Tom’s hasn’t changed probably since the place went up and that’s a good thing, but it’s got it’s down side. It’s located on the older side of downtown and it definitely suffers because of it. Inside Tom’s is cramped, not much room while you’re waiting for your order and not very comfortable to dine in. They’ve got plastic tables and chairs outside but they’re right next door to an auto shop so having your lunch with the buzzing of mechanical tools and the smell of motor oil isn’t very appealing. Mostly only street parking available unless you park at the market next door. Don’t let all the negatives keep you away from Tom’s, they are good ol’ fashion American burgers at their finest. You won’t find any fancy ingredients like garlic aioli or truffle oil here just regular ol’ burgers the way they were intended to be.

The only thing that sucks about Toms is there isn’t one where I live. You guys may want to rethink that. Cambria is pretty nice. I ate here for about 30 years before, we left the area. I miss you guys man. I look at your Facebook page and get pissed that I can’t get a Double Tom Cheese.
If you want good fast food without the corporate douch-​baggery, come to Toms. Then bring me a Double Tom Cheese.

wish I can give them 10 stars. the BEST burger joint In Santa Maria. can never get enough of this place. im a 3rd generation eating there and my parents and grandparents would grub there too. Now my kids get to enjoy it and let me tell you they LOVE IT!!! If a kid enjoys the food u know its pretty darn good. the crew working there are awesome. love the family business feel. everything from the burgers to the taquitos to chili fries to the cherry coke. (the best Cherry coke in town). this place is

Today i actually went into Tom’s to order food usually my husband gets off. after placing my order something caught my eye YIKES!!! A ROACH crawling on the menu the i looked over the counter and i saw at least 4 traps full of roaches looks like the heath department needs to do a surprise visit.

Although this place may not the best to dine in, the great food and great service make up for it as soon as you take the first bite… This local Santa Maria, hole in the wall won’t disappoint due to the expertise and craftsmanship of the head cook. Fresh and consistent. The Pastrami sandwich, my new favorite treat on the occasional Friday afternoon never disappoints… The cheeseburger ranks up to and a times, out ranks big chain restaurant burgers… So what if the place looks a little iffy give it a chance, I sure did…

Tried their Bacon Cheeseburger with Fries and a Chocolate Shake. The burger was delicious packed with bacon (I like that). The fries were good not as crispy as I like but it did go good together with the burger. The Chocolate Milk Shake was a «Homerun» loved the big scoops of ice cream. The guy who cooked my burger said I was lucky the Milkshake Master was there… he was right!

Lived here for over 35 years and have heard of Tom’s but had never eaten there. Finally stopped to have a burger with my husband while we were out and about one day. The place is small, but we loved it! The burgers reminded me of the kind o burger we ate as kids… flavorful and delicious. Loved the tater tots as well. Took my sister and niece there a few weeks later and they both enjoyed their meals as much as we did. Definitely going back to Tom’s and not just for the great burgers, but for the guys who run the place as well… they are fantastic!

Over cooked burgers, huge bag to put fries in and you only get a few soggy fries that are all wilted and bland.
Even when asked to get them a bit more crispy, they fail on that and give you the same wilted fries.
Onion rings are frozen pre made sitting I don’t know how long and taste like cardboard.
Burgers would be much better if they were not over cooked, place was Much better when the dad was there

Love their food. Triple Tom Cheese. Fries, some taquitos, some chilis and a large soda. Nothing better! Love it! I almost feel guilty eating that awesome food. Heart Attack on steroids! hahaha… Will be back soon!

Very nice people, great service. The breakfast burritos are great as is everything else.
The prices are cheap and you get a lot of food. Call in your order and have it ready for pick up.
Parking is tough, but you’ll figure it out.

I was hoping I had stumbled on a local secret, but all I got was a very mediocre burger, mushy fries and flat soda in a somewhat dirty building. I have no desire whatsover to go back and try something else.

From burgers and the BBQ Beef to home made tacos (dorados) and Chili Cheese Fries, this is the best lunch around. The bacon for BLTs or for breakfast is delicious, the sodas have real cherry, vanilla, or chocolate sirup, and the lemonade, ice tea, and fruit punch give variety to your lunch. The hot dogs are not boiled, they are split, dipped into the deep fryer, and thrown on the grill. Try the double hot dog sandwich or the Tuscon (bacon cheeseburger with a hot dog on it). The chicken quesedilla is a great snack and has everything that makes a quesedilla good. When you get the same thing repeatedly they will pick up on it and have your lunch cooking when you walk in.
Family owned and run by two Eagle Scouts and their Dad, many great laughs are to be had with your lunch.
