The food is still very good but the service has become slow and inattentive. I love the quality of the food but it seems the training of the service staff and the number of servers is not competitive. I hope they will realize that good food is necessary but making people feel important is as well

One night in Santa Fe and we nailed it with Midtown Bistro. Tucked away, once found, four of us had a casual and elegant dinner. I would have to say this was the best meal I’ve had this year. Dinners included rib eyes and risotto. No cocktails available but the wine list is impressive and we enjoyed the Ferrari-Carrano Siena blend. Try this place and you will be happy you did.

It’s a solid 3 because the staff is so friendly and wonderful. Overall, the food was okay, the setting comfortable,(though sort of strangely 80’s) and the service was attentive and sweet. I think they definitely cater to the retired set — meaning the food is a bit overpriced for the small portions, perfect for folks with larger wallets and smaller appetites. Pluses were the bacon and the grilled bread and the cooks know how to make a very good omelet. The French toast could have had more«toast» and less of other ingredients, but had good flavor. Huge miss is the coffee, I am a broken record when it comes to this — Santa Fe, make better coffee!!! If we wanted hot water, we’d just order that. Next time I’ll order wine and definitely try the crab cakes!

Excellent brunch-poached eggs with hollandaise sauce over an English muffin with crab cakes and home fries on the side-the best I’ve had in SF! Service is very attentive and white table cloths are a nice touch! Prices are VERY reasonable for SF! Fresh flowers and nice atmosphere! Now I’m a big fan!

I have tried most of the lunch entrees and can recommend the salmon, the crab cakes(small), the Cobb salad and the mushroom soup(currently not on the menu). The steak in the steak salad was tough. There were only three shrimp, which very perfectly cooked, on the Nicoise salad. The salad greens remain very fresh though I have found the dressings nothing special. The fish n chips in my earlier review I tried again and they were over breaded, some of the breading fell off, they substituted sea bass without informing me, and one of the pieces was not tender. In both instances of sub par meals I was offered another choice after much of what I was served was consumed. The service remains good and courteous. I should also correct the previous review in that the building is not the old Cloud Cliff bakery; that building is next door. I should also note that finding parking at lunch time is a challenge. Final note: I have not tried the burgers.

I had a lovely lunch recently at this wonderful Santa Fe gem. I had heard of this place, but had never been there until this visit. All I can say is WOW! This place is truly wonderful. Hidden away in the warehouse populated area north of St. Michaels and west of St. Francis, MB is tucked beautifully along side a rock and fountain purveyor, which makes for a beautiful entrance. The restaurant itself is quite chic — white table cloths, red leather chairs – very, very nice. The food is amazing too! Interesting menu, fresh, delightful choices, plentiful portions and good prices for Santa Fe. On this visit I had the ½ sandwich, salad and soup – a Reuben with gruyère which was delicious, with roasted sweet potato soup and a nice fresh salad. All wonderful. My friends loved their plates – blue corn enchiladas, a chicken sandwich, and the chipotle cream pasta special. All wonderful. We split two desserts too – the sticky toffee pudding which was really tasty and the chocolate cake, which sadly was the only disappointment – it was far too dry and crumbly. We all ended up wearing some of it because it wouldn’t stay on the fork. Watching all the food pass us enrollee to other tables was quite enticing – mounds of fried calamari looked amazing, mammoth burgers, huge salads, and giant bowls of cream of green chile soup. I can’t wait to go back!

Fish & chips worth every penny! The burger worth fighting icy roads, to enjoy! You will never be disappointed, whether you are sitting in the Patio area during a summer lunch, or in the newly expanded dinning area for dinner. Desserts that just Rock like carrot cake :) The team of pros will keep you coming back, and enjoying the fresh roses at each table all year long!

Food here is always great. They have a nice patio as well during the warmer months. Dog friendly. I had the rueben and she had salmon on last visit. Wine selection by the glass could be more extensive but a minor gripe.

My boyfriend and I frequent this place. The location is great and the food is even better. I have loved every dish I’ve ordered here. I highly recommend the Sunday brunch paired with a mimosa or two.

LOVE the upscale atmosphere, every towny dresses up, I guess this way we get to know who is a tourist! the staff is awesome, the food is great and reasonably priced, the greeter is a delight, service is fab… make reservations… specially if you want to sit in their gorgeous shady backyard filled with water features.

Favorite restaurant in town. Every time I eat there I always have the crabcakes, they are seriously the best in town. Good place for lunch or date night. If you go during busy hours you want a reservation.

Went here last night while passing through Santa Fe. Ambience is very nice; perfect for a romantic evening(although I was by myself). Food quality was very good although I thought the menu was a bit pretentious and some of the items were definitely overpriced. A cup of soup is $ 8. While the food is very good, I don’t think any soup is good enough to cost $ 8. Looking at the menu I’d say they’re marking up their items quite a bit. But if you’ve got money to spend, the food is great!

This is by far the best place to eat in town, the food is magnificent, the service is always great, and the price is beyond lower than expected when walking in to a fancy restaurant. If you want to have a meal that is put together like a piece of art but still tastes wonderful, then I suggest eating here. Compliments to the chef!

This was awesome. The service was admittedly a little slow and the waitress tried to up sale me on wine, coffee, dessert, etc. Which was annoying but forgivable considering the food was amazing. I had the Salmon(normally trout, but they only had salmon) with couscous and chimichurri sauce. I washed it dow with a glass of Plungerhead Zinfandel. It was so delicious. A lot of subtlety to the food. A lot of different flavors in the couscous, complementing each other and coming forward at different times. It was perfect!

This used to be our«go-to» restaurant in Santa fe but that has changed. The food quality is not the same as it was last October and this evening we went for dinner with five of our local friends to give it one more try. Big mistake! Not only is the food different and not good, but one of our party was served food with a toothpick embedded inside which was both disgusting and dangerous. When we complained about it the waitress initially took no action so we asked for the manager, who wasn’t there(according to the wait staff). There was no apology, no comping the dish and instead the waitress was annoyed and then laughed about it with another server near the bussing station in plain sight. None of us will EVER eat here again or recommend it and this restaurant will likely be gone in six months due to bad, expensive food and an even worse attitude.

I have enjoyed lunch at Midtown Bistro a few times, decided to try dinner and we were pleasantly surprised. Everything was on point, server was knowledgable about the wine list which helps. I ordered the halibut with a pesto risotto. My significant other ordered the steak which was cooked perfect served with an awesome scalloped potato. Edmond, one of the owners was there and chatted with us a bit which was a nice end our meal. Great food in the middle of town.

It was our first time to visit Midtown Bistro and we absolutely loved it. After making reservation we arrived and were warmly greeted by our server. We ordered hot tea which was delightful. We decided to try the quinoa and the rib-eye steak. They were both perfectly made and the flavor was very rich and tasty. The mood in mid-town bistro was elegant and made it very romantic. At the table they had fresh roses and candles that set the mood right. The servers were on point and made the dinner altogether amazing. The next time your in Sante Fe I would highly recommend a dinner with family and friends at Mid-town bistro. This place truly exceeded all my expectations. Enjoy!

Loved our dinner! Tuna appetizer, caesar and halibut. All dishes had loads of layers and flavors. Staff was attentive but not too much. Husband likes to not be bothered but taken care of and staff was dead on. Will return and recommend to friends.

Been here 3 times now… first time had the fish and chips, delicious. Shared a tres leches cake, which was also fantastic. Second time, had the big burger… it was rich! Definitely not spa menu food. Latest time, had the fish dish with pearls of couscous or something… it was also very rich. Lots going on in the flavor department. I have to say, I want to give this place at least 4 stars, but find it hard to pick the right words to describe the food perfectly. It is good, robust, full of flavors, but perhaps too complicatd for my simpler taste buds? What I really enjoyed each time here, was the outside patio with fountains. It is beautiful.

Midtown Bistro has the nicest outdoor space of any restaurant in Santa Fe with fountains, beautiful plinths and sculptures, lush greenery and comfortable seating. Tables are set with linens and heaters are provided for chilly evening dining. The inside portion of the restaurant is spacious and quite attractive: large enough for a celebratory lunch or dinner, but with enough smaller seating for a party of two. The chilled avocado cucumber soup is a palate pleaser, especially on these hot summer days. The housemade chips are perfectly fried: not greasy and well seasoned. The roast pork sandwich with caramelized onion was grilled and the taste: first rate. Bread is supplied by Whole Foods. The Cobb salad made with spinach, egg, chicken, tomato, bacon and avocado was by far, the best I’ve tasted. The young man who was bussing was very helpful and friendly. He should have been the waiter. I would have given a five star rating but our waiter didn’t check on how we liked our food, if we needed anything during the course of the meal and wasn’t friendly when we ordered; he seemed rushed. We had to ask the busser for our check. The waiter seemed friendly when he brought the check; they may have just been short staffed. There are clean spacious restrooms with handicap access. The restaurant is off West San Mateo and not a place you would run into on a Sunday drive, but it is well worth finding.
