Dr Wong is my new dentist as of this summer. I’ve had 3 appointments and I am absolutely impressed with his professionalism, thoroughness and how fair he is in providing options to dental procedures. I am recommending everyone I know to Dr Wong. He is simply the best!

When my regular dentist moved to the South Bay, I was troubled because I’d not had the best experience with LA dentists and it had taken me a few years of trial and error to find him. Dr. Wong is a godsend. He’s careful, thorough, and keeps the patient informed about everything that’s going on throughout his procedures, which really helps take some of the edge off nerve wracking things like drilling. He also never ever tries to upsell me on extra procedures that he doesn’t think are necessary. His office looks dated but all the amenities and tools seem to be state of the art. For instance, I’d never before seen X-​rays taken on an iPad! I also love the fact that he uses email. Cost of parking and the ditzy receptionist that I got one time when I called to make an appointment (she kept forgetting to tell me things or ask me for certain information and having to call me back or yell for me to «wait a minute» right when I was about to hang up because she’d already said bye) are the only things that I dislike, but they won’t keep me from continuing to go to Dr. Wong.

Dr. Wong is a wonderful dentist. I have developed anxiety about going to the dentist after a few terrible experiences in the past and this has not been an issue with Dr. Wong. I trust him with my teeth completely– both to make appropriate recommendations (not try to just charge me for things I don’t need) and to be gentle and careful while doing fillings, teeth cleanings, etc.

I’ve been going to Dr. Wong for 8 years, and I love the guy. He’s taken very good care of me, inspired me to take better care of my oral health, and seen me through some serious challenges which come with aging teeth. I recommend him with great enthusiasm.

Dr. Wong is great. He is warm and friendly, and has a very gentle touch. It’s clear that he is passionate about and skilled at what he does. His assistant, Anna, is the sweetest woman. She remembers everyone and always has a smile on her face.
When I had a cavity removed, he was very assuring and presented me with several options to deal with the pain during the procedure. He’s extremely knowledgeable and efficient.
His office is right on 15^th and Arizona, but be careful– some of the street parking is permit only.

Dr. Wong’s private practice encompasses several different aspects found in a good business. Dr. Wong himself is extremely attentive and honest. He doesn’t try to sell you extraneous products unlike many commercial dentists. His office is quaint and humble which reflects his practice. He only has one assistant, and what’s so unique about Dr. Wong is how he runs his office almost single-​handedly. He answers his own phones when Anna (his assistant) isn’t there, and you can tell that his sole purpose is to provide top-​notch quality, affordable dentistry. He does his best to accommodate emergencies and last-​minute appointments when possible and even works on Saturdays. Overall, Dr. Wong goes above and beyond to make your visit to the dentist a relaxed and worry-​free one!
The magazine selection in the waiting room is also great and always up-​to-​date, hehe.

Had as good of an experience as you can have with a dentist. Appreciated the clean cleaning :), the lack of pressure to get xrays, and the easy scheduling.
Do wish they validated parking…

Dr. Wong is an excellent dentist. He is equally kind and and has a fine way of explaining his process while doing it, so you’re never left wondering what he’s doing or how much longer it will take. I’ve never had an experience of having a crown make that was installed without adjustment. It fit perfectly right out of the box.

Dr. Wong is great! I moved to LA recently and needed a dentist in Santa Monica. Dr. Wong was patient in explaining things to me, didn’t try to upsell me on anything (even when I didn’t have my most recent xrays with me and he would have had cause to say that I needed to pay for an entirely new set immediately, he suggested having them sent along from my previous dentist since they were only taken 11 months prior), and I was in and out in under an hour. Two thumbs up :-) I’ll be back for my 6 month check up for sure.

Picture this: you’re in a small town somewhere in the middle of the country. There is one dentist in town, and he knows everyone’s name because he’s been treating them since they were little. He sees one patient at a time — no hopping back and forth between triple-​booked patients. Not only that — but HE STILL DOES HIS OWN CLEANINGS. He doesn’t try and sell you fancy procedures and he takes his time in explaining each move he makes.
Now picture this: you live in one of the biggest metropolises in the world. Technology is on the forefront, and your dentist hands you a tablet when you’re in the chair as you watch him take photos of your teeth. His walls are lined with photos of successful cosmetic and restorative dentistry and he’s located in an upscale urban location.
Now imagine these both came true, and you’re in Dr. Wong’s chair. Where you’re the only patient he is seeing that hour. Where he is cleaning your teeth himself, after he showed you the condition of each one on that handy tablet.
I had no idea these dentists even existed anymore. No upsell, no deep cleaning, no chaos — just me, Dr. Wong, and my shiny clean teeth. My teeth I got cleaned for $ 79 without dental insurance because I used
, and he accepts their discount plan. I paid $ 9 for the Brighter plan — take that delta dental.
Dr. Wong + Brighter’s discount = big smiles.

Granted, I’ve never had anything but routine work completed by Dr. Wong, but I’m surprised to see any negative reviews.
Dr. Wong is very professional and always explains every step he is taking and does a very thorough job. He also does not rely on dental hygienist to complete your cleanings.
I also consider Dr. Wong to be an extremely honest dentist, which seems to be hard to find in this town. He will not do any unnecessary work to pad the bill.

I have been going to Dr Wong for the last four years, mostly for basic cleanings. Occasionally, I’ve needed a fill from the past re-​done. I went to him terrified. I won’t get into why I was so scared of dentist but I literally would cry upon open my mouth. He carefully took his time with me. I like that he does the cleanings himself rather than a dental assistant. I like that it a small office and that he personally calls me to make sure my mouth is ok when a filling is done. Dr Wong is awesome. I highly recommend him especially if you’re afraid of dentist.

I’ve been going to Dr. Wong for about 4 years or so — I found him through a Zoom whitening special and have been going to him ever since. I honestly have never met a dentist that cares so deeply about his patients. I had to have a front tooth implant done that I was really upset about and he walked me through it, was so supportive the whole time and made the experience as easy as it could be to deal with. He consistently goes above and beyond with his practice — he has made special appointments for me in emergencies, worked with me on what procedures I need and when, and is incredibly personable every time I see him (and thanks to my bad genetics tooth-​wise I see him quite often). I also love his office and front desk staff. Those girls are some of the sweetest, nicest, most caring girls I have ever met at an office. I feel like I am going to see friends when I go there, that’s probably because that’s what I now consider them. I wish I could give him 6 stars.

Worst experience ever. Came in to get a teeth cleaning, and after X-​rays, he said I had a cavity. A cavity turned into a root canal, which he insisted that he could do himself. He was wrong. Worst mistake ever, and I’m still paying for it 2 years later. Do NOT go to this dentist. Incompetent money grabber would be a better professional title for Dr. Wong

Please do not go to this dentist if you have any cosmetic work that needs to be done!
I cant vouch for any general work (cleaning, fillings, etc), but I needed to have a small, rather basic chip in a tooth fixed and this Dr completely butchered it. He literally hacked and sanded my poor natural tooth away, and left me with a two-​color (he used bonding that was 2 shades darker than my other teeth), rough tooth that looked spackled and wasnt even polished — you could see the lines from the sanding drill on it — in areas that weren’t even near the chip!
Since then two other dentists have looked at it in awe and just shake their heads. It has cost a lot to have his work fixed and re-​done.
In addition, I felt uncomfortable at the office and found some of the Dr ‘s remarks to be condescending and belittling.
I dont like to write bad reviews but do want to warn people — just dont go here if you need cosmetic work done — its not every dentist’s specialty and it certainly is not his.

Dr. Wong is an amazing dentist. He’s very nice and easy to talk to. He also uses a lot of great technology, but doesn’t try to sell you things you don’t need. I’ve been to him for a variety of services including cleanings, crowns and some cosmetic work. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Wong was helpful, knowledgeable and above all else thorough without being needlessly expensive (esp. since I was paying our of pocket). He explained every action he was taking, its purpose in diagnosing my problem and helped me to understand his reasons for doing so.
His methods are more up to date than my previous dentist (digital X-​ray machine that apparently uses less radiation than the traditional, and a digital mouth camera — you’ll just have to go to see what I mean), which is a plus b/​c I’m a techno buff but don’t like being zapped with X rays cause I’m not a superhero.
Finally…not crazy expensive!!! He even gave me the option of cutting costs where he felt professionally responsible to allow (e.g. leaner X-​ray set = less dough). Also, he wasn’t trying to pitch me a new set of teeth, which some dentists do as a matter of course these days.
Was having some tooth pain and got the recommendation off if Unilocal, and it couldn’t have been better! Highly recommended!

Dr. Wong is the best dentist I have ever been to. I was so afraid of the dentist, that I hadn’t been to one in over 11 years. I would almost pass out thinking about it. But I have no more fears when I go to Dr. Wong. He is so intelligent and so caring. He is up on the latest in his field. The root canal he did with the crown was excellent. And I hardly felt a thing. Dr. Wong’s office has nitrous if you want it – which I always do. :) He will NEVER do unnecessary work and you can trust him 100%. If you have dental fears, go to Dr. Wong. You will feel in control and taken care of.
