Yes readers, you’ll want to check out Yogasource the next time you’re in town, or nearby, or just plain-​old needing a guided shivasana. There’s nothing flashy about classy, reliable Yogasource, where the instructors really do care about yoga. and you. There are water features outside, good floors and decent heat/​AC, and an occasional cat that comes to the window and looks in at you. Good vibes. Don’t worry, the cat doesn’t actually come inside, although I wouldn’t mind if they’d let it.
Indeed, Yogasource is precious because it’s a place of serenity in an otherwise hyper-​connected world.
And, there’s nice (pricey) stuff to buy at front — tops, pants, mats, etc. Don’t interpret the staff’s coolness as unkindness.
Lastly, I suggest checking the schedule online right before you leave the house — sometimes instructors change at the super last minute, which may or may not be what you desire.

Each teacher at Yoga Source is superbly trained and excellent at conveying that knowledge to every yoga practitioner, especially helping you work toward more advanced poses. Olga, Wendalin, Ja Soon, Amy, and Surya are my favorite instructors and I always feel lucky to attend their classes. Sunday morning classes when Tias is teaching is like going to a different kind of church –sharing your practice with others and taking time to heal. I practiced here for about six years and I will always cherish my time at Yoga Source. The lovely and peaceful rock garden that you encounter before entering the studio sets the stage. Hard tail and other top quality clothing is offered along with books, mats and props. Go here! You will deepen your practice and find your center.

I was visiting from out of town and friends suggested I visit Yogasource. Chryssie was very thorough and patient. I felt as though she tailored the practice to suit my physical limitations without sacrificing the quality of the practice for the others. I will definitely go back when in the area again. And I wish I could bring her to teach in DC!

I have practiced yoga for over ten years and have studied with a variety of teachers. YogaSource has a skilled group of teachers who are also avid practitioners. There is a variety of teacher styles and personalities, so it is easy to find a good fit depending on your own skill level and personal style. They have and use props well making almost all sessions approachable depending on your level. It has a wide range of regular participants so students fit in no matter what your age and ability.
Teachers are very warm and caring. They always ask newcomers if they have any body issues and will fine tune poses to assist you if you need it. It is not a competitive environment — they encourage you to listen to your own body and practice accordingly.
YogaSource is really an asset to living in Santa Fe and a great place to stop in for yogis looking for a welcoming studio when visiting.

I found Yoga Source I came to Santa Fe for a 8 month period this past January and am so thankful that it popped up first on my google search of «best yoga studio in Santa Fe».
I have long had a steady practice at home in LA, and for long periods in NYC, Chicago, and Baltimore. The teachers at Yoga Source do not teach one class a week or every 10 days! Each are long time students of Yoga with years of teaching experience. I cannot single out one teacher as better than the next. As with any studio you must investigate on your own, take several lessons and find your favorites.

I share your opinion of some of these reviews. This is the most unpretentious pleasant experiences you will have. Everyone extremely nice and accommodating. It is Far… FAR…FAR…from young. The classes we have been in are all varied, very kind and patient instructors, and every class is full of mostly older people… including me. Maybe it’s because of gentle yoga and those classes are easier. But if you feel like getting healthy, this is a great atmosphere to do it in. I’ve been to other places here, that are big studios and retail. This to me is the real deal. I like it.

Lovely Early St. location — haven’t been to the other one. Excellent price and space to relax. Fun, knowledgable teacher who took the time to adjust individuals who were at different levels. Would def recommend and go again!

While vacationing in Santa Fe, I decided to take a yoga class. And I sure found the right studio. At home in Yorba Linda I’m spoiled at Full Circle Yoga with its smallish classes, personal attention, and peaceful sweet and friendly vibe. Yoga Source offers the same with its well rounded approach. I want more than just a vinyasa flow, I like the whole yoga experience. I took a Sunday morning class with Cynthia, Iyengar style with a great backbend sequence. After driving and traveling for a week, it felt so good. I want to move to Santa Fe so I can come to Yoga Source! I even love its funky location. But I’m lucky I get to go home to Full Circle too.

Restorative yoga is outstanding… wish it was every day. Gentle yoga is also good. Staff is fabulous and they really know what they’re doing. They are very helpful individually and responsive to each person’s needs and physical limitations, if any. Classes are not crowded and the environment is peaceful.

Yoga Source is an excellent place to study yoga! It is NOT full of young people… I’m usually by far the youngest in the room. I’m 28. The first time I came into the class, there were so many experienced looking people, that I went to re-​check the sign in sheet to make sure I was in the right class.
There’s no pretension. It’s simply about practicing yoga and all its philosophies. Nothing is pushed down your throat… There’s no pill to swallow. They take what they do seriously without an agenda… The philosophy is there if you want to learn, and I do. I haven’t once felt out of place or uncomfortable.
The teachers are all masters at what they do. I just moved here from Chicago and didn’t know what to expect, but WOW… I’m into it! I’m really enjoying my time here!

Since I live here, I’ve researched a number of yoga studios in Santa Fe. Yoga Source is by far the best. Clean, friendly, good facilities, well-​equipped, and a variety of classes offered all day so you can find the one that’s right for you. I read the other negative reviews and don’t even recognize it as the same place.

Nutshell recommendation: If you want more individualized attention, and mellow atmosphere that’s just yoga, go here. If you want more of a social scene and other extras, go to Body. They both have great instructors.
The other reviewers reflected on their one or two or 3 visits to this studio. I started my yoga practice 2 years ago out of curiosity and on a whim. I checked out a few studios and teachers. I had the preconception that the studio was snotty and pretentious because they have always had beautiful studios in great locations. I was happily wrong! The studios are even more beautiful and green than 5-​star yoga resorts i’ve been lucky to go to. I have yet to find a studio in southern Marin to match this one. In fact, i go to Piedmont Yoga in Oakland when I really start missing Yogasource – which is often!
I owe my interest in yoga and loving kindness to the staff and practitioners at Yogasource. I regularly attended classes here – i usually bought the
3-​month unlimited b/​c i went more than 3x/​week I also went to alot of workshops (workshops w/​great visiting teachers) and nobody ever gave me anything but positive encouragement in pursuing my interest. Admittedly, I moved to southern marin 6 months ago and never took a class from Timo. But for me my top 3 instructors (partly due to schedule) were Linda, Amy and Wendy. Tons of people loved Foster, Ja Soon, Melissa, Olga, Chrissy, and of course Surya and Tias Little – the original founders of the studio. Everyone on staff is very nice.
Sunday night Pranayama w/​Wendy is a steal! Usually only a few people would show up. (I am not sure if this class still exists.)
Amy loves to work on core asanas. That would be great for CA yogis, it seems that there is more interest here in core work yoga.
Their little yoga shop. I figured out why they always had a good selection. One of the staff’s relatives works at Prana’s offices and seems to get the insider’s scoop on what will sell well. So I learned to just get the new stuff for me and my husband when they showed up before they were sold out everywhere. They also sell Tonic, which is hard to find in the U.S.
This is not a Vinyasa studio– they have vinyasa classes. I think of it more as
eight-​limbed yoga or «whole yoga.». So expect chanting, reference to the Sutras, pranayama, partner yoga, etc in a regular hatha class. Also, if the instructors tell you to get up close and watch a demo-​they arent kidding. Get up really close. Part of this is due to the fact that there are usually instructors or would-​be instructors in the class. Thats another sign of the quality of the instruction, i think. (another reason why I like Piedmont Yoga). The classes are smaller so for the same price as Body in SFe you get more personalized attention.
There are alot of long-​time practitioners who go here. Dont get intimidated – they are friendly. Lots of parking. Tons of cute yoga clothes. Good restaurants and coffeeshops are w/​in walking distance or 5-​munute drive. For the tourist yogi, there are some off-​Canyon road galleries on Second St and Pacheco.

I attend the classes at Yoga Source every time I come to Santa Fe. The last two visits I have had the great good luck to attend Foster’s class. OK, so the place isn’t warm and fuzzy although the receptionist today was very pleasant and helpful. I would say the staff overall seems very professional and knowledgeable. And as someone who suffers from chronic arthritic pain what I want is someone who knows anatomy and challenges me without putting me in a posture that will hurt me. I so much enjoy Foster’s class and his depth of knowledge. I always learn something new about postures that I know, and learn a few new ones as
well. I look forward to attending more classes here.

Truly the best yoga studio in the West. Amazing instructors, friendly front desk staff (which honestly is such a nice change after many years of feeling beat up at other studios when checking in.) Great selection of classes, up to 10 a day. I can recommend Wendelin, Amy, Ja-​Soon, Olga, Linda, Timo, Tim, Surya, Matt… pretty much everyone there. Experience Yogasource. You’ll love it!

NICE VINYASA STUDIO — MADE ME WANT REINCARNATION NOW — I was in Santa Fe for a conference in the center of town; Yoga Source was the closest studio offering vinyasa yoga. The studio was a very nice surprise. It is in a very nondescript strip mall hidden behind an animal hospital, but inside it is a beautiful studio space– wood floor, natural light, large and open. Santa Fe has a very mature population so I was worried about finding a yoga class that would be somewhat challenging. The staff at the front desk could not be nicer. The vinyasa class was led by Colleen; there were only two students so we had a great semi-​private lesson for the regular price. It was not a vigorous workout typical of San Diego vinyasa, but Colleen did a great job teaching some of the fine points of back flexing during inversions; I would be interested in her tutoring for arm balances. Colleen is also a very personable and absurdly cute petite yogina; during Shavasana I wished I could be reincarnated as a 30 year old trathlete so I could ask her out. So far it has not happened, but I do recommend Yoga Source for a nice Yoga break.
