large portions, and all just what we needed after a long hike at the Randall Davey Audubon Center

Tonight I ordered: Green chile beef stew Salvadorian combo tres leches cake strawberry rhubarb pie It was alright. The stew and Salvadorian combo didn’t make me say omg I need to have the recipe. It was just… Ok. It wasn’t packed with flavor but it wasn’t bland… Just hm, ok. Tres leches cake was hard and dry served with very little milk. Makes me wonder if they served me an old piece of cake due to how hard and dry it was. Not the best tres leches out there in the world, I suggest they redo this entire recipe or don’t serve old cakes. Would not return because I was not impressed with the food.

A hidden gem!!! This is the ultimate spot to get local, amazing New Mexican food with a touch of flare! Came here for a late dinner at 8pm last night with my sister and we were visiting from Texas. Immediately when we pulled up it looked very casual and definitely café-like. All of the twinkling lights and cool décor made me feel like I was back in Austin, Texas. We chose our seats inside since it was a little chilly and our server greeted us immediately. I asked about gluten-free entrees and he informed me that almost everything on the menu was gluten-free or they could alter it to be gf. He also mentioned that the chef was the owner and he was featured on the Food Network channel for the two signature dishes which my sister and I both tried: I ordered the El Salvadoran Combo(with a chicken tamale and a veggie pupusa) and my sister ordered the Chile Relleno. All entrees come with a choice of a house or Cesar salad. We both got the house salad which had an amazing vinaigrette and the vegetables were super fresh. Both of our entrees came out hot, fresh, and absolutely everything I hoped they would be. This was by far the best place I had eaten in New Mexico(Albuquerque AND Santa Fe combined). You get a lot of food for what you pay for and it is absolutely delicious. We were recommended The Pantry for breakfast by our server so I’ll be trying that today. I left feeling so satisfied I decided to grab a super soft t-shirt($ 18) on the way out to remember this fun little café!

Our dear friends who are Santa Fe locals highly recommended this place for breakfast. So on our way out we dropped by and we were the first customer of the day! On Labor Day! I am a fan of Corn Beef and French Toast. On this venture I decided to try the former and forsake the latter. I was in the mood for something savory that day. I made the right choice. This dish was superb. Home made and two over easy eggs on top was like the icing on a cake. Chuncks of corn beef with a slight crunch on the the sides(favorite part). Mixed in there were onions, potatoes and green peppers. So simple. So good. It’s the corn beef. It’s the star and rightfully so. The inside is ridiculously cute! With a small bar. There is another room in the back that is a bit more private for a sweet rendezvous :) there is an outside area to people watch. Parking on the side or street parking. Not a pro tip: but someone who has dined here once. You order. Pay. They will bring your order to you. In the meantime feast your eyes on the cute inside. Bonus tip: very cute male server for you out there that’s in the market. You are welcome!

I travel a lot and this is still one of my favorite restaurants of all time. The tamales and pupusas here are the BEST I have ever had. The restaurant itself is very cozy and the service was attentive. If it’s nice weather outside dining on the patio is great especially at night with the lights up. I always order the El Salvadoran Combo($ 13) which comes with banana leaf wrapped tamale, pupusa, rice, and a caesar salad to start. I highly recommend this entrée! The tamale is soo soft and has such a unique flavor. The pupusa is extremely cheesy and has the perfect crunchy outside. My boyfriend got the chile relleno($ 12) which was pretty good but honestly nothing even close to the tamale and pupusa! We also ordered the guacamole and chips($ 6.50) which was really delicious too. Overall you have to try this place if you are in Santa Fe! There’s a bit of a wait sometimes but it’s definitely worth it!

Just stopped by this place while visiting Santa Fe this morning… And it was fantastic! We wanted a delicious brunch and everyone was craving something different, so this was the perfect choice! The atmosphere is so inviting and cozy. Everyone who works here is so nice and they move quickly! It’s a bit small, so I’m sure there’s some waiting during their busy times. I got the gluten free waffles. They were on special, so I’m not sure if they have them all of the time, but if they do, they are a must get. Also, the bacon was cooked to absolute perfection, which is becoming a rare thing to find anymore. It was the perfect mix of crunchy and chewy and flavor! I highly recommend this place… So does Guy Fieri since his name is next to the door.
