I’ve been seeing Dr. Inouye for 10+ years, and have referred friends here as well. In my lifetime, I have probably seen about 7 – 8 different dentists with varying specialties, from my childhood until today. I was referred to Dr. Inouye through my orthodontist(in fact he is his personal periodontist as well) after concern was raised for gum loss/gingivitis and recession, and the potential need for grafting. I started seeing Dr. Inouye every 6 months, in between my regularly scheduled general dentist appointments. Dr. Inouye did more extensive«perio» cleanings, in between my regularly scheduled general dentist cleanings. My gums have improved dramatically. He performed 2 grafts that were very successful, even after two failed grafts I had in my 20’s by another dentist. I was very pleased with his work, and by far he is the most detailed, skilled, and humble provider I have come across in all my years of seeing various general dentists and periodontists. Never before have my cleanings been so thorough. He also spends a lot of time pointing out specific areas that you should pay more attention to while brushing at home, and provides additional needed tools such as rubber picks to better clean along the gum line. He never pushes for unnecessary procedures, and in fact has been«monitoring» the status of two particular areas of my gums for 8+ years now, carefully measuring the thickness of the gums at each visit. The condition of my gums has vastly improved with his cleanings and teaching, and although I don’t really need to continue with routine cleanings every 3 months, I choose to continue to do so as his cleanings are far more thorough than anyone else I have found. Another thing I appreciate about Dr. Inouye is the fact that his dental hygienist and front office assistant are very personable, skilled, and professional, and they have been with him for as long as I have been going there as well. His office also provides free parking in the building next door, as his office is located in a very impacted area of Santa Monica where parking is limited and expensive. The two friends I have referred to him share the same compliments — one of my friends is a physician who drives an hour to see him and raves about how this is the cleanest his teeth and gums have been in his entire life(he’s in his late 40’s). I continue to follow up with Dr. Inouye as well, even after moving to the Bay Area. I just schedule my visits during times I’m down there to visit friends.

$$$$$ Dr. Inouye is a fine periodontist, but very expensive. The procedure(an implant with bone build up) was going to cost $ 8.000 plus! I stopped before the actual implant and saved $ 2.400 and wished I had checked around in the begining.
