IHOP

We were leaving Santa Maria after a great dinner the night before at Jocko’s Steak house in Nipomo CA. For an Ihop this was a great experience an there were about 15 of us. There is a large secluded room in the back. The coffee just kept flowing and the food was served hot. That’s doing good for an IHOP (:

Love their yummy pancakes. All their specials are great, I forget them and I’m going to come more. Anthony is such a joy.

Try the chicken waffles! The waffles was crunchy and soft at the same time. The chicken tender was soo good. My fav was the honey mustard sauce. It was bomb! The pancake is the best pancake i have ever tried

OMG! we went in today around 4. The greeter in the front needs to learn to SMILE! We walked in and she had a poop face askin how we were. You could totally tell she didnt care. She didnt even smile at all. Atleast the waiter was much nicer! The food is ok, waitress are friendly, greeters are barbage (ALL THE TIME)

Boy is my wife and I gluttin for punishment, we thought we would give this joint another chance went there this morning for breakfast, was put on the list because they were busy 15 minutes later we were called, shown to our booth in the corner givin menus, and they were gone! After 5minutes of waiting for at least our water i decided to start my timer. They srarted taken orders from people they sat down after us. After the timer hit 15minutes and no service my wife n i got up and left went to jacks in old orcutt!!!
Bomb service and great food!!!

I usually come back to places that I have reviewed just to see how they have come along. I have to say that I am well-​pleased to see improvement from my last visit. I have to drive 20 minutes to get to it, and I am happy to do so now. The staff is friendly. The food comes just as ordered and fast. The coffee is just right, and this is now my favorite breakfast place. Thanks for great service.

Big size I HOP, ok location, parking was sufficient. Disabled persons can easily access this restaurant food was served and tasted amazing it looked great and looked like the cook cared about how it was presented not the same to say about the San Luis store that I went to the day after this one they serve their food horribly and had no care in how they presented it I will say that this IHOP is great and I would definitely go out of my way to go here the server naomi was awesome and definitely appreciated her hospitality and friendly sense of humor 5 stars IHOP

The service here is always hit and miss. Lately it’s been more miss than hit.
Today takes the cake. I called in to order my meal to-​go, as I have many times in the past. (I’m severely hypoglycemic, so when I need to eat, I need to eat… and I need protein and carbs if I want to function for the day.)
I asked for the Blueberry & Banana Harvest Grain pancake breakfast. I came to pick it up, paid (and tipped), and came back to the office to eat my breakfast.
I look in the bag and apparently there was a mix-​up because what I got was a stack of plain Harvest Grain & Nut pancakes with the sugary, syrupy blueberries on the side. No protein since the turkey bacon & eggs aren’t there… only a ton of sugar and carbs… which means I’m incredibly hungry now & know I’m going to crash and get really sick.
I eat half a pancake since I had the smarts to ask for sugar free syrup, but I realize it’s not going to work… I’m feeling dizzy at this point, so I decided to call & let them know what happened. I was thinking maybe I could go back to get my side of turkey bacon & eggs and all will not be lost.
Nope! No luck!
I called and found out it’s actually MY FAULT I don’t have the side items I thought I’d ordered.
I explained to the girl who answered that there must be a mix-​up. I told her what I’d ordered & what I’d actually received.
She informed me, point blank, that if I wanted the sides, I needed to order THE COMBO.
I let her know that I ordered ‘the breakfast’ so I thought that implied the meal, or the combo… still thinking there could be a remedy available.
«Oh, no, you have to order the combo, ok?!» she insisted.
I said, «OK, I understand that now, I have to say ‘combo’ not ‘breakfast’, thanks. But that’s it, we can’t fix this?»
And she said, «Yes, thank you,» quite frankly, and then she hung up.
Okayyy???
I’m sorry, but BLUEBERRY W/​BANANA HARVEST GRAIN PANCAKE «BREAKFAST» doesn’t mean a stack of pancakes with a side of syrupy blueberries in my mind. It means blueberry pancakes with bananas on top, just like I always get.
If there was any confusion or ambiguity, I’d expect the person taking the order to ASK and clarify.
I’ve never had this happen before.
But alas, it is MY FAULT for not using THE MAGIC WORDS.
Lesson learned: Ordering ‘breakfast’ does not a ‘combo’ make. And don’t expect IHOP to offer a fix on their part, or the offer of placing a side order. They’ll just hang up, and leave you hanging.

Bacon tasted like it was cooked in used grease, the servers were too busy gossiping to refill my coffee, and they left their dish Cart next to my table while they rush our party of 3 to eat and leave. The Ihop in Santa barabara is a thousand times better.

Typical IHOP, food was good but not outstanding. It wasn’t busy when we pulled in around 8:30 AM.
I had the healthy option, 2 pieces of turkey bacon and scrambled egg whites. It also came with a side dish of fruit.
Server was a little slow to come to the table, even though they had maybe 8 tables in the store with people.

They really need to invest on a new dish washer this is unacceptable for a restaurant to have dirty cups like this!!!

When choosing breakfast in Santa Maria, our choice is always IHOP… The food is
always good, always the same… consistent. I like that!
The last time I was there, I left my appointment book (with cash & checks in it) in the booth I was sitting at. I didn’t realize I had left it until I got home in Huntington Beach!
Before I could even call, the manager (I think he’s the manager) DANIEL LOPEZ
called me to let me know they had it! Of course I figured all the money was gone, but I still needed my appointment book!
To my surprise, everything was still in it, and Daniel said he would ship it out to me by FedEx the next day. And wouldn’t even let me pay for it!
I can’t begin to tell you how thankful I am to Daniel and IHOP for their great customer service!

Not cool. Wifes crepes were dripping with grease. The waitress was very friendly & offered to have them redone, but sending food back is a scarry proposition these days. The coffee pot they left at the table had some kind of black nasty stuff around the base. Might have been the glue holding the bottom on. My bacon avacado omlette was good, so second star, but my pancakes were tasteless.
This IHOP has went downhill the last couple of years.

«The cook is new and still not familiar making the scramble.», the waiter apologized before serving us our breakfast. It wasn’t a good sign and by the quality of the fare we had, he was right. The pancakes were undercooked and the scramble was a «scramble». The waiter was amiable though and the single bright spot of our experience.

Bad customer service. The only reason we came in was for the kids birthday club coupon. They wouldn’t accept the coupon on my phone only print outs. Managers should have the authority to make an exception.
The food is not even that good. We won’t be back!

I’ve enjoyed breakfast and brunch at this IHOP more than a dozen times in the past, today I took a gander at the new Banana Foster Brioche, French Toast, Sausage, Egg Comboooooo… The toast is lightly dipped in sweetened Vanilla batter, an excellent substitute for syrup giving it a unique and quite enjoyable taste. Bananas are a nice touch. It was all fresh and presented by a friendly server. There are two or three other ways the toast can be served which is always nice depending on what you’re up to. The overall experience at this particular IHOP has always been great and the staff is helpful, friendly and fast. Take a gander if your live near by or if you’re passing by, you will be pampered with pancakes, bacon, sausage, hash browns n’ syrup!!! Say ahhhhh!

Tonight was a major disappointment I ordered the bacon hash brown stack. It came cold and the hash browns undone. My husband ordered a western omelet and found a long hair on it! can anyone say Eeew?! Not coming back until Brooke comes back from maternity leave. These replacements are horrible! update. They let Brooke go. So they didnt honor my birthday certificate either. Done with this dump.

IHOP was doing brink business when we rolled into town on a lark. With hundreds of familties milling around on the sidewalk and in the grass, the hostess’s claim that we’d be seated in 15 minutes seemed dubious at best.
And yet– she was right!
As far as the food goes, it was standard IHOP. I hasd a garden crêpe – which came out looking none too appetizing as if it was a pecie of wonderbread with velveeta on it. It was actually quite delicious.
Our waitress was a sweetie, and very accomodating to us, even after my daughter drank 10 units of coffee creamer and we had to ask for more.

I just had the nastiest mashed potatoes if you can even call them that. The consistency was like glue. It was clearly not made in house. NO flavor whatsoever!
Red Velvet pancakes were delicious. I’m torn!

I wish I could put negative stars.
My family and I stopped in here for lunch after an amazing morning wedding dress shopping for my sister. We were elated to have found not only the wedding dress for her upcoming nuptials, but bridesmaids dresses as well! We were seated promptly enough, had our orders taken, and our server was friendly. Our food arrived, and after I took two bites of my scrambled eggs, I cut into the next bunch to find a BLACK HAIR IN MY EGGS.
Now before you ponder whether it may have been one of mine that fell out on to the plate, 1) it was UNDERNEATH the eggs, not on top, and 2) I have RED hair not black!
I was disgusted and I am struggling not to gag again as I remember my breakfast being ruined.
The waitress was visibly embarrassed by the situation and rushed the plate back to the kitchen assuring me it would be taken care of. I quickly told her I didn’t want eggs anymore, just the pancakes. I couldn’t have choked another round of them down even if I tried.
My pancakes arrived and I ate them, and I was ASTONISHED to see my entire breakfast, at full price, on the bill. WHAT?! Are you kidding me?!
No manager ever came by to apologize, and after that escapade I still paid full price?! I will never ever go back and I’ll be writing a letter to their corporate offices as well.
Disgusting.
Edited to add: After my review and a phone call to their corporate offices, I was contacted by the local manager who apologized PROFUSELY for my experience and for not coming to apologize to me when this ordeal occurred. I have been promised a gift card for IHOP to try them again, and that makes things better.
